Alora
My heart almost fell out of my chest at his words. Although I do not have a good relationship with my father, I still worry about him very much.
"You wouldn't," I muttered.
"I still don't get why you are pretending to be so cool-headed in this conversation when the stench of your fear is so prominent right now." He chuckled.
"I'm not scared of you. Who would be scared of a coward who only derives joy from assaulting women?" I said.
"Careful. We wouldn't want to hurt the King's new toy now, do we?" He mocked.
"King's new toy?" I asked, confusion etched in my voice.
"Ah. You think I did not notice the way the king kept defending you? I even overheard the chief cook telling a chef that the king ordered him to be well fed and catered for. If not his w***e, what else would you do for him to do such things for you?" He asked.
I went completely mute. The king did that? What is his deal exactly? He promoted me to the kitchens even though it's not a work that anyone can just do, and now he instructed me to be well fed? I'm just an omega slave!
"Cat got your tongue? Your p***y got so upgraded, that was why you rejected me, right? Only the king can have his way to you. You're nothing but a slut!" Aiden roared.
I felt an anger like never before, my blood boiled with fury.
A loud smack was heard before I knew it. I had slapped Aiden, really hard.
The impact of the hit made his head turn sideways.
I picked up what Helen sent me to take and left the room with Aiden completely speechless.
"What took you so long?" Helen asked when I got to the yard.
"Sorry, I was assisting a maid with something inside." I lied.
Helen brushed off the topic and gave me another task to do outside. At least, I won't see Aiden again for now.
Before we knew it, everywhere became dark, the moon apparent in the sky already.
Time to pretend.
The yard started getting filled with pack members, they were all interacting with one another. The atmosphere was a joyful one. The werewolves, after all, feel more at ease whenever they rejoice together.
"Helen. I don't know if I can skip tonight's event. I'm not feeling so good." I said to Helen.
"It's mandatory for everyone to attend. Besides, you look completely fine to me," Helen responded.
"It's not like I'm not well physically. Something happened in the past that makes this night a horrid one for me." I explained.
Helen's eyes glossed over, which meant she was mindlinking someone. "I'd advise you to take your issue to the King then." She said,
"The K-in-ng?" I stammered.
I'm not in any way ready to face Kylen anytime soon, not after what happened this morning.
"Yes. Now, run along. The night is just about to start. You need to talk to him before he comes out." She shooed me away.
I made my way towards the palace with a hazy mind. It's either I join them for the full moon celebration, then when it's time to shift, I'd be the only one unable to do so. Or I face Kylen again after how I broke down in front of him this morning.
I got to Kylen's office floor and his guards questioned me first.
"Do you have an appointment with the king?" One of them asked. He's the scariest and most bulky of them.
"No. But it's pretty urgent," I said.
"And you think you can just meet with the king anytime you desire?" He sneered, the other guards looked at me with raised eyebrows too.
"If you have anything to discuss with the king, you have to go through the beta first." Another one said.
I was confused too when Helen directed me to Kylen's office instead of directing me to the Beta first.
The loud creak of Kylen's office door caught everyone's attention.
Kylen stepped outside with a hard glare on his face towards his guards.
"How many seconds would it have taken you to tell me about her being here, Carol?" Kylen asked the first guard who questioned me.
"I'm sorry, your majesty. I just thought I'd go through the normal pro-" He started but Kylen's growl stopped him.
"Shut it!" Kylen said, then turned towards me. "Come with me, Alora." He turned around and I followed him.
"What do you want to discuss with me? You sounded pretty urgent." He asked.
"How did you know that what I wanted to discuss with you sounded urgent?"
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Even though this office is soundproofed, I heard everything you discussed with my guards."
"I wanted to take permission to skip the full moon celebration." I said.
"Why?" He inquired.
"It's quite personal. I told Helen about it and he said I should tell you about it instead," I explained.
Creases formed on his forehead in confusion. "How serious is it for you not to attend the blood moon? You know how essential it is to werewolves," he asked.
"It's just.." I trailed off.
"You can tell me anything. It's not like I'd tell anyone, I just need to know the reason you want to skip it since it's the night most werewolves feel more alive."
"My mother died on a full moon." I explained. It's not entirely a lie, she truly died on the night of a full moon.
"Oh," Kylen said, but he sounded somewhat remorseful.
"I know what it means to lose someone very close to you. You can have the rest of the night off." He said with a forlorn look on his face, like he was remembering something.

"The king requests your attention." A guard said to me.
It's the morning after the full moon and we were cleaning the remnants of the night. If I thought the full moon celebration in my pack was rough, the Lycan kingdom's celebration is the worst.
The guard turned around and I followed behind him, wondering what Kylen had to tell me.
However, instead of the familiar office floor, the guard took me to a higher floor.
"That's not the way to the king's office." I spluttered.
"I know." The guard said. "He's not meeting you at his office."
He opened a large mahogany door and my mouth dropped in shock at the sight before me.
"Wow." I muttered to myself.
Our steps echo off the marble floor as I move down the corridor. The wall-mounted tapestries appear to come to life under the flickering, dancing light from the stained-glass windows. As we got closer to the living room doors, I could see the fine carvings on the dark wood.
We entered the room with a sensation of astonishment as I realized how uncommon it is for someone like me to experience something as luxurious as this.
A sizable, inviting couch that appeared to be covered in rich, black fabric caught my attention as I scanned the space. A low table with a vase of fresh flowers on it and a chair that matches it are both nearby. On the walls, there are numerous paintings that show scenes from the history of the monarchy with landscapes and people in them.
A tapestry hanging on one of the walls depicts a renowned battle scene. I can't help but be enthralled by the landscape because of the rich, brilliant hues.
A dark figure in the corner of the room startled me.
"Leave us." Kylen ordered, whom I presume is the guard behind me.
The front door closed, leaving only Kylen and I in the room.
"Your Majesty." I greeted you with a bow.
"Alora." He sighed.
Even though he ordered me to call him by his name only, I can't greet him, he's still the king.
"You have a very nice place. Though I don't know what I expected from a king's suite." I chuckled.
"It was inherited," he responded.
"You requested for me."
"Yeah. There hasn't really been a report on your work since you started working here," he said.
"Report?"
"Yeah. Since you came here to settle your father's debt. We need to see how long you have to work for and how long you've worked already." He explained.
"Oh. Okay."
He gestured for me to follow him, which I did. He stopped at a mini-study which looked cozy and modern.
Everything about this place screams royalty!
Kylen sat opposite me, yet he seemed so close, since the table is a small one.
He took out a file and scribbled a few words, and asked me questions at some point. He finished the report in minutes and turned his full attention to me again.
"Do you care for tea or coffee?" He asked.
He's asking me to have tea with him?! The Kylen Nova!
"Uh?" I muttered.
"I asked if you wanted tea," he repeated.
"Yes" tumbled out of my mouth before I knew it.
Kylen stood up and moved towards where I presume is the kitchen.
I looked around the study more when he left, taking in how picturesque it looked.
He came back two minutes later with two steaming cups of tea in hand.
He wanted to drop it at the same time and, coincidentally, I stretched out my hand at the same time.
The tea tumbled on the floor, I stretched forward my hand as if to salvage the spill and Kylen, without thinking of the broken mug on the floor, grabbed my hand.
At that moment, it felt like the world stopped around me. I suddenly craved more of his touch other than his hand on mine.
I looked at his face, really just noticing how godly he looked.
His eyes are a rich, piercing blue, and their thick, dark lashes frame them. His complexion is clear and silky, his eyebrows well-defined and really full. His large, expressive lips contrasted with his powerful, straight nose that, for a moment, I wondered how they would feel against mine. His shiny, dark hair falls in waves to his shoulder.
I moved my gaze downward to see the first three buttons of his shirt undone.
His chest is solid and lean, and he has broad, well-muscled shoulders. He has strong, muscular arms that look lengthy and powerful. His huge hands have square-tipped nails, lengthy fingers, and veiny. His hands looked so powerful and beautiful, but only the goddess knows how many lives he had taken with those hands. Yet, I wondered how they would look on my breasts, stroking them and sucking my n*****s with that sinful mouth-
Kylen's throat being cleared broke me out of my reverie.
"You might have a little thing on your cheek," he said.
I took up my free hand to truly see that I had drools on them.
I f*****g drooled in front of the king while fantasizing about his body!
I yanked my hand away from his as if it burnt.
So embarrassing.
"But really, I knew I looked hot, but it never crossed my mind that you found me drool worthy." He smirked.
Right there, I knew I was playing a very dangerous game.
I can't find him attractive. It's wrong in a lot of ways.
He's the king, I'm just a slave.
I turned on my heels to leave his suite.
"Alora!" He called after me but I ignored his calls, him being the king was not even on my mind.
I just needed to get out of that place, stay away from him.
With hurried steps, I was out of the suite but before the front door slammed shut, a ferocious growl ran through the palace with what sounded like a heavy thing being smashed on the ground.
"Shit."
