Chapter Fourteen - Rushed Rescue

“Bella said if she was ever taken back home, she’d be locked in the attic or in the basement. If she is in the basement, that means she has to crawl through the sewer pipes. If she’s in the attic, she has to find a way outside they have a large gate added to the inside of the big windows. Bella is essentially stuck. And due to the state of her injuries. She won’t be in the window if she is awake.” Drew said.

Logan looked at the house.

“I heard the story about how she never gave up, and I believe she won’t. She will try. Where does the sewer end?” Logan asked.

“About 10 acres into the woods, it is gross. If Bella is in there, she will need to be cleaned instantly. The team going to the sewers needs a bottle each to tip onto her to clean her.” Drew said.

“I’ll take the sewer team.” Logan mumbled.

“Willingly?” Drew asked.

“If it means we get a minute closer to finding her, a minute to her safety. I will do anything. Rather than bickering about who gets the sewers, I will just take it.” Logan said.

The guys with Logan grabbed a bottle of water and walked around the large property to find the sewer entrance.

Earlier that same morning...

Bella woke up in a lot of pain, she had blood on her legs and torso, and Bella had some glass stuck in her bra.

Bella coughed and looked around her. She recognised her surroundings.

Bella wasn’t happy to be back here. She noticed the chain on her ankle. Bella undid the chain from the wall easily, the idiots never fixed it. Bella grabbed the chain carefully as she stood up.

The pain felt excruciating as she stood up.

Bella walked to the back and crawled into the small space where she crawled on her hands and knees. Bella was mainly crawling through thick yucky green water. But the smell was so putrid, it was making her sick.

Bella was on the verge of vomiting.

“Never again.” Bella told herself out loud.

Bella crawled the long way and then got the chain off. It nicked her skin and her fresh blood was on the chain now.

Bella however, wasn’t going to stick around.

Bella ran as fast as she could into the woods and to the creek. Bella cleaned herself off as best as she could and cried in pain as she felt the water touch her cuts and sores.

Bella lifted her bra and let the glass fall out.

Bella climbed out of the water with a struggle and stopped to catch her breath.

Laying on her back, Bella looked up at the sky with hope. Her fresh blood was coming through her clothes again.

Losing track of time, Bella was startled by footsteps nearby, approaching her in a running fast pace.

Logan found a small looking tunnel and ran to it, he saw a large chain with fresh blood on it. The men with him looked at the chain.

“Spread out.” Logan said.

Logan pulled his phone out.

[She’s out this way, there is fresh blood near the sewer entrance.] – Logan.

Drew received the text and got into his car, the others followed him.

They drove to the woods and pulled up.

Logan saw Bella, his friends were all near him. He gestured them to stop.

They watched Logan run as he approach her. Bella looked up startled.

“Logan?” Bella asked.

Shock and surprise on her face, hiding the fear she felt.

Logan knew that he couldn't express how greateful he was, that she was alive. So, Logan decided to try to be casual.

“I’ve been looking for you, all night. Are you ready to come home?” Logan asked.

Bella nodded. Logan picked Bella up and carried her in a princess style.

“How did you know about the woods?” Bella asked softly.

Bella looked at Logan closely in the eyes as he held her. Logan mostly watched each step, but he looked at Bella from time to time.

“I spoke to Drew.” Logan answered honestly.

“You spoke to Drew?” Bella asked shocked.

Logan nodded. His men followed behind them with their guns ready to shoot anyone.

“Your father won’t get you again, I’ll make sure of that.” Logan said.

“I already did.” Bella said.

“How?” Logan asked.

“I lied and said I wasn’t a virgin anymore when he grabbed me last night.” Bella said.

“Who did you pretend to lose it to?” Logan asked.

Bella hugged into Logan, then just laid her head against his shoulder while looking at him.

“I never told him who, you can take the fake honour if your want.” Bella said softly.

“Gladly.” Logan laughed.

Bella rested on Logan with her arm around his shoulder as he carried her. Drew saw Bella.

“Bella!” Drew shouted.

“Drew?” Bella asked.

Drew grabbed Bella from Logan. Logan was mad at Drew for this.

“What did they do to you?” Drew asked.

“I was chained in the basement again.” Bella said.

“Again?” Logan asked.

Logan looked at her foot. He took his shirt off and wrapped it around her foot.

“You’re bleeding Bella.” Logan said.

“I’m bleeding everywhere.” Bella said.

“Yeah, but more blood there.” Logan said.

Bella laughed.

“Drew, I don’t have a phone again. I’ll come see you for your number when I can.” Bella said.

Drew nodded. Drew kissed Bella’s cheek.

“Where are you going?” Drew asked.

“Home with Logan. I need to shower and sleep.” Bella said.

“Don’t you need a doctor?” Lyle asked.

Lyle was one of Logan's work mates.

“We have a doctor on call, he can come out.” Logan said.

“Bella, you are welcome to come and recover with me.” Drew said.

“I know. And I might take you up on that tomorrow. If it’s okay, can I stay with you tomorrow? I was told I can stay with Logan’s family for three days, tonight will be the third night. So I need a new place soon.” Bella said.

“My place is always your place.” Drew said.

Bella nodded. Drew hugged her tight then Logan slowly got her back from him.

Drew gave Logan a look.

“Bella, dad said you can stay a bit longer.” Logan said.

“Your brother makes me feel uncomfortable. And I’m not comfortable with your brother behaving the way he does.” Bella said.

Logan stayed quiet. He couldn’t disagree, he’s seen Bella go silent when Kieran randomly acts up.

“Let’s get you home so you can shower and rest while the doctor comes out.” Logan said.

Bella nodded as Logan carried her to his car.

Drew walked beside them and kept his gaze on Bella.

Logan helped Bella in and buckled her, he walked to his side with Drew's gaze piercing into his back.

When Logan took off, he waved at everyone while mouthing the words thank you. They waved back at him.

The drive was quiet, with Logan constantly looking towards Bella to check she was breathing.

Logan pulled up and got out of his car.

Matt walked out of the front door, with Milly right next to him.

"Where have you been!" Matt shouted.

Milly was looking angry next to Matt.

“CALL THE DOCTOR!” Logan screamed.

Logan ran around to the passenger side. Matt realised Bella wasn't well.

“KIERAN CALL THE DOCTOR!” Matt screamed.
