Twice Marked,Twice Loved

Chapter 6

As we walked through the forest, the trees were looking so tall. Suddenly, a snarling figure emerged from the shadows. Gale's eyes changed, as he pushed me behind,his body was tense. I could feel it.

The attacker longed at us , Gale immediately transformed. That was the first time I was witnessing his transformation,I was in awe, his wolf was big, the colour got my attention, it was a shade of dark grey.

I watched as Gale fought the attacker, his movement swift and deadly, but just as he wanted to strike the wolf, another wolf appeared, another one again till we were surrounded.

My heart was racing, I knew I had to act fast, I immediately remembered the silver knife Gale gave me for defense , I brought it out , ready to defend myself, but the two Wolves longed at me, Gale held them down.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Gale's pack arrived, chasing off the attackers, Gale transformed back to his human form, his chest heaving with exhaustion,he pulled me to his chest, checking for any injuries.

“Are you okay”, he asked, his voice filled with concern. I nodded, still shaken, but I was grateful for Gale's protection. As we caught our breath, I realized how much I relied on him and how I really cared for him.

As Gale held me close, I felt a sense of relief, we both waited for a moment catching our breath, and processing what just happened. Gale's pack, surrounded checking for injuries and assessing the situation.

One of the park warriors approached us , he was tall muscular man with a stern expression ,”Alpha we need to get her to safety ,we can't let her stay out here exposed “,said the muscular man. Gale nodded, scanning the area,”You're right , let's get her to the pack house “.

As we walked Gale arm wrapped around me, holding me close, I felt a sense of protection and security. I do wonder, how about his mate?Does he have something for me?, but whoever is his mate, would be so lucky to have such a caring mate like him.

Once we reached the pack, Gale's pack tended to our wounds and provided food and shelter. Gale said beside me, his eyes never leaving me, “You're safe now”, he said , his voice low and reassuring.

I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him and his pack, the adrenaline wore off, I realized how shaken I was, he immediately pulled me into a hug, “you're safe”, he said repeatedly, “I'll always protect you”.

As Gale held me close, his warmth and scent enveloped me, calming my racing heart,I was deeply grateful toward him,mixed with a flutter in my chest whenever he looked at me. His words “I'll always protect you”resonated deeply in me , and I wondered if he only felt the protective instinct towards me.

As I gazed into his eyes, I saw a deep affection and concern there, I felt my own feeling stirring,a mix of admiration, trust,and something more. I realized I was failing him, not only as a protector, but as a person.

I felt a connection that was growing between us. My wolf was still weak , because of all the beating. She didn't want to come out, so she stopped talking to him for a while.

As the moment passed, I felt myself leaning into him, craving his presence and comfort.

My heart skipped a beat , as I realized how much I have grown to care for him. I thought about all our moments, the laughter, the adventures and the quiet moments like this, but I fear that , when he finds his mate, our closeness will not be the same, I felt sad about it. His eyes seemed to see through my soul, understanding me the way no one has ever had.

Everyday with him was worth living, a mix of emotion and affection swirled in me. I wonder if he feels the same way towards me,if he'll ever see me as more than someone he just wants to protect.

My mind raced with questions, would he ever feel the same way I feel for him?,what if he has something for me?I felt exposed by his gentle touch, I felt I could be myself, without any judgement or rejection. I felt sad my mate rejected me, and I was having something for the Alpha he sold me too, my mind was running with different thoughts.

Gale's presence was like a balm to my soul, soothing my fears and doubt, I felt a deep connection to me , more than words can explain. I wonder if he would ever see me as his mate.
