Williams pov She was indeed gorgeous. Her face was innocent, she reminded me of my childhood friend who traveled outside the country to settle with her dad. I was mild at the thought of how such a young lady in this generation will take up her family's responsibility on her shoulders. She wasn't anything like the girls I had seen so far, there was something really special about her. She looked as though she couldn't even hurt a fly. "Nice," I said in admiration. But I can't show any sign of weakness around any lady, that's my nature. In my mind, I was certainly confident she would return with a positive answer. "phew… anyways she has no option" I blew out before I heard my phone ringing. It was my mom, I guess she was calling to remind me of our dinner night. I picked up the call "Hi Mom, I already know why you are calling, I was rounding up and I promise I won't be late, love you bye kisses" I said making a kiss gesture to the phone. My Mom is another super important person in my life. She has been the one taking care of me since my father(her husband) died. She can be a bit overprotective sometimes but her love for me was unconditional. I hurriedly packed up my files and switched off the computer. I called my secretary to let her know I would be leaving the bank anytime soon. So she could cancel all my appointments for the day. I hastily went back home. I was home within a few minutes, she was already dressed and was in the living room waiting for me. "Wow! Mom, you look incredible, are you looking for a new crush? " I teased her. "Well if I get a suitor I will tell him, hey! I have a husband so back off," she said as she held my face with both hands. We giggled and laughed. She was indeed the source of my joy. She and I have walked this life together, she taught me how to be strong and how to manage my dad's business all by myself. "Shall we?" I placed her arm across mine and we both headed to the dinner night. On reaching the diner, we were offered the best seat in the house. Everyone in the city knows my family because of our status and how rich we were. I sat at the table waiting for my Mom to finish her conversation with the waiter. I dare not order a meal when my Mom was around me. I noticed she had set the table for three so I became bothered. "Mom" I called her then started chuckling. "Mom is just you and I, so why are there three dishes on the table? " I continue chuckling. "You will soon find out, " she smiled as she wrapped her napkins around her tiles. A few minutes later "Hi". I heard someone greet me, I left my spoon hanging, I looked up and a lady was smiling constantly at us. She was very excited like she won a lottery. I couldn't seem to figure out who she was and why she was hopping up and down in front of me. In my mind, I thought it might be all these girls that can't control their senses at the sight of an elegant man like me. "Williams, don't you know who she is? " my Mom asked in disappointment. Now I concentrated on the girl standing in front of us. This time she was no longer excited nor was she jumping around. I looked at her from her head to her legs but still couldn't recall seeing such a face before. "Williams is me Sofia" she smiled graciously at me. "Sofia oh my goodness God" I speedily rose from my seat and hugged her tightly in excitement. "Surprise!! " My Mom shouted as she hugged her from behind. Sofia was my childhood friend who traveled out of the country a long time ago to stay with her dad. She has been my mom's favorite and I was certain that the dinner night was specially for her. We all sat down. I was so curious to know when she came back and how they got to trick me that much. We spent a few hours listening to her and I got tired and sleepy. I was just quiet watching her and my mother having a great time together before I heard her ask my Mom if I was married. My Mom glanced at me and rolled her eyes, she responded with a loud No! Sofia laughed and said, "Well I guess he was waiting for me to return, after all, no one knows him better than I do" "Certainly" my mom added and they both laughed. I stood up in irritation and excused myself to the loo. My Mom will definitely want me to get married to Sofia. Ever since we were children she kept on singing those songs to my eyes and she wouldn't take no for an answer. I was glad to see Sofia after a long time. She was indeed a pretty young lady with a curvy shape, elegant and modest. But I was not interested in love or marriage. I have drilled myself into not being fervent. I didn't know how to burst their bubbles without them getting hurt. I guess I had to just play along for now. I washed my face and looked in the mirror. The thought of Mia flashed in my head. I couldn't understand why I was so keen to see her again.
