゚・ 。゚ IN THE RESTAURANT ゚。・゚
The waitress opened the door with a faint smile of courtesy.
“Good morning Mr. Singleton, we have reserved for you the usual table” - said the girl while pointing to an empty table that, next to the large windows of the room, was allowing customers to observe the street and all people who were walking by it.
“Good morning” - replied the young man as he unbuttoned one of the buttons of his jacket and, with determined steps, went towards the table that the girl had just indicated.
The same table he usually occupied whenever he came with Em and Paul.
The table that, in this case, was already occupied by a young woman who, with a broad smile on her face, greeted him with a wave of her hand.
“Jax!” - Amy exclaimed as he got up and, with an expression of joy, approached the young man to place a quick kiss on his right cheek.
Cole, who was walking a few steps from Jax, almost collided with a chair from the nearer table.
"What the hell?!"
"She has never kissed me on the cheek... and we have known each other all our lives!"
Although, of course ... we were never more than friends ...
“Nam ... I'm glad you could come” - said Jax with a bright smile while, snapping two fingers, turned partially towards Cole
“I brought you a small gift!".
After which, he took the bouquet from Cole's hands and, with a seductive gesture, approached the young woman who, letting out a slight laugh of happiness, took the gift and held it to her nose.
“Hmmm ... they smell so good ...” - she muttered without stopping looking at Jax over the bouquet
“they are my favorites".
"Really?” - thought Cole,
"before saying that, maybe you should look at the flowers first ..."
“I know...” - Jax answered as he winked at the young woman who immediately began to blush
“although it has been difficult to find flowers that could be at the same level as your beauty..."
OMG!
"But what has this man done? Buy a book of ready-made phrases?"
He can not be cornier!
“Excuse me ...” - said a voice behind them.
The waitress, with a notebook in her hand, was at the side of the table. Waiting patiently for them to sit down to take their order.
“Oh...” - Nam mumbled with a slight giggle
“I guess we should sit down".
Jax nodded and, kindly, separated the chair from the table making the girl smile at him gratefully.
A few minutes later he had occupied the other empty chair and, turning towards the waitress, pointed at Cole.
“Find him an unoccupied table, one that is not far from ours."
The waitress frowned but, without saying anything, bowed respectfully and approached the young man who, with a surprised face on his face, was waiting for just a few steps away.
“Follow me, please".
A few minutes later Cole was sitting at a nearby table, a very small one, which was placed in one of the corners of the place.
A table from which, nevertheless, he could perfectly observe the man and the woman who, with wide smiles on their faces, were talking while enjoying their food.
Cole turned his gaze towards the only dish that was on his table.
A slight sigh came to his lips.
After all, in front of his eyes, there was a very small sandwich that the waitress had brought as an order from the other table.
A sandwich that, without a doubt, was not going to be enough. Much less when he didn't even have the time to eat something since that morning.
"And, on top of that, it has tomato's slices ...” - he thought as he opened it and began to separate the small slices from the rest of the food, leaving them on one of the napkins,
"they know I can not eat it but... they just don't care"
Finally, when he had finished fixing his sandwich, he began to eat while, once again, his eyes drifted towards the table on which Jax was standing.
His Jax.
That, in those moments, was brought with his fork a piece of food to the lips of Amy.
Cole choked.
Quickly he took the glass of water that was on the table and drank it in one gulp.
All this without realizing that, unintentionally, he had slightly hit the napkin where the pieces of tomato were and that one of the slices had ended up falling next to the leg of the table.
“Are you Ok?” - the waitress asked as she approached him with a new glass of water.
The young man, seeing the worried face of the young girl, nodded.
“Y...Yes, do not worry” - he muttered while wiping the tears from his cheeks “it has not been anything important".
The young woman smiled and, with a kind gesture, left the new glass of water on the table.
“In case you need it ...” - she said coquettishly just before turning around and heading towards one of the tables from where they were calling her insistently.
Cole watched her leave with a faint smile without noticing two pairs of eyes that were staring at him from a nearby table.
Two pairs of eyes that were reflecting the same feeling ... jealousy.
