We all stood in front of the house still shocked to see the house so messed up. Aiden walked inside and Ember joined him immediately.
“Who might have broken into our house and why?” Ember asked as she picked up her favorite candle that had now been broken into pieces.
“No, this has to be reported,” Ember said and turned to leave before Aiden held her hands, preventing her from leaving. I couldn't think clearly, the only thing I could think of at the moment was the reason why they did what they did.
“What will you tell them? A thief broke into your poor home in the woods and…” Aiden paused and waited to look at Ember's facial expression.
