When You Are Alive There is Still a Hope

Chapter 2

Alpheos was stabbed on his arm but the wound was not so deep because thug was scared of him.

When he realized he was stabbed he got enraged and went forward to a thug. He kicked the thug on his abdomen and the thug fell down and Alphoes got a chance to go on top of him and punch him so many times the leds to a thug unconsciousness.

"Alpheos you gonna kill him man let it go! he's already passed out, let it go or you'll be arrested do you want that? Said James who was panicking.

He has never seen his friend so angry it's like he was possessed by the demons, he was not himself anymore. Even his eyes were bloodshot.

James grab the girl who was still down and try to take out his phone out of the pocket so that he can switch on the light. Alpheos was really bleeding when James realised that Alpheus was stabbed and there was a blood he was so frightened in such a way he almost lost his balance.

When Alpheos heard James's voice he sighed with anger and cursed in a low voice but soon he came back to his senses. When he try to get up he got dizzy and his steps staggered and he almost almost fell. He managed to stabilize himself and found the place near the stone and sit there.

"Alpheos hang in there I am going to call the ambulance and cops ". Said James with a trembling voice.

"Who are you young lady"? Asked Alpheos while trying to hold on his wound with his handkerchief to stop bleeding.

" My name is Tommy Knight from BEEZET location". They young lady was still frightened and her voice was hoarse, her whole body was trembling due to fearness but she had no choice but to trust these man who rescued and saved her life from criminals who wanted to take her virginity by force.

Alpheos was dizzy and was on pain so he didn't continue to talk. He was frowning hard. He thought of calling his wife and inform her of the situation. When he was about to search the phone on his pocket, the ambulance arrived and the cops cars also arrived. The paramedics rushed to them and saw that there is a woman in her twenties and three guys, one is unconscious and the other is also bleeding. They attended them and pushed them with their stretches to the car while James was briefing them. The police also wanted the statement but the paramedics denied them and said that the had to rush the patients to hospital. Now,it was not a good time, so the agreed and said they will follow to the hospital.

ON THE EMERGENCY ROOM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

When they arrived, the doctors attended them and took the young lady for check up while Alpheos was treated on his wound. James was waiting for them on the waiting area. He kept on praying for his stubborn freind because he has lost so much blood.

The result came back soon and the doctor explained softly to the young lady.

"Miss Tommy your results are here, you are lucky they didn't violate you but you have post-trauma which is caused by the incident. I have prescribed you some sleeping pills and counseling because it's compulsory, you need it. How are you feeling now miss Tommy?" Asked the doctor with the smile after briefing her.

" I am fine doc thank you for asking." Replied Tommy with a trembling voice.

"You have a strong and loving boyfriend.. what a lucky girl?"Said the doctor with a smiling face.

" He is not my boyfriend doc. Actually they bump into the incident and save my life. I don't even know his name." Said Tommy blushing with embarrassment since the doctor misunderstood her.

"Ouch! My bad, I thought..."

he didn't finish the sentence and apologized.

"It's OK doc..how is he anyway? I am praying for him to be OK. His family should be worried right now." Said Tommy with a concerned look.

"He is a strong man, he will survive, even though the wound wasn't deep but he lost a lot of blood but he is out of danger now and his wound is treated."

"Thank you for your help Doctor".

"I am doing my job, you are welcome". the doctor nodded and left.

Tommy was frightened especially now that she was alone on the ward when she thought about the incident. She couldn't imagine what would've happened if Alphoes arrived later. She cried silently until her eyes got swollen and soon she fell asleep due to medication.

It was 12H00 in the middle of the night but still James hasn't left the hospital yet. He was dosing off on the hospital chairs because he was tired, he was from work. But he couldn't leave his freind behind. He was scared even to call Alpheos's wife and inform her.

While he was still thinking his phone rang, he took it out to check who has some nerve to call him in the middle of the night. When he saw the caller ID name on the screen, he panicked and almost throw the phone down as it is seem to become hot as the potato. He decided not to answer. The phone continued to ring until the call ended. James sigh but before he relaxed the phone rang again it was still the same number but he was so scared to answer the phone. He decided to ignore the call and switched off the phone.

Alpheos was fast asleep on hospital bed because of the injection the doctor gave him.

James came to a ward just to observe the situation since no one briefed him about Alpheos's condition. When he was about to push the door open, the doctor stopped him.

"Mr James you still here?" Said the doctor with a smiling face.

"Yes doctor I couldn't live my freind behind without knowing his current condition. How is he doing by way? Is it really bad?"

He asked the doctor but he was clenching his fist trying to calm himself.

"He is out of danger even though he lost a lot of blood but we managed to stabilized him and we have supplied him with blood since his blood type is a usually one. He is a strong man. You are indeed a true freind Mr James." The doctor was explaining to James about Alpheos condition but he left the wound part so James was a bit dissatisfied but because the doctor praised him of being a caring freind, he was happy but still worried because the doctor seemed to hide something.

"His wound was not deep you can rest assured Mr James. I gave him injection to easy the pain so he can sleep. Your freind is brave. I really admire him, I don't want tobimagine what would've happen to a young lady if he didn't come."

" He is brave indeed doc. Can I see him now please doc, his wife has been calling non stop and I couldn't answer the phone because I didn't want to worry her." James was surprised that the doctor could read his mind.

" Even though it's not visiting hours I will allow you because you have been waiting for too long and it's in the middle of the night now but please don't wake him up."

The doctor nodded and left.

******MERRY POV*****

I was tossing and turning on the bed worrying about my husband's whereabouts. Alpheos has never been late and never switched off his phone. "Its not his style.Is he cheating on me?" When i was still thinking, the thought rushed to my head to call his good freind James maybe they are being held at work. "What if bad thing happen to him? Oooh my God please protect him I can't live without him especially now I am pregnant and I haven't told him the good news". I said a small prayer before calling James. I called him but my hands were trembling because i was nervous but the phone kept ringing no one was answering. I tried again but still no one was picking up. I got worried and started crying sorrowful but then i remembered that i was pregnant so i have to calm down before i affect the baby on my belly. I got up and put on a gown and sleeping shoes and went to a kitchen to drink water so i can calm myself. I tried calling James again but his phone was on voicemail now. " Aaah wha to do now?" My mind was in a mess, I went back to bed and prayed for their safety and tried to sleep but still I couldn't sleep. My heart was beating fast and I had this uneasiness feeling as if I will hear bad news. Early In the morning i woke up early than the normal days but still my husband hasn't returned. My heart ached because i didn't know what happened to my husband, whether something bad happened to him or he has started cheating on me. I didn't know what to think but I can see that I am about to have emotional breakdown.
