When You Are Alive There is Still a Hope

Chapter 6

Everybody in life needs a second chance. Even if people can't give you one and judge you but God always gives us second chances. If you are given a second chance it's up to you whether you make good use of it or you ruin it again.

Sylvester Fox was the one in a millions who was given a second chance. He was prisoned at the age of 16. He was charged with carrying illegal weapon, house breaking, robbery and r**e. He was sentenced two life imprisonment. His parents has already gave up on him because of his behavior. He was never a filial child ever since childhood. His parents always pay compensation for those he stole and wronged them. At last they got tired because he always does this and never get punished.

When he was in prison, things changed. He regretted all the bad things he has done. He missed his parents so much especially his mother who always doted on him no matter what he has done. There was a pastor called Pastor Smith who used visit to prisons to preach prisoners. Sylvester has experienced all sort of abuse and bully at the jail. His life was miserable and he regretted all the bad things he had done in his life. When Pastor Smith preached one day, Sylvester was touched.

"I greet you all in the name of the Lord. My name is Pastor Smith and I believe in Christ Amen. Jesus has rescued me when I sinning and today I walk in the light of the Lord Amen. Today I wanna tell you the good news. You can still change your life and your ways. God loves you all brothers and sisters. He is God of a SECOND CHANCE. Praise the Lord, hallelujah!"

Prisoners: Amen.

"Praise the Lord." Said Pastor.

Prisoners: Amen

" Today we gonna get the scripture on our bibles Palsms 29 verse 3. It is read as follows: 3The voice of the Lord is over the waters;

the God of glory thunders,

the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

4The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is majestic.

5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;

the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,

Sirion like a young wild ox.

7The voice of the Lordstrikes

with flashes of lightning.

8The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;

the Lordshakes the Desert of Kadesh.

9The voice of the Lord twists the oaks

and strips the forests bare.

And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

10The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;

the Lord is enthroned as King forever.

11The Lord gives strength to his people;

the Lord blesses his people with peace.

" The lord may Bless today's scripture hallellua!

Prisoners: Amen

"The Lord can break all the curses upon your life. He will forgive you because he is a forgiving God. He sent his only son on earth to die for us so that our sins will be washed away. Today I invite you all my beloved to take Jesus as your savior. Today all your sins will be washed away and be a born again. Remember he gave Paul a second chance, he can forgive. Those who wanna break the curses and welcome Jesus as the their savior may raise their hands. Praise the Lord!

Sylvester was touched and raised his both hands. Tears were flowing on his cheek's. He went forward and kneeled in front of a pastor.

"God Bless you my brother."

Sylvester: ...........(crying)

" Lord is our peace and righteousness. He is love. Even when the world has given up on you. He will never forsake you. He is God who always keep his promises. Bring all your burdens upon him, he will relieve you."

" Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah". Sylvester was shouting Hallelujah as a mad man. The holy ghost took over. Tears were still flowing. His body was trembling but his voice was loud and clear.

" Amen! Father Lord I thank you."

"Hallelujah! Lord have mercy on me." Said Sylvester who was still on his knees.

" God sees you my brother. He forgives you. You also have to forgive yourself. Let's close our eyes".

The congregation stood up and close their eyes.

Pastor he began to sing. * You're Alpha and Omega we worship you my Lord. You are worthy to be praised. We give you all the glory, we worship you my Lord you are worthy to be praised.

Sylvester"Bless me now Lord. Bless me Lord. HALLELUJAH."His hands was still up and he was still kneeling down. Tears kept rolling his face.

" Let's close our eyes. I will pray for you. Come forward if you want Jesus to renew and save your life come forward, he is calling up on you. Come foward. This huge gig is for you. Come and free your life."

The other prisoners came forward and kneel infront of a pastor. Their hands were up, some of them tears were flowing and they couldn't control themselves. They could feel that the burdens on their shoulders was lifted up.

"Father Lord I thank you. I thank you for these lives you gonna save. These are your children, they are calling up on you. They are begging for your forgiveness. Please forgive them father for their sins. They calling up on your mercy. Have a mercy upon their lives. Release them in the chains of Satan. BLESS THEM FATHER. oooh Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You are great father, thandalaboshkhana huriyandalabosh * speaking holy tongues* "Amen".

Prisoners: Amen

"God Bless you all and just know that God loves he said in his word come to with all your sins no matter how much you have sinned I will wash them away. So my beloved you must always remember that God is love. Right now you are given a second change, please grab it and make good use of it." Said Pastor.

Prisoners: Amen

After church everybody was happy so the environment was much lovier.

Sylvester was now a born again and his life changed like that. After few months he got a parole. Just after he got out he met his old freind who almost looted him to do bad and horrible thing. He was almost tempted but luckily he didn't do it. He planned that he must go back to his parents home after he was released and ask for forgiveness and showed that his life has changed, he is no longer the rude and heartless Sylvester they knew.

***BACK IN HOSPITAL ****

Tommy Knight was discharged today after an observation from the doctors and they advised her to go through counseling atleast once a week.

"Miss Tommy, I have good news for you." Said doctor.

"Tell me about it Doc I am listening."

She was much better than the first time she arrived in hospital. Her face was pale as if she had no blood at all.

"You are free to go home today but you still have to continue with a counseling."

"Oh yes doctor, thank you so much. How is Mr Alpheos? Is he still in the hospital?"

"He is fine. He asked to be discharged but he has to come for checkup almost everyday until he gets better."

"I see. Please thank him for me doctor. I don't know if he came a moment later what would've happened to me."

Tommy was sad, her body couldn't help but tremble when she thought about the incident, she was sad because she couldn't thank Alpheos personally but at the same time she was relieved that he was getting better.

" I will thank him for you miss Tommy you can rest assured. Don't think about these things now, you should be grateful because you're alive.

" Yes doctor, I'll try. Thank you so much.

The doctor didn't say anything else, he noded and left.

*****ICU WARD********

The situation was getting worse and worse on the thug that was bitten by Alpheos. His name was Cane April. He is known as " Killer". He is still lying on the hospital bed fighting for his life. His arrogance and stupidity put him on hospital. The doctors were trying their best but they were losing hope now because it seems like the patience was resisting treatment. He was lying there lifeless, his face was pale and there was no arrogance. The were different pipes and machines connected on his body to support him. The doctors were still surprised that he was still alive inspite of his condition. They even said that if he wakes up he should praise the Lord forever because he was given another chance of life.
