Chapter eleven - That will be fun

2084 Words
Kally's POV: The first university year has finished. My grades are good. For the summer, I found a new job. This time, my dad liked it. I have to watch three kids. When I heard the number, I wanted to deny it. Dad said that I should take it as a challenge. That is what I did. I called the woman and accepted the job. I'll start soon. I can't wait to see the little kids. Maybe they can't go to kindergarten during the summer. It's ok. I'm sure we'll have fun together. The other good thing is my salary. It's almost the same as the one I had in the restaurant. Three kids. I need to remind myself of this. I don't think it'll be that bad. I don't expect them to help me with the chores. Addie told me to let them know I'm in charge. She took the news well. I know she wanted us to do some things during the summer vacation. I'll always have some time for her. Also, I'm free on the weekends. At least for now, I don't have to work during these days. There is a chance that it can happen. I hope that I'll be a good babysitter. Today is my first day at the new job. I woke up early to get ready on time. The parents have to go to work. I would love to see the kids. I haven't planned any activities, but they can help me. When I was ready, I quickly ate something and went out. I left a note for my parents. I don't have a car yet, so I'll walk. Honestly, I prefer walking. It's still early morning, so it's not that hot. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open it. That should be the woman I talked with. - Hello. - Hey. Kally, right? - Yes. - Come in. Thank you for accepting. - No problem. Where are the kids? - Boys, come here! - What do you want now? - These are your kids. - Yes, why? - No, I expected little kids. I'm sorry. - Maybe I should've told you that mine are around your age. - That would've been good information. - I have to go, so here is what you should do. They might try to sneak out, but don't let it happen. Also, they will try to make you quit. It has happened before. That is the most important one. If they make you leave, they are going to a military school. - What? Why? I'm sure they are not that bad. - Trust me, they are. - Alright. Is there anything else I need to know? - Don't give in. After all, they are boys. - I get it. That will be fun. - Have fun, boys. Make sure she is not traumatized when I come home. - she said and left Who knew that the famous triplets needed a babysitter? I guess they have been in a lot of trouble. Well, change of plans. I don't want to have any interactions with them. That's why I'll let them do whatever they want as long as they are home. I don't believe they would negotiate with me, but that is best for all of us. - Alright. - What are our rules? Maybe first we have to present ourselves. - Jay, none of you needs a presentation. Toby, Blake, and you like getting in trouble and playing around. The leader or the person with the craziest ideas is you. Let me tell you one thing. Your tricks won't work on me. I'll suggest something good for everyone. I'll do my job of watching you to be sure you won't go out. The three of you can do whatever you want if you are inside. Do we have a deal? - You will let us do anything we want. - Blane said - Yes. I imagined little kids. Yelling at young adults is not a solution. Neither, putting dumb rules that none of you will follow. I give you the freedom as long as you are in the house. Not going out includes the front door, escape from the backyard, and the stairs to one of your rooms outside this house. - How do you know about these? - Toby asked - Because I'm not blind. Everyone will see them coming to your house. - Mom doesn't know about them. - Are you sure? I think both of them know, but I don't want you to know that they know. - I'm not listening to any of the things we say. There are no rules for me. - Jay said - Did you even hear what I said? There are no rules. Do whatever you want. - What will you do then? - I'll make you lunch. Is anyone here allergic to something? - No, we eat everything. - Blane said - Good. You can go and enjoy your day. I'll call you when the food is ready. I went to the kitchen and started with the food. Here is the thing. I talked with their mom, and she never made me cook for them. That was my choice. I was well-informed about how they treated their other babysitters. Sadly, this won't work for me. As I was cooking, I felt a presence behind me. Really? That's all they have. - I suggest you let this down before things get ugly. - Why do you think I'll do something to you? - Toby asked - Because I know you. The three of you want to get rid of me. Good luck. Now, seriously. Put this down. - How the heck do you know? - Because I'm not stupid. Lunch will be ready in half an hour. If you don't want anything burned or uncooked, leave me alone. - I'll get you. That is not the end. - I would love to see what you can do. I decided to make soup. I was sure the boys would do something to the food. That's why I left four bowls facing the same way. On top, I put a small mint leaf for decoration. I pretend to go away for a second. Toby came back. He only wanted a glass of water. One leaf was moved, which means this bowl will be for him. - Boys, lunch is ready! - What do we have today? - Blane asked - Soup. The leaf is for decoration. - Sweet. Won't you try it? - Toby asked - Sure. I did a great job. It's delicious. How about yours? - It's. Spicy! - he said, and I laughed - It tastes good, right? - Do we have milk? Where is the milk? - Are you looking for this? - Yes! Please, give it to me. - What are the magic words? - What? - Say it. - I'm sorry. - It's not funny when it backfires. Is it? - How do you know? - Because I'm not stupid. One of the leaves got moved to the other side. You came for water, but there was no glass cup. - You are good, but no better than us. - Are you sure? So far, I like my job. It's entertaining. Watching the boys fall for their pranks makes me laugh so hard. I love this. They tried to prank me the whole afternoon. Sadly, nothing worked. Part of me feels bad for them. The other one enjoys it. - Will you give up? - Never! - Jay said - It's your choice. At least be creative. That is kindergarten level. I expected more from you. - Excuse me? - What? I'm honest. - If I do my best prank, you'll suffer a lot. - Then do it. I would love to see it. - Trust me. It's better if it doesn't happen. - Why? You can hurt me physically as much as you want. I won't go away. - Why? - It's in your interest if I'm here. We are not friends, but I don't want you to be in a military school. - Really? - Blane asked - Yes. Who else will entertain me? - Now you are making fun of us. - Maybe. It's not f*******n. - That is not the end. I bet I can make you cry and quit in no time. - The one who will cry is you on the way to the military school. - She can fight back. - Toby said - Who do you think you are? - Your worst nightmare. Now I know you won't sleep, thinking of ways to get rid of me. Jay didn't say anything. There was no need for that. I can read him like an open book. The job is a win-win. I love it. He was mad at me the whole time until his parents came. I plan to stay here for a long time. - Hey, Kally. How was your day? - It was good. I love this job. It's so fun. - You are the first person who says this. - I might be the last one as well. The boys will be in shape in no time. - I would be surprised to see this. - Tomorrow at the same time? - Yes. I will wait for you after breakfast. - Don't worry. I'll be here. - Thanks for your survives. - No problem. Bye, boys. See you tomorrow. Jay, make sure to get enough sleep. I think you'll need it. He was pissed but didn't say anything in front of his mom. Now, I don't regret accepting this job. I was at home for dinner. I went to take a shower. My parents will have a lot of questions for me. The food smells so good. My soup wasn't the best, but I had to be a good actress. The regret on Toby's face was priceless. - What's all the smiling for? - my mom asked - Nothing. - How was your first day at the new job? - my dad asked - Great. I love it. - You do. It's only babysitting. - Yes, but it's a lot funnier than I expected. - How are the kids? Do you have problems? - Not at all. I like them. All they need is a little bit of shaping. - What? - Nothing. After dinner, I went into my room. Mom followed me. She knows when I'm hiding something or not telling the whole story. I gave her a short version of what happened today. She didn't look happy, but I was. I'm a girl. My life can't be that boring. - Kally, it's not funny. - Why not? They deserve it. Also, I'm using their weapon against them. - You are a babysitter. - I expected little kids, not boys my age. - Behave, ok? You don't want to get fired. - Trust me that won't happen. Their mom loves a babysitter who would last long. - Be careful. You don't know what they can do to you. - Nothing. They can't make it worse. - What do you mean? - I'll go back to work tomorrow. Their pranks are harmless. - For now. You don't know what can happen. - Mom, stop being like dad. I don't want to deal with you, too. - Alright. I better leave you to rest. - I might call Addie. She will freak out. - Text Addie. Your dad and I want to rest. - she said, chuckling - Fine. I'll do it the boring way. There is no fun. - I'm sorry. Call her when we are not here. - That means never. Addie and I texted for more than two hours. She couldn't believe it when I told her who I was babysitting. Of course, I told her not to tell anyone. That is a little bit embarrassing. I don't like them much, but I wouldn't do this to them. I wonder what pranks Jay has prepared for me. I'm sure he is laying in bed, thinking about how to prank me. I haven't talked with the boys before, but I know how they work. After everything that happened with Kian, they can't do anything to me. It won't be that bad even if they try to hurt me. I think they should give up. I hope that I can have fun tomorrow as well.
