Chapter 7

Valens POV

I slam the door closed before I turn my attention to my dear beta. He looks pale as he keeps his head down. I slam him up against the wall and close my hand around his neck.

"You will never look at my mate again like that. Am I clear?" I snarl into his face. He gulps before he nods.

"Yes Alpha. I didn't mean too. I'm sorry." He explains and I remove my hand. He takes a deep breath. He looks into my red eyes and I take back the control. Cain is furious right now but he's my best friend. No need to kill him. 'Yet.' Cain snarls.

"You're playing a dangerous game with my wolf, Jayden. You know how possessive he is about her." I explain before patting his back. He gives me a smile before straightening himself a little.

"I'm really sorry. I thought she was decent. She said I could come in but I didn't know she was in the tub.." I roar before slamming him up against the wall again.

"Did you see her in the tub?!" I growl and release my aura. He's having trouble breathing. Cain is snapping his teeth in my mind, begging for me to snap his neck. I take a deep breath to regain control and I succeed. I remove my hand once again before I go to the elevator.

"You will stay here as your punishment. Guard her with your life. If anything happens while I'm in the town, I will let Cain have his fun with you." I smirk and he nods eagerly. He joins me in the elevator and we head down to my office.

"Why haven't you marked her yet?" He asks me with his usual calm and relaxed tone. I pinch my nose before giving him a cold stare.

"You know the traditions, Jayden." I sigh. I know there is an ancient tradition to wait a month before the binding ceremony but I don't give a s**t about traditions. I do things my way. But if I mark her now, I will hurt her. Cain is a beast, an uncontrollable monster.

"You don't give a s**t about traditions man, so why not just do it? Afraid Cain will hurt her?" He voices out my thoughts and it bucks me how well he knows me. The elevator stops and we walk down to my office.

"I already advanced it. It's scheduled for next friday." I tell him. I sit down behind my desk and open my computer.

"Really? Interesting." He mumbles to himself.

"Why?" I growl and he looks at me.

"Just very unusually of you to go against your first decision. The binding ceremony was scheduled for July 1sts and you advanced it almost two weeks. Interesting." He smirks.

"Shut up. Have you heard from Jacks alliances?" I ask him in my most ignorant tone.

"Ahh yes. I have. I found out at least 7 other Alphas knew about his.. well side business. But you need to ask Sage if any of them - you know." I growl out loud.

"I hate what they have done to her. I hate the scar on her face, it makes her look.." I stop talking, not finding the right words. I feel disgusted when I look at her scar but she's beautiful. She's the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

"Is that why you haven't accepted her yet? Because she's not virgin?" He questions at me. He gives me a glare and I return it.

"It's none of your business, Jay. Let me handle my mate." I tell him off but he scuffs.

"You don't fool me, V. You are falling head over hells for her and that's what scares you. Just don't punish her for what he did to her. She already felt it first hand. You need to accept it both for your sake and your packs. We need a Luna." He ends his speech and I growl.

"Mates make you weak, Jay." I state but he only laughs.

"You're so stupid. She is not a weak mate, she has been fighting since she was little kid. Her brother told me about Jacks tournaments." I raise my eyebrows. What tournament?

"What?" I ask him and he frown.

"Jack arranged tournaments between his slaves and rogues. Other Alpha would bet on the winners." I open my mouth in disbelief.

"Sage won everything. She's not weak." He states and I only shake my head.

"I know she's not weak. But she will make me weak if I fall for her. If she's captured, my wolf will lose it and I.. I will break my heart." I sigh out, frustrated by this hole situation. Jayden only laughs.

"That's just it. That's all I wanted to hear. You fear something will happen to her but that's the same reason you won't let anything happen to her." He says with a smile. He knows me to damn well. I rise from my chair and grab my travel bag. I pack some clothes before heading out the door. Jayden follows me with a smirk.

"You will not leave her side. Understood?" I tell him with a growl. He nods and I walk into the elevator.

The elevator door closes and I take a deep breath. She will be the end of me. I can't stand the thought of my own beta looking at her, how the hell will I ever let her out of that room?

I know she hates me. She ain't really subtle. But I have to keep her safe until the binding ceremony. If anyone get their hands on her, I will kill them in a heartbeat.

The elevator dings and the doors open. Omegas are running around in a haze, preparing for the binding ceremony. I have advanced it, I can't wait a whole month for her to be mine. I want my mark on her neck and her scent mixed with mine. I don't want anyone to question our mate bond. She is mine.

Cain snickers in my mind, feeling happy about my sudden need to have her. 'I wanted her the moment I saw her. But she's in danger, Cain. You know that as much as me.' I reason with him. 'But you want her and that's enough for me and her.' He reasons back. Stupid fur-ball.

One of the omegas, Chloe, approach me.

"Excuse me, your highness. Valeria told me about the Luna and she expected her down for breakfast. Do you want me to get something for her?" She keeps her head down in respect.

"Yes, that would be great, Chloe. Thank you." Her eyes snap to mine and she furrow her brows.

"I can be polite when I want, Chloe. Now hurry please. And get a rose in the garden for her too." I give her a small smile before heading to my car. I climb in the car and start the engine. I look up at my palace, my body wants to stay here with her but I have get this over with. I will be more focused when these meetings is out of the way. I sigh before I drive out of the gates. See you in a week, little mate.
