Chapter 1: The proposition
William Grayson,CEO of grayson enterprises, stood behind his desk ,gazing out the floor to ceiling windows of his office .
The city skyline stretched outbefore him , a testament to his success. But as he turned back to face his asistant Mady, he felt a familiar sense of frustrtion.
"Mady , i need you to find me a new secretary immediately".
Mady nodded ,her eyes already scanning her notes .
I'll get the ads up right away ,sir".
But William wasn't looking for just anyone .
He needed someone with specific set of skills -someone discreet, efficient, and willing to make a deal.
That was when Mady mentioned Lisa's name.
Lisa, the quiet ,reserved secretary who had impressed William with her intelligence and poise during a previous meeting.
He remebered her sharp mind and quick wit.
"Call her in", William said ,a plan forming in his mind.
Lisa walked into the office, her heels clicking on the polished marble floor. She had been summoned to William
Grayson's office without much explanation, and she couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest.
As she approached the reception desk, Mady, William's assistant, looked up and smiled. "Ah, Lisa, right on time. Mr. Grayson is waiting for you."
Lisa nodded, smoothing her dress.
She had met William Grayson once before, when she had interviewed for a different position at Grayson Enterprises.
She had been impressed by his intelligence and confidence, but also a little intimidated.
Mady led her to the door of William's office and knocked twice before opening it. "Lisa's here, sir."
William looked up from the papers on his desk, his eyes locking onto hers. "Ah, Lisa. Thank you for coming in."
Lisa smiled and walked in, taking a seat in front of his desk.
"Good morning, Mr. Grayson."
William leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "Lisa, I appreciate you coming in on short notice.
I have a proposition for you."
Lisa's curiosity was piqued.
She leaned forward slightly, her eyes never leaving his.
"I'm listening, Mr Grayson."
"I need a secretary who can handle a high level of discretion and professionalism," William began.
"Someone who can not only manage my schedule but also accompany me to social events and...pretend to be my girlfriend."
Lisa's eyebrows shot up. "Pretend to be your girlfriend?"
William nodded. "Yes.
It's a temporary arrangement, lasting about a month.
I'll provide you with a substantial sum of money, and in return,
you'll need to be available to me at all times."
Lisa's mind was racing.
What kind of game was William Grayson playing?
And why did she get the feeling that there was more to this proposal than met the eye?
"I'm intrigued, Mr. Grayson," Lisa said slowly. "But I need to know more about what this arrangement entails."
William smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"I thought you'd say that.
Let's discuss the details, shall we?"
