CHAPTER 8

THE PROTECTOR

Hayley permitted Ema to accompany Luscious to the Lake Coast twice a week, and during those days, she was relieved of her duties at the house, and it was quickly becoming one of Ema's favorite days of her life. She would try on numerous outfits and assist in suggesting the dishes to be served that day.

It also allowed the couple to go out after finishing early at the Bernards' mansion. They enjoyed those days. They are sometimes accompanied by the soon-to-be wed.

Jaime seems to have forgotten about his worries; he is set to honor Alpha Bernard, one of his loyalists, on the wedding day of his son.

Hayley also prepared for the occasion; she is the Luna queen of the nation and had a prominent role to play in organizing the prominent women of the nation on that day.

A day before the wedding, Luscious was assigned a room at the Bernards' mansion near Scott and Monica's. Ema was also sent to the Bernards' mansion overnight, giving the couple additional opportunity to have fun and have wonderful s*x together. Luscious was cautious near the Bernards' mansion because only Scott, Monica Scott's betrothed, and Stephanon knew about his affair with Ema.

Ema awoke early on the wedding day, as did everyone else at the Bernards' mansion. For the first time in her life, she will not only attend a wedding but also play an essential role in it. She awoke before Luscious, had a shower, grabbed breakfast in the Bernards' kitchen, and tapped him awake.

"Good morning, sunshine." Luscious responded, "Good morning, my Lord." Ema responded with a beautiful smile on her face. They had breakfast together, then Luscious had his bath and joined Scott in his room.

Ema also joined Monica and a slew of other girls who were Monica's pals, including the daughters of various Alphas who had a positive relationship with the Bernards.

Celestine, Alpha Afonso's daughter, is Monica's closest friend and was first proposed as the principal bridesmaid, but Monica changed her mind without providing a compelling reason. Nevertheless, Celestine did not take it personally. Her goal for the day was to get recognized by the future Alpha King.

Celestine assisted Monica and Ema with their cosmetics because she was really skilled at it. They dressed on time and left the mansion before the boys.

When Ema arrived at the island where the party would take place, she looked at herself in the mirror in the center of the hall. She looked stunning; she complimented herself and blushed. She began to forget that she was simply a slave in Attah.

People adored Mary, unaware that she was the Stevensons' slave, and adored her from a distance.

Scott and the males, including Luscious, arrived at the wedding venue around an hour and 30 minutes after the girls. Luscious attempted to see his sweetheart before the event began, but his attempts were in vain.

The gathering was officiated by Alpha Adorfus, the Supreme Werewolf Council's eldest member. The boys took their places in the front row, while Scott was compelled to stand at the altar, waiting for his wife.

The Stevensons' arrival had also been announced. Jaime was joined by his beloved Luna and third son, Stephanon. Jeremy preferred the company of his men due to their important plan for the day.

The groom waited for his bride for about an hour, as it was in the custom of Attah to make the groom wait for his bride as long as the bride chose.

The girls entered the hall after an hour of waiting, and the entire assembly sighed. Scott felt pleased when he saw Monica, who was dressed stylishly. Ema had stolen the show with her lovely and stylish clothing. Except for Luscious, no one in the Stevenson family recognized her for a while.

"Who is that lady?" Martinez, who was sitting immediately next to Jeremy, inquired. "She is likely to be the daughter of one of the prominent Alphas," Jeremy said, scanning the room for Ema.

The congregation only recognized her when the bride and groom, along with their chief bridesmaid and best man, were introduced.

Jaime's, Hayley's, Jeremy's, Stephanon's, and everyone else who had previously known the slave girl were all taken aback, and their jaws dropped open in her presence.

The choice of the slave girl by the future Luna and mother of the Lake Coast Pack as chief bride's maid was interpreted as a statement of compassion and optimism for all members of the Lake Coast Pack. They will have a Luna who treats all humans equally and without discrimination.

Hayley and Jaime did not appreciate the act of making Ema the chief bride's maid because it highlighted their inhumane treatment of the girl, but they did not express their unhappiness on the occasion. Years ago, it was customary for Wolves not to e*****e one another, but the Stevensons are more than just Wolves; they are considered demigods in Attah. Jeremy and his friends were surprised to discover that the girl they were pining on was the same Ema to whom they had come to deliver a bitter lesson.

Ema stood close to the bride, enjoying all the attention, while Luscious stood on the opposite side, close to Scott, the groom.

“Can the bride step forward?” Apha Adorfus asked. The couple stepped closer to the Alpha, leaving the best man and chief bridesmaid two feet behind, respectively.

“Does anyone have any reason why these two should not be joined together in sacred matrimony?” Adorfus further asked. The congregation remained silent; therefore, Adorfus took it as permission to go on with the ceremony.

Marriage for wolves is a sacred ritual. It is a unification of two wolves in strength and body. They become subject to the other party's weaknesses and strengths.

Adorfus had them recite their vows one after the other. As they say wedding vows, the wolf's tie between them grows stronger. Then Adorfus told them to stretch their right hands forward.

Adorfus reached into his garment with his left hand, pulling out a short, sharp dagger, and marked their palm. He then links the palms together, allowing the blood to mix; this is the wolf unification rite in Attah, a ceremony that represents the couple's oneness.

After the wedding was concluded, the stage was set for the reception, which was the major highlight of the day.

Celestine, who had been patiently waiting to be spotted by the future Alpha King, made a brave decision. She approached Luscious and requested him to be her date for the night. "I'm sorry, my dear; I am fully booked for the night," Luscious answered graciously, declining her request. Celestine felt saddened by the rejection. "Who could that be?" She inquired further. "The chief bride's maid," Luscious confidently stated. "You mean your slave?" she asked, disgusted. "I am not an Alpha who enslaves one of his kind," Luscious responded before walking away.

Celestine couldn't believe that a guy would prefer a slave over a beautiful Alpha's daughter like her, and she felt insulted by Luscious. "I'll make him apologize,'' she told herself.

The party was overflowing with food and wine; they drank, ate, and danced for hours. Luscious danced with the chief bride's maid, as he had already informed Celestine. They had a good time and surprised everyone by laughing out loud. Jaime had no problem with the deed because it was restoring the harm done to his reputation by Monica's decision to make Ema her lead bridesmaid.

“Maybe the future Alpha king is different from his father,” some people commented.

Celestine, who was glaring angrily at Luscious and Ema as they danced, was observed by Jeremy and his colleagues. They resolved to utilize her to obtain what they wanted. Jeremy approached her and detected a wonderful aroma from her. "Woal! "Her perfume is superb," he told himself.

"I presume you want to dance with my brother," Jeremy inquired, but Celestine did not respond. "I can make that happen," he said. Celestine was more interested in the discourse this time. "How will you do that?" Celestine asked. "Don't worry; leave it to me. "All I need from you is to go tell her that the bride needs something from her car outside," Jeremy said.

Celestine approached Ema, who was dancing with Luscious, begged Luscious to excuse them for a moment, and informed her that the bride requested a bottle of champagne from his car, which was parked at the entrance to the island.

Ema returned to Luscious, told Luscious what Celestine had just told her, and begged to be excused for a few minutes.

She went outside to get the bottle of Champaign from outside; it was dark and quiet outside as everyone was inside.

As she approached the car, she was grabbed by Jeremy and his cohort, who were lying in wait for her. They blindfolded her and injected her with a drug, which made her unconscious.

They took her off the island with their car and drove off.

Celestine approached Luscious immediately after Ema departed to seek a dance with him before Ema returned, and Luscious consented, not wanting to anger her further. They danced for around ten minutes before Luscious became agitated by Ema's late return and left the hall in search of her.

He shouted out to Ema, but his efforts were hopeless. He grew concerned and examined the entire hall discreetly; nevertheless, his attempts proved unsuccessful. He next turned to the CCTV cameras, which were installed throughout the island and monitored and controlled by a control room at the entrance of the island.

Luscious found Ema's adoption by Jeremy and his crew through CCTv footage. He contacted Jeremy's number in order to beg him not to harm Ema, but Jeremy did not answer. He decided to inform his best friend Scott, who then notified his spouse, Monica. The bride and groom departed the wedding reception before it ended. Celestine, who was also worried about Ema knowing what part she played, joined them in their quest for her. They were unsure where to begin the hunt for them.

In the midst of their uncertainty, Luscious heard a tiny voice in his thoughts instructing him to go towards Mountain Pack's area. Martinez is the first offspring of the Mountain Pack's Alpha Skyler, which makes sense to Luscious. It was Ema's voice directing him to her location.

Luscious told Scott, who was driving, to turn around and drive toward the Mountain Pack region.
