As the sun dipped lower, the room was bathed in an orange glow. Elia wiped her tears and leaned over Jay, brushing her fingers gently through her son's hair. "The sun is setting, my baby. Remember how you used to love watching it with me? You'd always tell me how the colors looked like your favorite candies. When you wake up, we'll watch it together again. I promise."
Jake has his arm wrapping around his mate's shoulders. "We'll do all your favorite things, Jay. We'll take you to the meadow, let you chase the fireflies, and even let you stay up late to watch the stars. Just... wake up, son."
Suddenly, the faintest flicker of movement caught Elia's eye. Her breath hitched as she leaned closer to Jay. "Jake! Jake, his fingers! They moved!"
Jake's heart leapt, and he leaned forward, his hand covering Jay's tiny one. "Jay? Baby, can you hear us?"
Jay's eyelids fluttered, and a faint, raspy sound escaped his lips. It wasn't much, but it was enough.
"He's trying," Elia whispered, tears streaming down her face. "He's trying to come back to us. He's gaining consciousness."
Jake pressed a kiss to Jay's forehead, his voice trembling with emotion. "That's it, champ. Come back to us. We're here, son. We're waiting for you."
As the last rays of sunlight disappeared, the room filled with a renewed sense of hope. Jay was fighting, and his parents were determined to fight alongside him, no matter what it took.
The room was cloaked in the soft shadows of night, the faint glow of the moon casting a silvery light over Jay's fragile form. Elia's heart thudded painfully as she leaned closer, her fingers trembling as she stroked her son's hand.
"Jay... baby, I saw you move," Elia whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "Please, bubba, just try a little harder. Open your eyes for mumma."
Jake sat beside Elia, his powerful frame hunched over as he rested a hand on Jay's chest, feeling the faint rise and fall.
Jay's eyelids fluttered again, his small fingers twitching against Elia's. The movement was faint, but it was enough to make Elia's breath hitch.
Jake's eyes glistened as he leaned closer, his deep voice softening. "Baby..."
A faint, raspy whisper broke the silence. "D....dada...?"
Elia's sobs turned into a choked laugh as she clutched Jay's hand tighter. "Yes, baby! Dada's here! I'm here, my love. We're here! You're safe now."
Jay's eyes opened slowly, his gaze unfocused but filled with confusion. "It... hurts..."
Jake's voice cracked as he brushed a hand over Jay's hair. "I know, son. I know it hurts, but you're so brave. You're going to be okay. The doctor said you're strong, and we believe in you.''
Elia kissed Jay's forehead gently, her tears falling onto her son's pale skin. "We're so proud of you, baby. You're so strong. Just rest now, okay? "
The door creaked open, and the doctor stepped in, his expression softening when he saw Jay's half-open eyes. "Alpha, Luna, this is a good sign. He's conscious. I'll need to examine him further, but this is progress and we can't ask him anything which will hurt him emotionally."
Elia reluctantly moved aside, her hand never leaving Jay's as the doctor checked his vitals and adjusted the IV. Jay whimpered softly, his small body trembling.
"Shh, it's okay, bubba," Elia soothed, her voice trembling. " The doctor is just making sure you're okay. Mumma's right here. We're not going anywhere."
Jake stood, his towering presence filling the room as he turned to the doctor. "What now? What else can we do to help him?"
The doctor nodded, his tone respectful. "He's still weak and will need time to recover. His wounds are healing, but his body is exhausted. He'll need rest, proper nutrition, and constant care. With your permission, Alpha, I'd like to keep him on fluids and monitor him overnight."
"Do whatever you need," Jake said firmly. "Just make sure he won't feel pain anymore."
The doctor bowed slightly and left the room to prepare more supplies, leaving the family alone once again.
Jay's weak voice broke the silence. "Dad... why. c-couldn't save.....them....
Mumma .......why?
Elia's heart shattered at the question. She leaned down, her voice soft but steady. "Why what, baby?save? whome?"
"Chen brother a-and.. b-beki brother" Jay whispered, his eyes filling with tears as the last memories of his friends filled his vision.
Jake's fists clenched at his sides, his alpha instincts roaring to protect and avenge. "Because they were cruel, son. But they'll never hurt you again. I promise you that."
Elia kissed Jay's hand, her voice trembling. "You're safe now, bubba. They'll never touch you again. Mumma and Dad will make sure of it."
Jay's eyes fluttered closed again, his little body succumbing to exhaustion. Elia and Jake stayed by his side, their hands never leaving him.
Jake looked at Elia, his voice low but resolute. "I'll find who did this. And when i do, they'll regret ever laying a hand on him. They'll regret touching my son."
Elia nodded, her gaze never leaving Jay. "But first, we'll make sure he's okay. That's all that matters right now."
The stillness of the night shattered with a piercing howl, one that resonated with an unmistakable familiarity. It wasn't just any voice it carried a raw, unrestrained power that both Alphas recognized even better than the wolf who had unleashed it.
Their instincts flared to life, their sharp gazes locking for a brief, knowing moment. Without a word, a shared understanding passed between them, and a slow, dangerous smirk spread across their lips.
The hunt was on, and the night was about to witness the true might of their Alpha!!
The forest was quiet, the faint rustling of leaves blending with the distant sound of a stream. The moonlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting a silver glow over the two alpha's locked in a desperate embrace.
Sorin's arms were wrapped tightly around Selene, as if letting go would shatter the fragile reality they had found themselves in. His face was buried in Selene's neck, inhaling her mate's scent, a mix of rain soaked earth and wildflowers that he had longed for, dreamed of, for so many years.
Selene l, trembling in Sorin's arms, let out a shaky breath, her fingers clutching at the fabric of Sorin's shirt around his neck. Her heart pounded in her chest, a chaotic rhythm of relief, fear, and overwhelming love.
The silence between them was thick, charged with unspoken emotions that neither knew how to put into words.
"Thank you... for finding me, Sorin. For not giving up on me even after all these years. Even when you didn't know if I existed or not."
Sorin froze for a moment, his breath hitching as the words sank in.
Slowly, he pulled back just enough to look into Selene's eyes, his own shimmering with unshed tears. His lips curved into a small, trembling smile as he cupped Selene's face with right hand, thumb brushing away the tears that streaked down his mate's cheek.
"Thank you for existing, love," Sorin whispered, his voice thick unable to hold his emotion. "I can't believe I've finally found you. All these years, I searched for you like a hopeless wolf, following every faint scent, chasing every shadow, praying to the moon goddess, thinking that you're out there somewhere. And now..."
He paused, his voice breaking. "Now, holding you like this, feeling your warmth, hearing your voice, it doesn't feel real. I-If this is a dream, I'd gladly sleep forever just to keep you in my arms. I don't want to wake up ever."
Selene's breath hitched, her chest tightening painfully at the desperation in Sorin's voice. The longing, the fear of losing her, the sheer disbelief that this moment was real....it was all there, raw and unfiltered.
Selene's fingers tightened their grip on Sorin's back as she pressed her forehead against his mate's, her own tears mingling with Sorin's.
