Chapter 17

It has been 4 days I haven't left her side but nothing has changed. She hasn't improved but then hasn't deteriorated. I have had all of my work brought in Samuel has been preparing the pack for the moon goddess and the god of darkness to arrive. I can honestly say that I have no idea where I would have been without him these last few days. 

“Hey Jason” I hear looking up and I see Samuels face appear at the door. 

“Hey come on in” I say with a smile on my face. It's nice to see people other than the doctors coming in to check on her. 

“How is she doing?”

“No changes but I feel like she is trying to get to me somehow, it's odd i don't know how to explain it but when i lie with her it’s like she can feel it and relax. The doctors reckon it is just me but there our mating bond is growing sammy I am sure of it” i say trying to convince myself that I am not going mad. After all I'm no expert on how this mate stuff really works, only what I have been told plus my mate was the freaking future moon goddess.

“I'm sure you are right there is nothing stronger than a mates connection and bond remember that” he says placing his hand on my shoulder. He walks to the other side of Sophie's bed and takes her hand a low growl leaves my lips. I have been more protective over her in the last few days.  He just looks at me, shakes his head and laughs. 

“Hey Sophie, I know you can hear me. You seriously need to come back and sort him out. He is driving me mad. He hasn't left your side since you came in. we all miss you. We need our Luna” me said to her. My heart melted at hearing his words. He was right, everyone did miss her. maybe not Lyra she has been moping since i busted her for what she did to Sophie. I shake my head of the thoughts and get back to why Samuel had really come. 

“So what brings you over here?” 

“Ow ye sorry her parents will be arriving later on today they managed to make up time on their journey her radiance is rather emotional and his eminence is cautious over what has been done to her in the years she was missing.” samuel said shrugging “ Ow by the way you may want to consider a shower you stink I could smell you from outside, please tell me you have showered since being here?” I shook my head as he looked at me.

 “I need to be with her incase any thing happened”

“Jason go shower get cleaned up there is a change of clothes in the bag. I will sit with her until you come back and any changes you will be the first one to know you don't want the moon goddess thinking her daughter is mated to a minging stinking wolf now do you” he said with a c****d eyebrow he does have a point. I finally agree and make my way to the bathroom in Sophie’s hospital room. 

Standing in the shower letting the water beat my skin I can't help but think of Sophie and all of the things our life should hold and how in 3 days after the next full moon I should be marking her. I just want her to wake up. I want to find out who did this and why. I have a good idea on the who but the why is baffling me. Did they know who she really was? 

I step out of the shower and quickly change. I run my fingers through my hair and look myself over in the mirror other than the small bags under my eyes, I don't look too bad.  Who would have thought a shower could make me feel a little more positive about things. the thoughts of my future with sophie was all I needed. 

Walking back in Samuel looked up and smiled "well at least you smell better" he says with a chuckle. I can't help but join in. 

“Alpha her Radiance and his Eminence have Just arrived” Chris calls through the pack link. I don"t want to leave her side but I have to go greet them 

“Samuel, will you stay with her until I bring her Parents here?” 

“Of course I will, you big, softy” he chuckles again. I put my game face on and go meet them. Not only are they the 2 most powerful and respected people they are also the parents of my mate. I'm not sure if they know that or not. I mean, sure the moon goddess chooses the mates for all Werewolves but her daughter I just don't know. 

I make my way out of the hospital and over to the pack house. The entire pack are present and all stood welcoming our guests as soon as my pack spot me, they bow their heads in respect. I take a knee and bow my head to the moon goddess. 

"Ow Jason stand up and get over here. No need for all the formality" she says with so much grace in her voice. I stand and move closer. As soon as I'm in arms reach I am pulled into a tight embrace. 

"Its good to see you son" the god of darkness says. Pulling me into another embrace. 

"Welcome to my pack, if there is anything you need please just ask" i say trying to keep calm. I haven't seen them in 18 years and now they are here for their daughter. 

"There is nothing we will need. You have done the one thing we have been wanting for so long now, and I will tell you now like when you were young, call us Alys and Adrean. Please" Alys says taking my hand. 

"Have you found your mate yet?" Adrean asks "it's always confused Alys how she has never been able to pair you with a mate" 

"Ow, ignore him. Some wolves are paired by former Goddesses and you must have been one, please take us to our daughter" she says as I see tears prick in the corner of her eyes. 

"Of course follow me, I will warn you she isn't in the best condition, the pack doctors have taken great care of her. We are just waiting for her to come back to us" I say as the words stick in the back of my throat. I clear my throat and give myself a shake. Both Alys and Adrean look at me examining my deminar. 

 We walk into the hospital and all of the staff stop and bow their heads as we walk through. I stop at the door to her room. I slowly push the door and allow her parents in. It took everything in me not to go in first and take her hand. Samuel drops to his knee and bows in respect. I gesture for him to follow me out of the room to give them some time alone. But before I turn to leave I hear something. 

"Woofs.." 

I turn back and look towards sophie. I swear it sounded like her. Wait she, she remembers me. 

"Woofs" she mutters again. I dart to her side, her parents gasp and  watch everything. 

"I'm here MooMoo" I say, taking her hand. The room fills with silence again. 

"Thats why, it makes sense now" her mother sobs "The first moon goddess mated every moon goddess and their mate through all of time, that's why I couldn't pair you with anyone" I look up and see tears fall from her eyes. "It feels like destiny that your pack was put incharge of finding her and you are the one who did"

"I had no idea she was your daughter until I found her at the old house" i say feeling ashamed that I didn't recognise her. 

" Do we know who did this" her father asks with a dark tone lasing through his words. 

"I have a very good idea who, but I wanted Sophie to confirm it" i say feeling the anger building in me again. " I have 2 of my pack members following him to find out for sure"

We all stand looking at Sophie I know they want to spend time alone with their daughter. It took everything in me to stand "I will leave you to have some time alone with your daughter" i lean over and place a kiss on the top of her head. "Come back to me Sophie" i whisper "I need you MooMoo" 

I turn quickly on my heal's and walk out of the room as a lump forms in the back of my throat. We are 3 days from the full moon there is so much still to do to prepare every full moon my pack has a feast before we shift into our wolves. We also help the younge in the pack who are going to transition for the first time. It is sort of a celebration of their maturity into a wolf.
