CHAPTER 6

POV: ARA

Waking up the following morning i had

my bath,got dressed stepped out of my room and decided to get something to eat first before starting my day officially; stepping out of the hotel i wandered down the street enjoying the morning view of the city,i walked into a Cafe at the side of the street walking straight towards the counter and placing my order of one cappuccino and cinnamon rolls, taking my order to an empty table as i digged in immediately so as not to miss my appointment at my school this morning; done with breakfast i went to trash the waste at a bin and i felt a tap on my shoulder turning around and i was met with the smiling face of Chris and i was stunned for a bit and regained my composure almost immediately. Good morning miss Ara, Chris said still smiling and i decided to let my guard down just this time as i smiled and said good morning to you too mister Chris and we both laughed and shook hands, where are you headed to this early he asked ,oh i have an appointment in school this morning i said,oh really i do too if you don't mind we can head there together he offered and i accepted as we both exited the Cafe.

So Ara how long have you been in California he asked trying to start a conversation and i smiled as i answered just a week,oh me too i have always lived in New York i also just arrived a week ago, do you know the flight i was to board to California was cancelled and postponed and there was no tangible reason he said and i was surprised same happened to me and i was pissed i said jokingly and we laughed it off as we flagged down a taxi boarding it to our school and we both went our separate ways as we were not in the same faculty; i headed straight to the dean's office and completed all my necessary registrations and i decided to familiarize myself with the school before the start of the school year so i wandered around the halls, passage ways, cafeteria, field and i stopped at the library deciding to check it out before i leave as it was already getting late but as i stepped into the library i was stunned by the masterpiece of the designs and architecture done in the room it was breathtaking everything about it was the chandeliers, the floor to ceiling windows absolutely everything was beautiful and i knew within me that this was about to be my favorite spot during the time i spent studying in this school. I wandered around the library from shelves to shelves, from tables to tables and i was drawn towards all of it as i took a sit close to the window looking at the scenery outside and it was so nice and cool and i loved all of it . I took my phone out of my bag and wanted to take a picture and i was shocked by how much time has passed as i hurriedly got up and dashed out of the library and headed outside so i can get a ride back to the hotel as i was thinking this i flagged down a cab and got into it and gave the address to the driver,as we were getting close to the hotel i had a change of mind and decided to go get something to eat first before heading to the hotel so as not to come back outside after getting in so i stopped at a nearby eatery and i ordered burgers and french fries as i sat down to eat i decided to go through my phone and see if i have any job offer to design any new architectural designs but instead i saw an email and i was about to ignore it but i decided against it as i opened the email and i was shocked by its content as i read and reread i was so excited that i almost shouted out of excitement but i remembered that i was in a place filled with people so i decided to step out to get some fresh air before i loose my f*****g mind,on getting outside i read the email again which was offering me a job at their office ,it was an architectural company that offered me a position as a designer at their company asking me to come over for an interview if i was interested and i was overly interested because i have been job hunting online that seeing this was so exciting for me and i immediately click accept and headed to my hotel for the night so as to get ready for the interview the following day. On getting to my room door i was frightened by a voice only to see it was just Chris, hello Ara how was your day, were you able to finish your registrations today he asked and i replied excitedly telling him about the library and the other place i visited in the school today and he smiled then i should let you have some rest seeing that you had a busy day today he said and i nodded waving him good night as i got inside my room at last as i squealed in excitement as i went through my wardrobe looking for something to wear for my interview tomorrow and i decided on a stylish two piece that i love so much and i went to have my bath deciding to sleep on time so as to wake up early for the interview tomorrow.

I woke up early and got dressed for the interview and headed outside to wait for the taxi i had booked earlier and i didn't wait for long as it arrived almost immediately i got outside the hotel and i headed directly to the company. On getting there i went straight to the receptionist desk and showed her the email i received asking me to come for an interview and she smiled as she directed me to an empty room telling me to wait for some time as someone would join me shortly and i accepted and true to her words a Man walked into the room all smiles and said hello Miss Ara i am surprised you honored this interview immediately and i smiled oh yes i did as much as i don't like wasting my time i don't like wasting others time too so here i am i said and he smiled that's impressive he said i am Mr Trent by the way and i would be conducting the interview so please take your sit and i did as i was told; let me be straightforward with you Miss Ara we have seen your work and we are impressed by your designs and we would like you to be among our pro designer and truth be told we have bought a couple of your designs before through that platform for architects so we know about your diverse skills he said and i was excited but i didn't let my excitement show as i said i am greatly honoured by your offer and i really want to work with your pro designers but it would be unfair to you if i don't let you know about my current schedule, I'm doing my Masters programme and i won't be until a year and i would have to be in class and all but if you still want to employ me despite this i would be thrilled i said, oh that's not an issue as far you are able to give us flashy designs when we want them then the job is yours and you are free to go to school and get your degree. Then we went ahead to discuss my work schedule i was to come to work every working days except for the days i would be having class and i was ok with the whole arrangements and my salary was ten thousand dollars a month and it was ok for me for a start and i was to resume work the following Monday. Good day Mr Trent i look forward to working with your team ,no problem Miss Ara see you on Monday he said smiling and i thanked him as i exited the office and the company in general as this was now my new working space and i was giddy with excitement.

I decided to get something to eat and stopped at a Cafe close to the company building and i ordered iced cappuccino and french toast and took a sit close to the window as i munched on my meal i was engrossed by the scenery outside, various company buildings surrounded the area and the company i am about to start working in was a little bit off the lane but still close to the clusters of companies in the area; finishing my meal i gathered my waste and headed towards the bin to dispose it off and i bumped into someone again and i began to think i have a fetish for bumping into people and i hurriedly stepped back apologizing and i was about to go my way when a hand grabbed me and said you again and i turned shocked to see it was the guy from the airport i had bumped into again and i was aghast, what if he wants to sue me for numerous bumping into him i know that's not possible but my thoughts were running wild so i decided to pretend that i don't know what he's talking about,huh? What do you mean me again i asked trying to seem confused but it was already too late, don't play the dumb card you know exactly what i am talking about he said while he stared at me expressionless but i wasn't about to give up without a fight.
