Chapter Sixteen In all the time Lacie sat by her bed, Sorcha kept her eyes on the baby in the plastic hospital crib next to them. Lacie might have expected Sorcha’s terror, but the awesome wonder was a surprise. Most people must have a sense of incredulity that they had created a life.
