Chapter one - Getting it together
Kally's POV:
Hi, my name is Kally. I started my first year at university a few months ago. So far, everything is great. I found new friends. It's only one. Her name is Addie. We understand each other well. Since I'm in the local university, I don't have to use a dorm. That way, there will be more space for people from different cities. It's not like there aren't empty rooms. You can still use a dorm if you want. It was my choice to stay at home. I have a boyfriend named Kian. Lately, I don't think we understand each other well. I don't know what happened. Maybe we need a break. If I tell him this, he will get mad at me. I started working at a restaurant at night. I didn't need money. Well, I wanted to earn something for myself. My parents still give me an allowance. I can find a job according to my career, but I don't have much experience. After all, I'm still a first-grader. There are a lot of things that I need to learn. I still have three more years for that. I'll be looking forward to my summer vacation. I hope that I'll have great memories.
I have three classes today. The stress started coming up. My second semester began. I have new projects and homework to do. The good news is that I have some time for this. I texted Addie to see where she was. We agreed to go to class together. One thing about her is that she talks a lot. I always get informed by her. She never misses a thing in university. That is too much for me. I saw her at the front door. Hopefully, she hasn't waited too long.
- Am I late?
- No worries. I came ten minutes ago.
- Good. Should we go inside?
- Triple trouble.
- Where?
- Over there.
- Don't ruin my day.
- How is Kian? I haven't seen you together in a while.
- He is busy. That's all I know.
- Are you sure he is not cheating on you?
- No, but I don't care.
- How?
- Things don't work. If this is true, I'll use it as a motive to break up with him.
- For how long have you planned this?
- I have been thinking about it. I want to stay with him, but only I'm putting effort into this.
- Do what is best for you. Maybe he is not the one.
- I'll stay for a while to see what can happen.
- Good luck. I never liked him.
- I know. You made it too obvious.
- You can't blame a girl for her taste in boys.
The class was interesting, but my mind was focused on the message I received. It was from Kian. He wanted us to talk when I finished. I'm afraid that this won't end well. For now, I won't say anything. I agreed to go out with him after my class. He would come to my university. Part of me is glad we don't study in the same place.
- Thank you for having some time for me.
- Sure. What do you want?
- I was wondering if you have a free night.
- You couldn't text me this.
- I could, but I wanted to see you. What do you say?
- What am I supposed to say? Sure. Where are we going?
- My parents won't be at home. They'll be out for dinner.
- Ok. What are the plans?
- I don't have anything. I only wanted you to come. We'll decide everything later.
- If you say so.
- Do you have more classes?
- Yes, I do. You know my schedule.
- I keep forgetting.
- I have sent it to you. Open your phone.
- Someone woke up in a bad mood.
- I'm sorry. Can you be clear about tonight's plans?
- I told you. I have nothing prepared.
- Fine. I'll think of something.
- We can have fun.
- Is this why you are with me? There are other things than a physical touch.
- But.
- If you are a good boy, I'll think about this.
We talked for a while before my next class. He was extremely nice. I wonder what he has planned. He said nothing, but I didn't fully believe it. I know he wants some things, but I'm not ready. I don't understand why this is the only thing that matters. I went to the rest of my classes. I'm glad that Addie is with me. I talk to her about everything. After the last one, we went for coffee. There is a good shop nearby. I need to sit and put out my thoughts. I know she will listen to me.
- I see you are worried. Did something happen?
- I still think about this.
- Go and see what he will do. If you don't like it, leave.
- I can't leave him alone. It's not fair.
- Life is unfair. He can't do whatever he wants with you.
- Yes, but he is my boyfriend.
- You are the girlfriend, not a toy he can use whenever he wants to.
- I know, I know.
- Look. If he wants to go that far and you are not ready, decline.
- You realize that this can be the end.
- Don't you want to be with someone who loves you the way you are?
- Tell me when you find such a person.
- Nothing good will come out of this relationship. He is not the one, but it's your choice.
- I'll see how this can go.
- I'm only saying. The last thing I want you to do is regret it.
- That won't happen. I won't permit it.
- I'll believe it when I see it.
Addie is right. I have to be clear about what I want from this relationship. Maybe it's not what Kian wants. We have to sit and talk, but it won't be tonight. I believe he has other things in mind. Whatever it is, I won't go that far. I might like it, but there will be consequences. I don't want to do something that I'll regret later. The rest of the afternoon, I was at home. My parents came home for dinner. Mom and I made it together. I like talking with her.
- How was your day?
- It was good. Can I go out later?
- With Kian?
- How do you know?
- You don't go out that late with Addie.
- Fine. Can I go?
- Sure, but be safe. He has a job to do.
- Speaking of this.
- Yes?
- I want to start working. Would you mind?
- Why do you want to start working? I thought the money we gave you was enough.
- It is, but I want to earn something. Will you let me go?
- What is the job? I believe you already signed up for an interview.
- I want to work in a restaurant. Night shift.
- Kally, are you sure about this?
- Yes, I am. Please.
- Alright. This means, no more allowance for you. Since you'll earn money, we don't need to give you anything.
- Yes! I mean, cool. - I said, and she laughed
- Why are you growing up so quickly?
- If you don't let me go, I never will.
- Sad, but true.
My parents and I kept talking at dinner. Dad wasn't sure about the job, but didn't say anything. I put my charm on him. It's not always working. It depends on his mood. Later, I texted Kian to see where he was. The boy was waiting for me at his house. Part of me thinks that I'll regret this. The other one wants to know what will happen. I haven't done such things before. Now is not the right time, but I'll see how this one will go. If I don't like it, I'll go home. He can't force me about anything.
- Hello. I'm here.
- You look good.
- I dress like that every day.
- I know. Everything looks good on you.
- Ok. What are the plans?
- I have prepared a movie. Will you watch it with me?
- Sure. What is it about?
- You'll see.
- I don't enjoy where this is going.
- Relax. I won't do anything to you. I promise.
- Let's say that I trust you.
- Don't you?
- The living room is over there.
We went there without saying anything. For some reason, he can't stop looking at me. I believe he already knows what will happen. The movie was about teenage love and was full of many adult scenes. There is a reason why he picked this one. Soon, I was pulled for a hug. I might have a boyfriend, but I don't always feel comfortable. I waited to see if he would do something. Nothing. I looked at him and saw the smirk. Maybe I have to go home.
- Look. I might go home.
- Why? I didn't even start.
- That is the problem. The only reason I'm here is because you want something from me.
- No. I don't want anything from you. - he said and kissed me
- See? This is what I'm talking about. - I said and got up
- Where are you going?
- Home. I have nothing to do here.
- No, no. Will you stay with me?
- But.
Before I could finish, he kissed me. It's good, but I don't want my entire relationship to be based on that. The bad side of me was dominating the good one. I should let go, but I can't. I'm afraid he would want to go to the end. The worst thing is that I won't be able to stop him. Why does he have to be like that? It's good, but I can't let it happen. Not now. I pulled away and looked at him. There was no reaction but only a smile.
- I don't think I can do this.
- Listen to your heart, not to your head. - he said and kissed me
- This is what I'm doing.
- Are you sure? I know you want this, Kally. I see it in your eyes. You want someone to love you the way I do.
- What if something happens?
- Do you care?
- Of course. I do. That is my body.
- So? Let your body have fun for once. - he said and ran his hand around my stomach
- You have to stop.
- Why? Because you won't be able to do it? I want you, Kally. And I know you want me, too.
- Kian, I.
- Shh. Don't say anything. Let your heart speak.
- Will you listen to me?
- I am.
- I don't think so. Can't you wait a little bit?
- You say this every time. Have fun. I won't hurt you. I promise.
- I know, but.
- You don't want to be with me.
- No, no.
- It's ok. I get it.
- You won't go that far, ok?
- What?
- It's your only chance. I don't want to regret it.
- I think you should trust me more.
- I'm trying my best. Please, don't disappoint me.
- Have I ever done it?
- It's not too late to start.
- I'll never do it. - he said and kissed me
I'm making a mistake, but I wanted it. Something tells me Kian has planned this for a long time. I was sure he would go until the end. At least he was safe. I don't want to deal with the consequences of that. I'm afraid that this was the peak of our relationship. He might want to dump me. I don't want to go through this, but I can't help it. There is a chance he won't do it. I have no idea what to think. His signs are unreadable. No matter how much I ask him, I won't receive an answer. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. I'll see how things will go. I hope that I didn't make a mistake.
