And so they meet

The Alpha's Hunter  Chapter 3: And so they meet Damien looked at Mason who seemed to be on edge. They were on their way to meet the Storme Hunter Representatives and one of them was Mason's mate. Damien had no idea how his alpha was going to handle this situation. He had no idea how to handle it so he was sure that Mason had no idea what to do too.  "What do I do? What do I do?" Mason kept mumbling to himself. "What if he's older than me? Or younger? Or not into guys? What if he doesn't like me? What if he tries to kill me? What if his company or his parents try to kill? What if he's an actual Storme?!"  "Mace, relax," Damien told him. "Don't let your wolf take over and don't talk if it's too much for you. I can do all the talking." He was not used to seeing his alpha like, it was weird. "Let's take this one step at a time. Okay?"  "You're right, I might be worrying over nothing," Mason mumbled as they walked.  A warrior of the Moon Howlers had come to get them about five minutes ago. Damien sent the warrior back to say that they would be there soon after he calmed down his alpha. Mason wasn't normally one to get overwhelmed, but when it happens, s**t could hit the fan.  Damien noticed a lot of other alphas and a few betas outside the office of Moon Howlers Alpha Justin's office. Nearly all of the East Territory leaders were there. His eyes searched the crowd. There were five packs missing, but he was sure they would be here shortly.  "Alpha Mason!" a beta grinned as he walked over. Damien grinned seeing the other. "Beta Damien!"  "Yo Beta Hayden!" Damien grinned at the other. Shaking his hand. Damien and Mason got along with Hayden and his alpha. "How are you and your boss doing? How's your pack? Heard you met your mate. How is she?"  "Lola is good! She can't wait to meet you," Hayden told the other. "My boss is fine. Off sulking, because he had to come here and light the miss the birth of his first pup."  "Luna Parker went into labour?" Mason asked after hearing that.  "No, but he's due any day now and Alpha Jake doesn't want to miss the birth and all," Hayden explained to them. "How are you guys? Met your mates yet?" Mostly looking at Mason when he said that. Unmated Alphas were dangerous after all. It was why many alpha's tried to get their sons or daughters to find their true mate or pick a mate for them. So they didn't have to worry about it.  "We might have found my alpha's, but there are a few problems surrounding the matter," Damien replied honestly.  "What? Like a pack member or daughter of someone you guys aren't on good terms with? Or it is a guy and Alpha Mason isn't into guys?" Hayden asked curiously. "Please tell me it isn't one of the Blacke Siblings, because Alpha Mason is f****d if it is." "No, no. Nothing like that," Damien laughed lightly. "But Mace is f****d nevertheless." "What do you mean?" Jake asked as he walked over. He was still sulking, but it was mostly obvious to Damien, Hayden and Mason. Though Mason himself was very distracted. Jake and Mason were like best friends after all.  "It's human," Damien told him in a quiet whisper. "Mace's mate is human, one of the Stormes."  "What?!" the two shouted making everyone look at them.  "What is he going to do?" Jake asked Damien.  "No idea, hence why Mace is like this," Damien replied as he pointed at his alpha.  Mason seemed to be inside his head, talking with his wolf. They seemed to be arguing or disagreeing about things. Even though he had been to ask about Luna Parker. It made Damien wonder if Mason had heard the answer.  The other five-pack leaders got there not long after and Damien could see that Mason was tense and nervous. Though, the black-haired male was doing a very good job at hiding it. As Damien looked around, he saw a few of the betas and a few gammas were looking at their alphas. It seemed a few were nervous or maybe tense. But Damien knew it had nothing to do with the same reason why Mason was nervous. Well, not the full sane reason why.  They were all teams and/or nervous because of the Stormes. Though Mason was because none of them was his mate and they were sure the hunter had no idea.  It had Damien wondering about who the hunter was. How was he or she?  What did they look like? Who were they are as a person? Would they hate Mason for being a werewolf? Would they reject his alpha? Would they accept being a Luna? There were a million other questions going through Damien's head and he knew that they were going through Mason's mind too.  "Are we dressed nicely enough for this? Are we overdressed?" Damien asked his wolf through their mind link. "Do you think the Luna will like us and Mace?" "We might be overdressed but I think it will make a good impression on our Luna," his wolf replied. "I don't know if they will like us or Mace and Scott. I would hope so since they were made for them, but you never know. Let's remain calm and try to get a read on them." "The Storme Reps will meet you now," Alister, the oldest Blacke sibling said as he was at the door.  Damien thought it was nice and kinda cute of Alister to give up his right and title of alpha to go with his mate, who was another alpha here. She was one of the few female alphas and everyone knew Alister Blacke was her Luna.  The group all moved in slowly, the office was big enough for everyone. There was no order to stand in so Mason and Damien stood with Hayden and Jake. The room was almost spilt now that Mason saw it.  The alphas all for Alpha Justin's ideas were standing close to him while the others who were against were standing near Mason. And a third good who seemed undecided. Mason almost smirked in trumphantly seeing Alister's mate standing with him and not her soon to be father-in-law. It also seemed out of the thirty-five packs of the East, including the Moon Howlers, only twelve were for the idea, seventeen were against it and six were undecided.  Mason saw the Storme Hunter Repestivivea near the Blackes. He knew they were best them because of introductions, not because they were on the Moon Howlers Pack side. Though Mason couldn't stop the small growl that came from his wolf Scott when he saw Connor Black hugging the small Storme Hunter. The one who was meant to be his and Mason's mate. He looked so young. Just how old was he?  There were three blonds, a silver-haired guy and an orange-haired male. Those five were the hunters and the blonds all looked alike, especially the older two who Mason would guess would be about his age. He was sure they were the smaller blond's brothers. The three of them looked and smelled alike, but the small blond was his mate. Mason could smell it.  "My name is Matthias Storme, and these are my brothers Adrian and Jaycen Storme," the leader of the group told them. "With us are Carter Andersen and Andrew McCloud. Is it an honour to be here to help you with your meeting." Bowing and the other four following his lead.  Mason watched as Jaycen, the smallest blond he think was his name. Such a cute name. He watched as Jaycen was looking at them, seeming to be trying to identify them all.  Mason felt his heartbeat quicken when he noticed that Jaycen saved him for last and was staring at him a little. That was good right? For him to be staring at him? Should he say something now?  "Jaycen?" Matthias asked, noticing his brother was staring at someone. Frowning a little as he looked at the werewolf. Which pack and leader was he again? He was on the younger side and the names were there on the tip of his tongue. "Is everything okay?"  "Yeah, sorry," Jaycen smiled as he looked up at his brother. "My brain was going overdrive remembering the files. I kinda blanked out."  Matthias and Adrian laughed lightly. When Jaycen was in his head for long, he would blank out and stare into nothingness. So that must have been it. He wasn't looking at anyone, he was just going over the information in his head.  Mason wondered if that was a lie or the truth. If it was the truth, then it a little to hear that Jaycen was only staring at him because he blanked out.  Connor Blacke touched Jaycen Storme again and Mason couldn't stop his wolf from snarling at the younger wolf. It catch he's attention. It was a very possessive snarl.  The orange haired hunter, Carter, had Jaycen behind him. The other three had his weapons out. Matthias a sword, Andrew a scythe and Adrian a bow and arrow. Carter had a dagger in his hand. The four of them were very protective of the blond teen. But it only had Scott, Mason's wolf, snarlling a little more.  "Our apologies, Storme Hunter Resprestives!" Damien told them as he lowered Mason's head quickly. "We do not mean any disrespect!"  "Then why are you snarling like they had something precious from you?!" Alpha Justin shouted at them. A few other older alphas agreed.  "I…" Mason said trying to work out how to explain it as his eyes landed on Jaycen.  "He's your mate!" Connor shouted, shocking a few people. Everyone turned and looked at Connor. "I mean… it's Jay or me… I only hear snarls like that when someone is touching mum and dad doesn't like… or that time when Alister almost ripped Alex's head off for kissing his mate…" He has heard the snarl from a few people when they find their mate and other's are either keeping them apart or are touching them.  "It was a dare and I didn't know she was Al's mate at the time!" Alexander shouted in defence when a few people looked at him.  "Is this true Alpha Mason? One of the Stormes is your mate?" one of the other Alphas asked.  "....yes," Mason said as his eyes locked onto Jaycen. "I only found out when I smelled him from my room when they arrived in Alpha Justin's pack and we're outside." "What?" Matthias said confused as he looked to this Mason guy to his little brother, the one the guy was looking at. "You can't have my brother! He's seventeen!"  That information had a few werewolves confused and had Mason not looking at them.  "Alpha Mason Zayn and Beta Damien Light. They're in charge of one of the biggest pack in the Eastern Terroirty, the Black Crescents," Jaycen said as his eyes were locked on Mason. "Equal second largest pack with over 2,000 members with pack White Moons as its equal second biggest pack and the only pack bigger than them is Wild Runners with about 2,100 members. But The Black Crescents are gaining more members and I am the number will be bigger than the Wild Runners soon enough. Black Cresecents is near the Northern Border of the East Territory. He has been the pack Alpha since his parents were killed by Western Territory Rouge Hunters when he was 11." Jaycen could say more but he chose not too. He wouldn't blame Mason for hating hunters after what happened to his parents. It was sad really. Jaycen did think he was very hot and handsome with his blacker than night hair, pieces ears and dark coloured eyes. "When you say mate… do you mean you see me as your true mate?"  "Not see… smell," Mason told him honestly. The kid was a little scary. Mason felt like the kid knew a s**t more than he was saying, but at the same time. The alpha was thankful the other didn't say too much more. "I could smell from my room… my wolf said mate."  "Do you want me as your mate?" Jaycen asked the older male. Surprising everyone by that queation. Matthias and Adrian said nothing as Carter let Jaycen go. Grabbing Adrian's shoulder and Andrew grabbed the back of Matthias's shirt. Just in case they did something stupid. They have been told before to not interfere with werewolves and their possible mates. It could get them hurt or killed.  Carter wasn't sure if Jaycen could handle this, but he knew that werewolves don't hurt their mates, especially true mates. Not unless it's by accident or they do it on purpose. The orange haired hunter was staring at these Mason and Damien guys. Neither of them seemed to want to hurt Jaycen, so he should be fine.  "I want my true mate if that's what you mean," Mason answered calmly.  "Even if they're a hunter? Like me?" Jaycen asked him just as calmly back. The two of them were staring the other down. As if they were waiting to see what the other said. Wanting for a mistake or something.  "Even if they are a Hunter. The Moon Goddess choose them for a reason. It would be disrespectful of me not to want them, or at least to not why she choose that person for me," Mason replied.  There was an awkward silince for almost ten minutes. The two of them staring into each other's eyes and souls.  "My alpha is willing to take it slow," Damien said breaking the silence. "He will accept your decision of if you want to try or not, Luna."  "Jay?" Adrian said worried as his brother didn't say anything. "You thinking too much again?"  Mason rushed to the small blond as he suddenly collapsed. Easily catching him.  "He's overwhelmed again," Carter sighed as he let Adrian go and Andrew let Matthias go. The two of them racing over to the little brother. "He over thought and overwhelmed himself again." Walking over.  Mason let Adrian and Matthias touch Jaycen to check on him but he growled out when they tried to touch his mate from him.  "Alpha Mason," Carter said with a low bow to the black haired male. "I am medically responsible for Jaycen and his health. May I check your mate over since we are not in your pack territory and there for, your pack doctor can not check him. You are allowed to stay by Jaycen's side while he recovers and gives you an answer to your question." "Agreed, but only if he stays in my room," Mason replied with no room for arguments in his voice.  "If we are allowed as well, we will agree," Carter told him.  "You may," Damien replied before Mason could. "Mason and I will stay in my room in the room and you guys can take Mason's room." The guest rooms had two different bedrooms in it. The guest rooms were like mini-apartments with two or three bedrooms.  "I won't leave my mate's side, he'll need me to help his recovering Damien. You know that," Mason told his best friend.  "I know," Damien told Mason. "But my bed is always there if you need it alpha." In case Mason got rejected or if he couldn't handle the hunters for too long or if he was told by this Carter to rest. Then Mason could. Mason knew better than to go against a healers words. And it seemed this Carter guy was a healer of some kind.  If Jay chooses to date this Mason guy or to try giving his mate a try. Carter would need to make sure they know everything about Jaycen's medical records. They wouldn't force Jaycen to do it; it was his choice. Carter wondered what his young apprentice would choose. To try being the werewolf's mate or to reject him so he could try for a second chance?
