Once back in side she was still dizzied by him but able to hide it better. “Babe, I think it is time to go home it’s late. But David is interested in you doing some contract work for him, do you have a card?” “oh of course” she said as she rummaged through her purse. “Here you go David, it was great running into you, please send me the details of what you have in mind” “Oh I don’t think I can quite articulate what I have in mind in an email, but I’ll be in touch so we can get together to discuss” My lord, if you bottled that voice to sell you’d make millions. Justin helped her put her coat back on, David’s eyes looked angry as he watched. “Good night David” She said as they walked away. The rest of the weekend went by in a blur, she felt giddy as she knew David would be emailing her on Monday. Once Monday arrived she got to her office earlier than normal. She lectures in the morning, works with the grad students at lunch and the afternoons are her office hours. Normally she goes straight to the lecture hall to set up. Today, she went to her office first. She checked her emails. Nothing. She couldn’t help but feel disappointed. “It’s 7am Sam, what did you think? This is just another contract to him while you’re fawning like a school girl”. She sighed, gathered her papers and was about to head out the door when she heard bing from her computer. Her breath caught in her throat. She walked back to the laptop on her desk. There is was. New email from David Foster. She checked her watch, ‘I have time to look’ she thought and sat back down on her desk. Dear Dr Klein, It was a pleasure to see you on Friday night. I would be truly interested in getting to know you further and for your help in my endeavors. Would you be free for lunch today or tomorrow? Yours, David Foster   ‘I could put off the students at lunch, there isn’t any too pressing they are working on’ She thought. Yes, today at lunch works, here is my number 555-502-9755 With that she shut her laptop and went to her class. The rest of the morning went by both excruciatingly fast and painfully slow. She could not stop looking at the clock. He had texted her almost right away confirming the time and place for their meeting. Thank goodness that she was only teaching the undergrads today, the material is so simple she could do it in her sleep, and indeed, since it was Monday morning, most students looked like they were asleep. When lunch time finally arrived she went to the washroom to freshen up and redo her makeup before getting to the car and driving to the Italian restaurant they had agreed upon. She had never been to it before but had heard good things. Once in there it was very cozy, there were only a few tables available. She went to the host desk and asked for David’s reservation. She learned that was already waiting. She looked at her watch, she was five minutes early, how early had he gotten here? As the hostess led her to the table, she could faintly smell pine trees and mountain air. Then she saw him. ‘My lord, it was not the booze that made me think he was a god, he is still as gorgeous even dead sober’ she thought to herself. “Mr. Foster, how lovely to see you again” she said “Please, call me David” he told her, ‘oh my God, that voice’ she thought to herself, her panties were getting wet just from his voice. “Only if you call me Sam” she responded. He got up and pulled her chair back to let her sit. He smiled, a wickedly mischievous smile “Ok, Sam” her name sounded naughty from his lips… those lips. ‘No! Damn it Samantha you are a happily married woman, focus’ “So David, tell me what you have in mind for this collaboration” she asked, “getting right to it huh? We haven’t even gotten anything to drink yet” he had a teasing smile on his face. ‘is he flirting?’ “I like to be direct, I feel it leads to less confusion later” “Is this your professional opinion?” “yes actually” “ok, so lets get to it, but first, do you prefer red or white wine?” “red please”. He waved the waiter down and ordered a bottle of wine she had never heard of before. She was not a big drinker but did enjoy her wine. “Ok, to business then” he said. “I operate a large company with many different subsidiaries. My main task is the group my father left me. You could say this family business has been in the family for a few generations, and many generations have been with us also. We have been struggling with modernizing and I would like your opinion on how to best address these issues to them” She nodded along, “yes, these are normal issues for many older companies, if your family has been operating for so long I am surprised I have never heard your name. I did my master’s thesis on multi-generational family companies” “ah yes, well, my family is very, private. We would not normally seek out advice like this, but your... reputation is impeccable, and modern times and all” he said with a wink. ‘Is he flirting?’ she thought again. She could still smell him, she wanted to bury her nose right to his neck and hair and inhale him. Why did he have to smell so good. As they discussed the project more, and they ate their lunch, they both had pasta dishes. They seemed to gravitate closer and closer together. At some point their knees bumped and she felt electricity run through her body and a voice she did not recognize ‘MINE!’ yell inside her head. She was so alarmed that she dropped her fork on her plate rather loudly. Startled, she stammered “I-I’m sorry, would you please excuse me for a minute” as she rushed to the washroom. She needed some distance from this man. At the rate she visits washrooms with this much urgency around him he was going to think she had IBS. ‘Maybe that’s good’ she thought,  ‘maybe if he stops flirting I can think better’. She collected herself and went back to the table where they were clearing their plates. “This was a wonderful opportunity to get to know you better Sam” he said, almost purring. “I would really appreciate if maybe we could meet more often, to discuss the project of course. I would love to send you a contract to discuss compensation and a non-disclosure agreement obviously. I will warn you though, I will be very demanding of your time” she said holding her gaze, he looked hungry. Her panties were already soaked from being near him and now with this look, she wanted to serve herself up for the main course if he was hungry. “Yes well, the contract will stipulate the exact work that needs to be done and I can also best determine how I can manage my time to accomplish this. I would like to discuss the non-disclosure agreement though, since  depending on what we do together I would like to publish some of the work we do together, changing names to protect privacy. But we can discuss this at a later time in the event we are both happy with each other’s work and stipulations” She tried to sound as professional as possible while she really wanted to sit on his lap and lick him.  She stretched out her hand for a hand shake “Thank you for the delightful lunch David, I look forward to seeing more of you”. At least she could still tell the truth to someone. He smiled and took her hand in his, he had big hands. When their skin touched she gasped. It was like every part of her came alive. She felt adrenaline and electricity and power. That voice again ‘MINE! MATE!’ Her breathing came heavy as she worked hard to suppress whatever was happening to her. She looked up to meet his eyes. He looked, hungry and possessive and determined. He looked like he was having the same feelings she was, which was impossible. They both looked like they were struggling to compose themselves. Still holding her hand he said very softly “yes, it was incredibly wonderful to spend time with you” he was almost whispering, he took her hand and brought it to his lips. That was the last thing she remembered.
