SUSAN TELLS RAYLINE HOW IT ALL STARTED…

(Susan still talking to her daughter Rayline)

I was very exhausted and had no option than to accept the man to give me a lift. To make the matter worse, I was not having any cash on me to board a cab. While I was still talking, the man introduces himself to me as Bob and I did introduce myself when he asks to know my name.

Rayline! My daughter, I am sorry, it sounds as if I am retelling the story, but I want you to have an experience with my experience. I need to tell you the truth about how everything started, so you could know that most of the things we experience in life are the creation of our thoughts.

When I realized he calls me beautiful, I felt an irresistible emotional string dragging me into a swing of wonderland. I could not understand what is happening in my mind. The current of my desire is consuming me. Nevertheless, the experience is of hurt, pains and bitterness in the furnace, but the furnace gives me gold. Do you know who the gold is?

“No! Mummy, I do not know who the gold is”, said Rayline to her mother Susan.

Rayline, you are my ray of hope, the gold I found in my furnace after my desperation lands me into a relationship with your father, who care less about you, but claims he loves me. How can a man love a woman and hates his very daughter from the same woman? This became a burden to me because I feel you need a fatherly love, but he is never there for you and did not want to have anything to do with you. Rayline, my daughter, this hurts so much and I am so grieved in my heart. I feel like disappearing to somewhere where Bob will never again have contact with me. Therefore, I am planning on going for a vacation and I will take you along, my precious gold.

“Oh! Mummy, I cannot wait to go on a vacation with you”, said Rayline, “Mummy, remember, you promise to buy my ice cream, hope you will not fail your promise?”

“Mummy, I watched some kids playing on a rollercoaster and I would also love to play on it as well to have a firsthand experience of the amusement ride, consisting of a buggy on a track that rises, falls, twists and turns”, said Rayline to her mother.

(Susan smiles and her face glows with a sincere love for her daughter, even when her emotions carries a cloudy weight mixed with the feelings of bitterness, because of the thought of Bob).

Susan, said to Rayline, “Definitely, my precious gold, I will do anything for you as long as I can and I have what it takes to do it. You do not have to worry; you are my ray of hope. Nothing I will do for you Rayline my daughter that will measure up to the joy you bring me. Since you came, life has shown me a different perspective and I can see beauty in everything, despite people may see the contrary. You are not a misfortune. I am fortunate to have you as my daughter, and I am glad to be your proud mother.”

(While Susan was still talking to her daughter, tears drip down from her eyes, which spurs up emotions in Rayline and she starts crying, as she tries to encourage her mum that everything will be fine.)

“Mummy, why are you crying?” said Susan, “please do not cry, I believe everything will turn around for good. That is what you have always told me and I learnt that from you. Do you not believe what you have taught me?”

Oh! Sorry, I was telling you the story of how my relationship began with your father, Bob. He said to me, I mean, your father, Bob, said to me, “What is it, Susan? Can you talk to me?” I was still silent while he asks to find out what is happening. After some minutes, I finally answer him that I am pregnant, with tears covering my eyes. I thought he will be excited, but he did not show any sign of excitement, rather, he instructed me to terminate the pregnancy. This is against my catholic belief. This is the reason why your father did not like you. I need you to know this and try to do everything not to hate your dad for not loving you. Just know that what goes around will someday come around. Today, you needed a father and he is not there for you. However, things may change and he would need you and instead of you not being there for him, you will do the contrary of what he has done to you. My daughter, allow love to rule your heart because love will surely win. Life is sometimes unfair; nevertheless, you must uphold a positive mindset against all odds.”

(While Susan talks to her daughter Rayline, tears drops down and lands on Rayline’s cheek. Rayline turns and looks to her mother and say, “Mummy, everything will be fine. We will find true love. I do not care anymore if anyone loves me. What matters to me right now is the fact that you love me. I love you, mummy, you are the best mum in the world.”

“Rayline, Susan calls unto her daughter and say, “We are going on the vacation next week and I will ensure to keep my promises to you.”

After graduating from the University of Oakridge, life becomes difficult and unbearable for my parent, because my dad lost his job. My mum is only but a petty trader, who is suffering from breast cancer. My father has used all his remaining savings for the treatment of my mum. I did not want to remain a liability to my struggling parent. Therefore, I decided to leave my patent to seek greener pasture in the city of Canaan, where there are many opportunities for a graduate like me.
