Saving the Handsome Boss.

1206 Words
"Hey." She repeats and this time takes a seat on the chair Aria is supposed to be sitting, getting him to sigh shakily as he looks to the side and away from her. He could feel his shivering... the nervousness in his body slowly building up as he hears the other girl grab a seat from the other tables and sits beside him. "You're like... really handsome." The girl sitting on Aria's seat giggles as she brushes her long hair to her ear, biting her lip softly. "So I'm Jenna and this is Carly. We saw you walk by a block ago and we thought you were really handsome..." They both giggle and look at each other as Dean clears his throat and fixes his turtleneck as his hands begin to shake. Who were they and why were they talking to him? "Could we have your number?" Carly asks as she pulls out her phone and moves her chair closer to him. "You're like my type and I'm also a ten out of ten so we have that in common." Her friend giggles at that and also pulls her own phone out and leans over the table to hand him hers. "But I'm probably more of his type than you." Jenna teases her friend who sticks her tongue out playfully. "Or would you like both? we're like sharing." Dean clenches his jaw as he stares down at the phones in front of him. The two were close now, too close... He can smell their perfume, feel the heat from their bodies and can tell what they had eaten and drunk recently. And it was suffocating him... But just as he is about to up to leave, Aria appears with her plates and stands behind Dean who instantly catches the scent of her cologne and looks up at her. "Sorry... could you stop bothering my husband?" Aria says and she sets the plates down on the table and smiles apologetically at the ladies. "You're making him uncomfortable and it's our anniversary." The two girls stare baffled at the two, horrified even. Husband!? "I wouldn't have guessed." Jenna frowns and snatches her phone back as she sighs and stands up, irritated. "No offense, but you two don't look like a couple." "I saw her with him earlier tho." Carly laughs. "I thought they were friends." "Exactly." Jenna rolls her eyes and grabs her friends wrist, walking away. "Like why would he go for someone like her? she's not even all that pretty." Aria frowns at the latter but clears her throat when they are finally out of sight before returning Carly's seat to the next table over and taking her seat. Dean eases his shoulders, his nervousness dying down as he can finally breath. "I'm sorry if that was inappropriate." She chuckles uncomfortably. "You looked like you wanted to leave." "I was about to." he nods his head as he watches her fix her hair. "Thank you... for chasing them off." She smiles and nods, knowing full well it came at a cost of her confidence being crushed into nothing. She genuinely thought she was appealing this evening. Having dressed so well with a new piece of clothing, she did her hair to make it neat and presentable and also put on some makeup.... A sigh escapes her lips as she begins to mix her food. I guess nothing can make you beautiful if you're ugly... She pouts as she thinks of this, unaware of the faces she's making that Dean is silently observing. He drops his gaze down to the meal in front of him and it's hardly even plated to attract anyone visually. There's no fancy styling, no sauce arts and no extra plating. Everything seems to have just been dumped into the plate, creating a cheesy pasta meaty dish. His eyes narrow at the sight in front of him before glancing over at Aria who doesn't seem to find anything wrong with it. Rather, she seems to be enjoying it. Noticing that he hasn't even touched his food, Aria stops eating and carefully swallows what's inside her mouth and clears her throat. "Is... is the food not good?" She asks and he sighs, staring down at it for a moment. "It's not my usual." He says as he takes the fork into his hands and pokes it a little. "This is mostly pasta, hardly balanced, seems to have vegetables in it but the vegetables are in small cubes that it makes no difference whether they are in it or not, not to forget the nutrition one would get from eating this is mostly carbohydrates than..." He stops and glances towards her, only to stare into the confused and puzzled gaze from her. "Oh... oh right." Aria clears her throat and looks down at her plate. "I... I'm sorry, I'll... I'll find some place else–." "–Let me do the finding." He sighs as he pulls his phone out, getting Aria to frown and sit back, feeling the sting in her stomach as she stares down at the food she just bought. All the money she spent and it was the expensive meal option. "Let's go, it's close by." He says as he stands up, getting her to stand as well as she runs her fingers along her laps, trying to dry her already dry fingers. "So about the... uh.." She sighs as she watches him walk off. "okay..." She looks down at the plate and glances around nervously before grabbing the plates and walking behind him. He glances over his shoulder to her, noticing she's carrying the food and sighs softly. Why wouldn't she just leave them behind? Aria finally spots a homeless woman and her child playing a small banjo and walks over to them, holding them out for her to take. Dean glances once more and watches as the two's eyes light up in joy before willingly receiving the food and bowing their heads countless times with the widest smiles on their face. "Thank you... Thank you so much, you're so kind." They say cheerfully and Aria only smiles and nods her head, just glad that she doesn't have to waste it. Despite it being a lot of money.... After giving the food away, Aria turns to face Dean who stares down at her, getting her to raise her brows in question but he doesn't explain himself and continues to lead the way. He'd just never seen someone get that happy just by being gifted some mere low nutrition food that's only high on carbs. "Why didn't you just throw it away?" Dean asks as he stops in front of the restaurant and checks his phone to make sure it's the same. "We barely touched it... It would be wasteful to throw it away." She shrugs as she watches him check his phone and step back to check the sign. "Besides... They probably hadn't eaten all day." Dean presses his lips slightly as he nods, not to whatever she's said but because he's just verified the restaurant. He opens the door and gestures for her to walk in first, and she bows in appreciation and steps in, only to gasp.
