Chapter Ten - Teacher's Party

The rest of the day, Bella did her best to avoid everyone. She had classes with them but she sat in the back. She spoke to the teachers and said she was leaving early. They all asked her to come to the teachers lounge after school so she agreed.

Bella was sitting through the last class, she had Kieran in her class.

Kieran was watching Bella as she was writing notes. Bella then gave her notebook to Kieran and left and it had a note on it.

[Use this to study for the test. Every second Friday is a test. There is a test this Friday.] – Bella.

Kieran looked at her notes and was shocked, she nearly wrote down every single word he had said during the class. Kieran looked at Bella as she gathered her main book and she walked up to the front of the class. Bella placed the book on the desk then walked out. Kieran looked at her curiously as she walked out.

“Why is Bella leaving early?” Mary asked.

“Never you mind.” Mr Keale said.

They watched as Bella walked across the hall from the window to the corridor. And she knocked on the teachers lounge door. Kieran watched closely. Bella was invited inside by some female teachers who had cake and offered her a slice as she walked in.

“Who’s party is it?” Kieran asked.

“Bella’s party. Remember what she said at lunch.” Vince said.

Kieran looked at Vince then nodded. Bella sat in there and hugged the teachers, talked with them about her next steps and her goals. Bella got her certificate early. She also greeted the teachers that arrived in there after they taught their classes. When Logan walked outside, he saw Bella’s car still there.

“Where is Bella?” Logan asked.

“She’s having a party.” Vince said.

Mitchell looked at Vince confused.

“Walked straight out of class before it finished, straight to the party.” Vince said.

“Where?” Logan asked.

Vince and Kieran laughed.

“Where does a nerd party?” Vince asked.

“Don’t call her a nerd.” Logan said.

“No, in this circumstance he can. She’s having a party in the teachers lounge.” Kieran said.

Kieran pointed to the window where they saw Bella dancing with an older female teacher and laughing. The wall of windows showed them having fun as Bella laughed while dancing.

“Damn, the dinosaur can dance.” Mitchell said.

“You missed her dance with Mrs Birch. She’s dancing with everyone.” Vince said.

They watched her and everyone near them looked up and laughed. They took pictures of Bella dancing with the teachers. Bella was laughing as she started to play twister with the younger teachers. They laughed at her as the principal came in with pizza. Bella was showing she really knew how to be flexible. A lot of the students paid close attention from the grounds and the car park as they watched.

Bella stood up when everyone else fell. She shook her hips and danced again. The principal danced with her and she laughed. Bella danced with her hands next to her. They twirled each other as their dresses rose with their twirls. Bella’s laugh was so loud it could be heard through the hallways. They then stood there with Bella being blindfolded.

“What’s going on?” Bella asked.

“We have a surprise for you.” Mr Farley said.

“I don’t like surprises.” Bella said.

“You will like this one.” Mr Farley said.

Bella was guided to a chair on wheels and had her dress picked up so it didn’t drag. The students were laughing as they ran out. Logan noticed them.

“They are acting like children with her!” Abby said.

“It’s so funny. She makes people happy, I love how she does that.” Marissa said.

The guys heard them. A loud crash sound was heard and they saw Bella’s chair falling down the stairs near the window. She got up and laughed.

“I’m good!” Bella shouted.

They laughed. Bella had a new jacket on and a hat. She had a necklace and a bracelet. The school chipped in and bought them for her.

“Goodbye Bella, take care sweetheart.” Most of the teachers said.

Bella hugged them all and then walked down the rest of the stairs. Bella was smiling as she walked out the front doors of the school with a twirl in her steps. Everyone watched her.

“Did she just?” Mitchell started to ask.

“Yep. They gave her presents.” Vince said.

“She also fell.” Kieran said.

“She doesn’t look hurt.” Mark said.

They looked at Mark.

“Oh what, just cause I don’t talk, doesn’t mean I don’t listen.” Mark said.

They looked at Bella. She took off her hat and jacket.

Bella put them in the trunk of her car then she got in.

“Nice wheels.” Mark said.

“I didn’t know she had a car.” Mitchell said.

“She does.” Logan said.

Logan watched as Bella started her car and reversed to take off. He got in the car to follow her.

“Where’s Logan going?” Mitchell asked.

“Are you kidding? He thinks she is going to Drew, he is jealous. He’s going to stalk her.” Kieran joked.

They laughed then got into their cars. Bella drove to band practice and hugged Simon, Marcus and Liam. Sam wasn’t there yet. She said she was going to be late. Logan sat up the road as he watched closely. They had their garage open.

“Bella, always a beauty. Are you ready?” Simon asked.

“Yeah. I can only stay for two songs. So, we can get into a warm up and then the song we are performing. And on Saturday I can only do the song as I have a school performance. It’s the last of the year as I am finishing school early.” Bella said.

They nodded. They did a warm up. Logan recorded her playing the drums and banging out the drums. They set up the mic near her and you hear her singing dark lyrics into the mic during the slow intro for their song.

“I’m searching for an escape, a rope. A lasso a noose, no hope. Will someone hear my plea. Will they get it done. Danger in the corner, lurking behind the scenes. Never set foot in the obscene places I’ve now been. They turn into crime scenes. Chains are on my feet, and I’m searching, I’m screaming. Can someone, anyone, help me, find me!” Bella screamed the last part.

The drums got louder as they sang the rest without her. Bella was clearly just the back up vocal. Logan recorded her from his car. He loved how she sounded.

“Bella, are you sure you have to leave?” Liam asked.

“Yeah. I am staying with a few friends for a couple nights. And I have to be back soon. I have a curfew.” Bella said.

They nodded and let her go.

“Can I take my guitar? I have an idea for a new song. I want to try working on it.” Bella said.

“Yeah sure, it’s yours.” Simon said.

Simon went to hug her, but Bella turned around quickly and leave.

Logan ducked down quickly and let her leave before he started his car and followed her.

“Let it go.” Marcus said.

“No. What did Darryl say?” Simon asked.

“Nothing yet.” Marcus said.

Simon went back to the instruments.
