Valens POV My alarm wakes me from my pleasant sleep and I rub my eyes, it's still dark outside. I look at my phone, it's 6 am and today is the day. After several complaints about Alpha Jack, I'm going to pay him a visit and talk about his strategy as an Alpha. I have always hated him and my father too, he is a cruel Alpha and rumors has it that he torture his pack members. Last night I got another complaint and I can't ignore it anymore, I have to see it with my own eyes. 'Can't we just kill him? He has always been an ass.' Cain, my wolf, growls in my head. I roll my eyes at him, all he thinks about is killing. 'We will not kill him, we will only punish him if we find evidence of him torturing them.' I sigh. He growls in the back of my head before he goes silent. I get out of my bed and head for the shower. Maybe that will give me a shot of energy. I yawn on my way and turn on the showers, the water is cold when I step under. The coldness awakens my body and I finally feel fresh. I take a towel around my body and walk to my closet. I take on a black suit, and head down to the kitchen for some coffee. Omegas are running around in the kitchen like chickens without their heads. They fear me. The side glances they steal of me is getting on my nerves. They know better than to irritate me. Jayden walks in with a chick attached to his hip. "Good morning, Alpha." The girl squeaks and push up her chest for me to see her breasts. I look at her with cold eyes. Luckily, Jayden senses my mood. "Hailey, love. You better get going. Alpha is not in a good mood." Jayden yawns and the girl runs off. I stare at my beta. He's my best friend but I want to kill him sometimes. He thinks with his d**k, meaning he has been with every girl in my pack and now he's starting over. "f**k you, Jayden. Now come on. We have to get going." I mumble into my cup. He takes a quick cup of coffee before we out the door. I mind link my Gamma, Kion. 'We're heading off to visit Alpha Jack now. You're in charge, Kion.' I tell him. 'Yes Alpha.' He replies. We go to the garage. "Which one today, Valens?" Jayden smirks, he knows I love cars and I have a few. I take the keys to the Audi R8 and jumps in, Jayden makes a girly squeal and jump in the passanger seat. I grin at him, he's such a teen boy, though he's almost 24. "I love this car!" He almost moans when he touch the leather dashboard on his side. I look at him and roll my eyes. "What? It has nice.. things." He mumbles and stops touching my car. I shake my head and start driving. It takes about 2 hours for us to reach Alpha Jack's pack, he lives up in the mountains. We drive up the small roads and comes to a big metal gate. We stop and press a green button and the gate opens. We drive up the lane and see his packhouse, it's smaller than mine but still big. We have been alliances with Alpha Jack for years now but it doesn't feel right anymore. He has made some enemies over the years and my father was one of them. We park the car and we walk up the stairs to the main door. I knock once and the door opens in seconds. A young girl opens the door, her face is covered in scars and bruises and her eyes widen when she looks at us. "M-my K-king." She bows her head and avoid my eyes. "Hello, is Alpha Jack present?" I ask her in a calm tone and give her a little smile. "Y-yes. He's in the... basement." She says hesitant. I nod and walk past her. "Please, lead me to him." I say and she looks frightened. I look around the hall, the walls is dark and cold. No one is around, the usual noise from pack members is missing and the place looks dead. "Please, this way, my King." She says and points to a door near the staircase. We walk over to the door and I can smell blood, a lot of it. I look at the girl and she looks at the ground. "He's down there, doing his.. stuff." She whispers and I nod. I open the door and the smell hits us like a truck and both Jayden and I stumble backwards. We can hear growling and screams down there and a cold shiver run down my spine. "It smells like death down there!" Jayden whispers and holds his nose. I agree with him, it does smell like death down there. The girl is still standing in the hall. "Please help them." She whispers and closes the door. We walk down the stairs and hear a whip slashing something or someone repeatedly. I give Jayden a look and we hurry down the stairs. This smell is overwhelming. Cain is growling in my head, pacing back and forth.We reach the floor and the scene in front of me is making me growl. Alpha Jack and his beta is standing in front of a white wolf whipping it. It's on the ground, its breathing is shallow. His beta slashed the whip over its body over and over again and it's covered in open wounds and blood. I look around and see wolves everywhere, standing in cages like animals. Some in wolf form and others in human form, naked and humiliated. "What the hell is going on in here?!" I snarl viciously. Alpha Jack jumps by the sound of my voice and turn around to look at me. His eyes widens when he sees me. "My King, what are you doing here?" He asks in a high pitch tone. Cain is ready to snap his head right there. 'Please let me have him.' He snarls. I walk closer to Alpha Jack and he tries to hide a bucket behind him. I can smell the wolfsbane a mile away. "I have received several complaints about you and the way you run your pack, Jack. Now, tell me why your punishing this wolf?" I snarl in a low, raw voice. His beta is standing perfectly still, maybe hoping I can't see him. I take a deep breath and that's when I notice. The sweet smell of lavender and vanilla. I feel Cain howling in my head and I know what he is about to tell me but know is not a good time. "I run my pack like any other Alpha. As to what I'm doing here, I'm only punishing a couple of rouges." He points to the white wolf and step aside so I can see her better. My heart breaks at the sight of her, laying in a pool of blood. Her face is slashed open and I notice a big scar running an inch over her right eye and down to her cheek. She opens her eyes and look at me with the most beautiful, golden eyes. I have never seen anything like them. Her eyes widens and her heartbeat picks up. She tries to stand up but the beta turns around and whip her again. I roar and my hand is around his throat in a second. Alpha Jack stumbles backwards and looks at me with horror. I feel my claws extend and my canines bursting through my skin. I know my eyes is blood-red as I feel Cain taking over my body. "How dare you hurt her?!" I roar in the beta's face. He tries desperately to break free from my grasp but he's unsuccessful. My claws dig into his throat and blood is dripping down his chest, coloring his white shirt. "Pl-please let him go, your Majesty." Alpha Jack whispers and takes a step closer to me. I turn to face him and his eyes widens. I rip out the beta's throat and his body falls to the ground. "She's not a rouge, Jack. You're torturing a young girl for no reason. Tell me why!" I have him cornered and his face is pale. He holds up his arms in surrender and I chuckle. Jayden is standing behind me. "I'm not sparring your life, you bastard. Now tell me who she is, and why you have her down here!" He falls to his knees. "Please, your Majesty. Please spare me, I will tell you everything." I grab him by his collar and drag him to the bucket of wolfsbane. I push his head down the bucket and he scrambles to get free. I pull him up and he cries out in pain. His face is burnt by the wolfsbane, layers of skin is peeling off. He cries out loud, trying to get away from me. "She's a m-mother wolf. I took her long ago time and she's been down here ever since. Please don't kill me." He begs with his hands at his chest. I grab him by his throat. His skin burns me but I don't care. This man is going to die for what he did. I rip his head off in one quick snap and his headless body falls to the ground. "Jayden, please inform the rest of this sad pack, that their Alpha and Beta are dead and they will be under my territory now. I'm going to take these wolves with me, I doubt they want to stay here. I will pick a new Alpha for the rest of the pack." I tell him while cleaning my hands from the blood. "Yes Alpha." He turns around and walk up the stairs again. I walk over to my mate, who's laying unconscious on the floor in her own blood. My mate. I never wanted a mate. They make you weak and exposed. I'm the king, I don't want a mate. Cain growls in my head. 'Don't you dare reject her, Valens. I will rip your heart out if you do.' He snarls. I sigh and look at my mate again. Her fur is white as snow, I have only heard of Mother Wolves but never met or seen one before. I touch her fur and hear a snarl coming from behind me. I turn around and see a jet black wolf standing with bared teeth. "Don't you snarl at me boy, I just saved you." I tell the young wolf, he smells like my mate and that irritates me. The wolf takes a step towards me and I give him a warning growl. He keeps getting closer and I step forward and bare my teeth while snarling. I'm about to knock him out when my mate suddenly jumps in from the side and stands before me, shielding the other wolf. She's trembling, using all her energy on standing right there. She growls at me and then at the young wolf before she collapse. She shift into her human form. She has long, curly brown hair which covers half her body. She's fit, her body is full of muscles. I wonder what Jack was using her for. Her heart-shaped face is covered in freckles and her lips is red and full. I take of my jacket and cover her body. I turn my attention to the young wolf. "Shift." I growl and he obeys. He shifts and a young boy with long black hair stands before me. He has green eyes and freckles all over his face. I'm guessing he's maybe 18 years old. His eyes has not left my mate once, something Cain isn't happy about. "What's your name?" I ask him and he finally looks at me. "Liam. My name is Liam." He whispers. He looks at my mate again and I try to shield her from his eyes. "Who is she?" I nod my head towards my mate and he looks me again. "She's my sister. We.. we were taken a long time ago." Cain stops pacing and I feel relieved he's only her sister. He's body is full of scars and I wonder how long they have been here. "Why? Why would Jake keep you here?" Is all I can ask him. "Sage is.. special. Jack kept saying she's a Mother Wolf, that she's special and no one can know about her." He looks at my mate with a devastating look. "Sage." I try the name on my tongue, it's a beautiful name. Jayden walks down the stairs again and the girl from before is following him. "Alpha, this is Olivia, she wants to ask you something." Jayden says with a smile. I look at Olivia and for the first time, I see a smile, a sincere smile. "Please Olivia, do tell." I gesture her to talk with a smile. "My King, I will like to join your pack." She says without any hesitation, she's more relaxed and calm. I guess it has something to do with that headless body over there. "Off course. You're welcome to join my pack. Jayden, please arrange some transport for these wolves and Olivia can drive with us along with Liam and his sister." I tell him and he nods, retrieving his cellphone from his pocket. Olivia looks at my mate with a sad smile, she then looks at me. "Thank you for saving her and the rest. I have heard their screams every day, I'm the one you filled the complaint to you, my King." A tear run down her cheek and I can only imagining how their lives most have been. "Transport is ready, Alpha. Lets go home." Jayden grins and I shake my head, that boy is always a big smile. I walk over to my mate and pick her up, bridal style. The sparks that run over my body from her touch, makes unease. She will be my ending.
