CHAPTER EIGHTMatt Practice was rough this morning. Matt should’ve been happy just to be practicing with the team after how bad he was hurting the other night. The drills didn’t start out bad. His shoulder felt good, besides a few aches, and he had speed. Until he took a hit from Sam, with an apology after. And then came a body check from Patrick, while he was defending his team’s net during the scrimmage. Neither helped Matt’s already aching body. Then blowing a tire, when he caught a rough piece of ice with his skate, sent him careening into the boards, shoulder first. It all equated to a painful aftermath.
