EPISODE 16: The Box In The Attic

A week after Daniel returned to Willow Hill, Eleanor decided to finish cleaning the attic.

She had avoided one particular corner of the room for months. It was filled with old furniture, broken picture frames, and boxes that had belonged to her grandmother.

As she moved an old wooden chair, she noticed a small trunk underneath it.

The trunk was locked.

Fortunately, she found the key inside Margaret's journal.

When she opened it, she discovered dozens of photographs, newspaper clippings, and several handwritten pages.

At the very bottom was a small velvet pouch.

Inside was a gold ring.

Eleanor immediately recognized it.

She had seen the ring in one of Thomas and Clara's photographs.

She carefully turned it over.

There were initials engraved inside.

T.B.

Beneath the ring was a final note from Margaret.

Eleanor unfolded it slowly.

I never knew whether Thomas gave this to Clara before they were separated. If you found it, perhaps you can return it to where it belongs.

Eleanor stared at the ring.

For years, it had been hidden in the same house where the truth had been hidden.

She suddenly knew what she needed to do.

She would take the ring to Clara's grave.
