Mama Kana

Chapter 3

“Dada, wake up. Dada, please wake up now,” Mew heard a tiny voice trying to wake him up and felt his bed shaking a bit as his son started jumping. It’s the way of Jacob to wake up his Dada.

While Jacob is busy thinking what other ways will he do to wake up his Dada, Mew grabbed his son and started tickling him. Jacob laughed and tried to stop his Dada from attacking his weak spots.

When Jacob was almost breathless because of the tickles he received from his Dada, Mew stopped tickling his son and stand up, taking Jacob with him to the bathroom to take a shower.

After Mew finished bathing Jacob, he told Jacob to go to his Grandma and wait while he takes a bath.

After taking a bath and preparing for their day, Mew walked into the kitchen to eat breakfast with his family. He had breakfast with Jacob and his Mom because his Dad is already off to work for an early meeting.

“Morning, Mom,” Mew said and kissed his Mom’s cheek before sitting beside his son.

“Jacob said that you two will go bonding today.”

“Yes, Mom. We’ll go shopping and play until this cute boy gets tired,” Mew said while assisting his son to eat neatly.

“Jacob, where you want to go now? You want to play in the park or go shopping?” Mew asked his son while driving.

“To the park, Dada. I want to play in the park and then we’ll go to the mall afterward.”

“Okay. Let’s go to the park and we’ll buy you new toys at the mall. You like that?”

“Yes, Dada. I’m very excited.”

After almost half an hour of driving, they arrived at the park near the mall. Jacob is very excited and he didn’t wait for his father before going out of the car.

Mew gets out of the car quickly to follow his son to find out that his son is hugging and talking to a stranger. A man who he finds cute and pretty at the same time. If that’s even possible.

“Hey! What are you doing? Why are you hugging my son like that?” Mew furiously asked while walking fast towards the direction of his son and the stranger. Mew picked up his son and give him a safe distance from the stranger. A very cute stranger.

‘Why am I complimenting him? He’s a stranger’ Mew thought and shook his head.

“Good morning, Sir. I’m Kana Martinez, Kana for short. I’m Jacob’s teacher. I’m sorry if I hug your son without your permission,” the guy said while bowing and extending his hand.

“What? You’re Jacob’s teacher? You’re his so-called Mama Kana?” Mew asked in a confused voice and expression. It’s as if his PhD brain malfunctioned.

“Yes, Sir. I’m Jacob’s teacher and his Mama Kana.” Kana blushed but trying so hard to pretend that he’s not.

Mew shook Kana’s hand while saying his sincere apology towards his behavior after letting Jacob go down.

“It’s okay, Sir. I apologize, too.”

“Dada, can we go with Mama Kana? I want to be with my Mama Kana. Please, Dada.” Jacob showed his puppy eyes, knowing that it’s his father’s weakness.

“Go ask your Mama Kana,” Mew whispered to Jacob and Jacob smiled widely.

“Mama Kana, please go with us. Please play with us, Mama Kana,” Jacob said while hugging his Mama Kana who’s surprised because of the sudden invitation.

“Uhh...Jacob, it’s yours and your Dad’s day. It is inappropriate for me to join. Just enjoy, okay?” Kana said while ruffling Jacob’s hair.

Jacob suddenly sobs because his Mama Kana won’t join them. “But I want to be with Mama Kana.”

Jacob hugged Kana who doesn’t know what to do and just tries to comfort the crying Jacob. He turned his head towards Mew, eyes asking for help.

“If you’re not going anywhere, you can join us. Take it as my way to apologize for what happened earlier. He won’t stop crying if you won’t play with him.” Mew said because there’s a part of him that wanted to be with Kana and get to know him better.

“Is it really okay? I don’t want to intrude,” Kana said with a hint of hesitation in his voice.

“It’s all right. Really. Jacob will be glad if you join us,” He smiled at Kana to show his sincerity.

Kana sighed.

“Okay, Jacob, stop crying already. I’ll play with you.” Jacob stopped crying in an instant and smiled at his Mama Kana.

“Yay. Mama Kana will join us!” Jacob hugged his Mama Kana tighter.

Mew and Kana smiled at Jacob’s cuteness.
