Chapter X- Meeting Everyone

1049 Words
I rushed out of the hotel and hailed myself a cab. The idea of witches, vampires, and werewolves should be overwhelming, which I was taking very well. Maybe the dreams had prepared me beforehand. Right now, the only thing on my mind was getting Lisa away from Angelo. Knowing Lisa, she is one to grasp feelings fast. Just as I was about to get in a cab, a strong arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me back. The sparks igniting my body told me exactly who it was. Before I could speak, I was being pulled into the car by which I had come here. "Hades' let me go, that's my sister's life at stake there." He says nothing in response. . . . It's been two hours, since we have been on road. I have contemplated a hundred times on jumping out of this moving car, but decided against it, as one we were going at 80 per hour, and two, we were on a highway. I have continuously kept on pleading him to turn back or stop at least, but he has paid no heed to it. He kept on driving with a blank face. This man, void of any emotion, is whom destiny chose for me. As I had time to myself, I kept thinking about everything that happened. The dreams were actual visions of me in my past life, a life in which I was poisoned, Snow White vibes. This man is the supernatural king, who was extremely rude to me, but became sweet to me once he lost me, pathetic vibes. Then his twin brother tried to kill him and kidnap me for himself, but actually killed me in the process, dumb person vibes. This twin person kept Hades alive just so I could be reborn, as with him out of the picture, I, his mate, would have no purpose. Nature sure seems like a shallow person right now, like I have only one purpose right now. To be someone's significant other. On top, this twinsie is also the same person dating my sister. Although am I still Hades' mate? No matter how good-looking he is, I cannot put behind the way he behaved when I was alive in my past life. I do not remember my past life, I have just seen it as a third person, so I haven't really felt the pain. Yet, I don't think Hades deserves me, and I am pretty sure that once I get back memories from my past life, which Aurora, the witch, assured I would get back, I will not want to be his mate. As these thoughts keep swarming through my head, we reach a heavy metal gate. Hades drove inside once the gates were opened and I was in awe of the beautiful house in front of me. It was an A-framed house with three floors. The front was made of translucent glass, keeping the interior hidden from the outside world. Hades stopped the car in front of the house and got out to open the door for me. My heart swooned at this action, pushing aside all my thoughts of keeping him away from me. He gave me his hand to get out, and I took it without hesitation. Tingles erupted everywhere our skin touched, I felt warm inside. He opened the door with one hand, his other hand still holding on to me. Inside, there was a small hallway, with two doors on each side. The hallway led to a vast opening. I could hear hushed whispers and giggles, letting me know that we were not alone. "Are we meeting them now?" I asked Hades. He simply nodded. "Don't you think that may be too much for me, that maybe you are going at an extremely fast pace for today, dumping all of this on me? Just a few hours back, I was a normal human, now I am a human mated to a heartless supernatural, or maybe I don't want to meet them?" I let out in a single breath, still whispering. Although I felt like taking everything back the moment I saw his face. Quickly he masked his face, hiding all emotions. "We need to get over with everything, something huge is coming up." Saying so in a monotone, he walked ahead and turned right. I followed him, only to be even more awestruck. To my left were the kitchen, bar, and the dining table to fit ten or twelve people. It was an open kitchen with a bar on the extreme left wall. The dining table is at the opposite end of the kitchen. Taking in a deep breath, I turned around, to face everyone. There they were with a gloomy look on everyone's faces. Right, they had the super hearing, they must have heard my conversation with Hades. "It's not like I didn't want to meet everyone, it's just that it would have been nice to have an opinion and been informed beforehand," I said to clarify everything, somehow I wanted them to like me. Their faces broke out into grins, even that Astrid girl. Yes, I didn't remember them, but I knew who they were, and Aurora told me that now that I am twenty-three, I could get my past memories back, as anything could trigger it. So the past me will surely not take me misbehaving with them nicely. I roamed my eyes, first falling on Ryker and Czar, standing together, grins splitting their faces into halves, while Ryker had tears in his eyes. Then came Agnes and Astrid. Both had tears in their eyes, Agnes I understand, but Astrid too? Next came Solomon, Oscar, and Kon, all grinning. Last came Adelina, who looked like she was about to burst out into tears. As soon as I met her eyes, a sense of warmth and familiarity washed over me. She rushed and embraced me, finally letting go of those dams. I was usually very bad at consoling people, yet I found the words engraved in my head. "It's alright, Lina, I am alright. Everything's gonna be alright. Licuit esse vitae." I was shocked by my own words. So were the others. I had no idea what I just said, it just came to me.
