"school is great mom!"

"ok,go on" her mom replied, trying to get her daughter to tell her more.

"It's no big deal mom, it's just the normal first day experience." Jessica was really anxious to end the call now,not wanting her mom to delve further,scared that something might slip off and her mom will know the truth .

"Don't tell me you haven't made any friends yet."

Mrs Michael ask just to get information from her daughter who had become tight-lipped over the years.

Seriously,she couldn't pinpoint how it began.she loves her daughter and all but it's as if her daughter wants to run from her.

If only she can just talk to her! tell her what's going on.

"Mom, it's just my first time in school, don't you think it's too early to make friends?, besides,I want to focus on my studies."Jessica could not believe her mom right now.

" Fine ! you should focus on your studies,but still, don't forget to make friends too,who knows,you might just find a handsome young man who will love you and..." " Motherrrr!" Jessica screamed in frustration. Seriously,she literally doesn't know what to do with her mother at times.

"I'm just saying,it could happen."

" mom,I'm on the road right now, we'll talk later." Jessica said desperate now to end the call.

"Is that Jessica on the phone,let me speak to her." Mr Michael said to his wife as he enters the parlor .

" hang on Jessica,your father wants to talk to you."

" Hey pumpkin!"

"hey Dad!"

" Long day?"

Jessica heaves a sigh of tiredness.

All her body hurts but who is she to complain,she signed up for this after all.

"You have no clue" she went on, shaking her head " and now I have to deal with mom too."

"I heard thatttt!" Mrs Michael screamed from the kitchen where she was preparing dinner of noodles for the family.

"oops" Jessy laughs guiltily.

"Let me guess,she wants you to bring a man home" Mr Michael said with a smile in his voice while shaking his head .

"exactly dad! and it's just my first day.

wouldn't normal parents advice their ward to focus on school work?"

" Pumpkin,your mom is not just any parents and you Know that."

" Unfortunately,yes I do know that" Jessica continued after a brief pause

" Anyway,dad I have to go,I'm beat!"

" ok love,take care of yourself and always remember,we love you."

"Love you too Dad,say hi to Kingsley for me ok?"

" Will do bye"

" bye."

Jessica ended the call and opened her door. The call had lasted till she got to her place.
