Fading Constellations

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lily. She was a typical teenager, dealing with the usual problems of growing up: acne, peer pressure, and navigating the complexities of high school relationships. However, what set her apart from other teens was the fact that she suffered from mental health issues. Her parents were emotionally and verbally abusive, making her feel worthless and unlovable on a daily basis. They expected perfection from her and would punish her harshly whenever she fell short. Her parents refused to get her therapy, allow her out of her house, hated the fact she had a school counselor, they made her out to be a psychopath, a bipolar mess, just like her mother; and school was definitely no different. One day, Lily's English teacher noticed her struggling to cope with the stress and reached out to her, offering support and encouragement. This small act of kindness made Lily feel seen and valued for the first time in a long while. As they began to bond over shared interests and their love for literature, Lily found herself confiding in her teacher about her home life. The teacher, concerned for her well-being, reported the situation to child protective services. Despite her feelings of gratitude towards her teacher, Lily couldn't help but develop romantic feelings for him. She found herself constantly thinking about him and craving his attention. One night, after a particularly difficult day at home, Lily confessed her feelings to him, hoping he felt the same way. To her dismay, he took advantage of her vulnerability and assaulted her. Traumatized and confused, Lily tried to brush off the incident as a misunderstanding, but it only happened again, and again. It was a normal school day when Lily's teacher cornered her in the empty classroom after hours. He had been drinking heavily and was clearly agitated. Before she could protest, he forced himself upon her yet again. Just as he was about to finish, Lily's world went black. When she regained consciousness, she realized that something was wrong; she couldn't move or speak. She slowly opened her eyes to see her teacher slumped over next to her, a pool of blood forming beneath him. Her rescuer was none other than her teacher's son, Riley, who had walked in on the horrific scene just in time. Horrified, he rushed to call 911 and administer CPR until the paramedics arrived. They arrested his father on the spot for attempted murder and s****l assault. With her teacher behind bars, Lily finally felt a sense of safety and freedom. She decided not to press charges against Riley, understanding that he had acted out of self-defense and was also a victim in this situation. As weeks passed, Lily and Riley continued to cross paths at school.
