THE VIEW OF IT ALL
'Keep moving!' Mr greenwood shouted, this was the sixth day of them journeying through the Red desert. They had about three days more to journey through the desert, but the blacks being moved from the ancient city of Gandam had grown very weak and they can barely move on.
The incident that happened barely two weeks ago remains very fresh in the memory of Gandam's people, how they had lost the war to the British Army. There was no dought that the men of Gandam had no match for the British army in all areas. The British had modern warfare arms rather than the Gandam who depended on arrows, swords and gunpowders.
Many men of Gandam had loss their lives and the few left are the ones being carted away along with the all the women and children of the town. This was just the beginning of unseen suffering for the people of Gandam and their future generations, if they had known they would have submitted themselves in peace to the British empire but it is too late now.
The Gandams will arrive at the city of Manchester soon, they will be kept in the prison for some time before the Prime Minister makes a decision on what duties will be assigned to them. Two pregnant women had died during the course of the journey, and based on the present state of the people of Gandam you can be sure that more people will loss their lives.
Mr Greenwood who led the victorious Army is a man of 39 years, smart, well built physically and also a very charming young man. He was married with two children, and was in charge of fifty thousand arm men. He may be little in age compared to other soldiers but that has not stopped him from achieving greatness.
The commander of the Gandam's army whose name is Kofi has been killed, this happened when he tried to escape. He was killed along side the King and a couple of chiefs who tried to escape the war. The british also carted away a great deal of ancient artifact and the annual tax that the people of Gandam paid from the money gotten from their farm products.
The king of Gandam had earlier decised to bow to the will of the white men,but Kofi who wanted to show his strength persuaded the king not to give in to their wills. The king said in a meeting he held with Kofi and the Chiefs 'I have decised to accept the will of the white men out of pure love for the people of....'. Kofi cuts in angrily' objection my Lord! If you truely love the people of this great kingdom you wont have to go back on your decision to reject this deadly bid this white people have proposed'
The king sighs and then replies 'all this is for peace to reign, this white men are stronger than us in all ways. If we accept their bid they would treat us kindly, we must avoid a war with this people'. Kofi replied 'my King wars are meant to be fought, this people wont treat us kindly just like they did to the people of Ihofa. They will steal away our precious Gold and also make us their slaves, nonsense! Not while i live my King'
Kanu one of the chiefs supported what kofi had said. Kanu started by greeting the king he then stated that 'this white men are not interested in growing any tobacco for us as they have said ,they are mainly after our gold and it is up to us to stand our ground by saying No! to their cruel request. My king I will want you to ponder on this issue and make a good decision that will favour the people of Gandam'. A week later the chiefs and other invited guests met with the king, after kolanut had been distributed to them all the king sat up and said 'I greet everyone present as this meeting, as we all know the situation on ground I will tell you all my final decision on it now'. On hearing this every at the meeting sat up and said...
