Willow followed the duke at a careful distance as the two bald-headed blue-robed priests led him deeper into the halls of the monastery. She hid in the shadows of a recessed doorway as Eisen and Liam were ushered into a bright, well-lit room.  She had only a glimpse of the luxurious interior before the priests hurried out again, whispering to themselves.  “The bishop won’t like to be interrupted,” the taller one was saying.  “Under normal circumstances,” said the smaller man, “but he will want to know that the duke has arrived.”  They passed right by her, but they were so intent on the task at hand that they didn’t even notice her small form pressed against the door.  Once they turned the corner, she breathed a sigh of relief and tried to slow her galloping heart.  She glanced up and dow
