“Keep your eyes open,” Liam instructed his men as they approached the monastery. “Eisen and I will go inside, the rest of you check the courtyard, look for anything out of the usual.”
“But they keep the gates locked, how do you know she even got inside?”
The duke could only shake his head, “She’s an unusual woman. I don’t know how, but I’m confident she will find a way.” He looked back toward the small village. “There is the possibility that we arrived before her. She was traveling on foot. One of you should stay outside the gates and keep a watch out.” The men shifted uncomfortably. Apart from Eisen, none of them were well acquainted with the woman. They had only seen her in passing when she was out in the stable with the duke or walking in the gardens.
