Back in the mansion Lord Alexander had a grim expression on his face as he spoke to Mr Voss.
"I'll have to visit the high council tomorrow." Ronald said.
"Yes, and I'll be going with you, the sooner the better." Alexander replied.
"To think Levine has been supplying the witches with Blue Roses, when he knows very well that it's forbidden to grow because it's used to corrupt vampires." Ronald wasn't happy with this news.
"The flowers have been burnt now but who knows how many the witches have in their possession, they could even start growing them." the Lord sighed.
Blue Roses weren't necessarily harmful to vampires but when burnt and mixed with blue orchid it becomes a deadly weapon against the vampires as it makes them go wild and lose their minds killing any and everything they lay their eyes on.
"Belmont won't be safe if they succeed in creating the potions." The Lord said.
"No it won't. For now there's been no news of the witches committing mass murders so we still have time to find the flowers and burn them." Ronald suggested.
"The council plans to send men. Ronald you know that making you the new Lord of Belmont leaves you and your family at risk as there's a high chance the witches will attack your home." The Lord looked at Ronald with concern as they had been friends for a long time, long enough to forget how long. It was because of the witches he lost his wife and he wouldn't want that for his friend.
"I know Alex, the paperwork will be finalized tomorrow. This war between the witches is dangerous, people are going to die so it wouldn't be that surprising if I'm among them, especially with them having the potions to corrupt our kind." Ronald smiled reassuringly.
When both men stepped out of the study, they saw their sons sitting on the couch playing cards like they hadn't been out ruining someone's social life.
The butler walked towards the master of the house and bowed. "Master, the rooms have been prepared for the Lord and his sons' use." His voice was monotone and he had a blank expression on his face.
"Alright Mark." Mr Voss said.
Soon it was evening in the mansion and the occupants of the house went to the dining room for supper. The night was tense with worry and anticipation of what the witches had planned. After dinner everyone retired to their rooms with Mrs Voss making rounds to tuck the children to bed before going to join her husband in their room.
Not long after, it started to rain, turning the weather cold.
