"Oari"
I uttered to myself. She's... beautiful. Her smile is so captivating. I was so mesmerized and felt like I was struck by a lightning the first time she smiled at me. I almost forgot the reason why I went there.
I work as a police officer here in the huge city of San Ildefonso. I've been here since after graduating from college.
Lumaki at nag-aral ako sa abroad. Umuwi na lang ako dito sa Pilipinas because my mom was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. I wanted to spend more time with her. She and my dad separated when I was 5. She came home here since then. And me and my sister had to come here to visit here every vacation we get. My parents are both Filipinos. I'm pure Filipino.
They met in California and then just after two years of dating, my parents got married. We lived in San Jose, California. My dad was a businessman, and my mom used to stay at home. Ever since, hindi na talaga maganda yung relationship nila. So they got divorced when I was 5.
I've been working here for 2 years now as a cop. I live with my mom in her apartment within the city. It's been just the two of us, coz my sister is still abroad.
Anyways, going back to my encounter with this drop-dead gorgeous woman earlier, I still can't believe I embarrassed myself right in front of her a couple of times.
Nakakahiya man, pero ilang beses akong natulala kanina. And I'm glad I didn't forget to ask for her name.
She looks like an angel.
She sounds like an angel.
She is just so dreamy. I wish I could see her around sometime. Might ask her on a coffee date or something, who knows?
God! I can't forget those eyes! And that damn smile! I can still clearly picture the dimples on both of her cheeks! Everything about her is just so cute! Everything about her is just beautiful!
Ang ganda ng mga mata niya. She looks like she has eastern asian blood. She's just like one of those K-pop idols in Korea.
Kutis-porselana yung skin niya.
I wonder if she's a model or something. She might just be. She's quite tall for a woman. Around 5'5 siya. Her hair is pretty as well. She has this long, black, shiny hair that's up to almost her waist. It also has natural beach waves that makes her look more naturally beautiful.
I wonder is she still thinks about me.
Kailangan talaga naming mahuli yung suspek.
------------------------------------------------
It was already past 7 when I got home.
I arrived at my mom's apartment and I saw my mom preparing the foods for dinner on the table.
“There you are, handsome! Perfect timing!
I put my hands on my waist after and walked towards my mom.
“Ma, you know you don't to do this everyday, right?" I kissed her cheek once I got closer to her.
It's not a problem, honey! Come on, now.
“Kasi ma, you're not supposed to tire yourself. I can just ask manang Luz to cook for us na lang or di kaya I can just buy outside.
“Stress? Louis, what are you even talking about?" paglilinaw niya habang inaayos ang headscarf niya.
She then lifted her index finger in front of me as if she's shushing me.
“I find it therapeutic, Louis. I mean... after all, you love my cooking, don't you? And this is how I want you to remember me, son. I want you to remember me as a strong woman whom despite everything that's happening, nakukuha ko pa rin na asikasuhin ang napakapogi kong anak. Though, I really wish Lira comes home already so I can spend time with you both" medyo malungkot yung tono niyang sinabi ang mga salitang ito.
She held my hand and let out a bitter smile. She's a very strong person. She's not even shedding a single tear upon saying these words.
“You sure, ma? Just please don't overdo it, kay? And don't worry, ma. Malapit na umuwi si Lira. I love you, ma. We got this together, kay? Gagaling ka." sagot ko sa kanya as she laid her head on my shoulder. I kissed her forehead and after, we finally started digging into the food.
By the way, Lira is my sister's name.
But I really hope she comes home sooner coz mom misses her a lot already.
