The Alpha's Hunter 4
Chapter 4: The Special Storme
The meeting ended there and everyone left the room. Alpha Justin and his family, the Storme Hunters, and Alpha Mason and Beta Damien waited until everyone else had left. Alister excused himself to go be with his mate and talk to her. He wasn't going to force her to join his father's side with wanting this kingdom of the east thing but he did want to know why she didn't want to do it.
Alpha Justin was in shock and trying to process the news. Alpha Mason Zayn, who was on the strongest, youngest and most annoying pain in his sides, he was mated to a Hunter! He was mated to a Storme fu-cking Hunter at that too!
Mason said nothing as the Stormes followed him and his beta out of the room. cleaning going to talk to him in private.
"Honey? Are you okay?" his wife asked after they were gone. She was deaf but her husband had been mind linking her or their beta did, to let her on what was going on. Plus she could read lips too. so she knew roughly what was going on.
"No… no… this can't be happening…" the man said to himself. Looking beyond stressed and pissed. Grabbing some glass cups, throwing them to the other side of the room and they shattered everywhere. "That bastard Zayn can't be mated to a Storme! This will ruin everything! He's already too strong as it is! Once he has his true mate, he'll be even stronger than before!" Hitting his desk and breaking it. He looked at his youngest son, Connor with pure hatred in his eyes. Which had the teen really confused because he didn't think he had done anything wrong. why was his father looking at him like that? "Did you know about this?!"
"W-What? No! Of course not dad!" Connor told his father, terrified as the man looked ready to kill him. Connor was the weakest out of the Blacke siblings. "I swear I didn't know dad! I didn't even know that Jay was coming! If I knew they were mates I would have told Jay not to come!" Sure he kept his friendship with Jaycen Storme a secret but he wouldn't have kept the secret of their greatest enemy having a mate secret! Not that he understood why Mason Zayn was an enemy. He was pretty cool and he knew Alister and Mason had been friends during their school days at one point it another. Connor wasn't sure if they had falling out or because his father hated Mason for whatever, that was the reason why they weren't friends anymore.
"Then make sure he rejects him! Or I will banish you!" his father ordered. Barely believing his son about not knowing about Mason being mates with Jaycen.
Connor went pale as did his sisters, brother and mother as they were shocked to hear that. Well as his mother was mindlinked that and she read her husband's lips. "B-Banished?" he asked in tears. His father was going to make him a rogue and banish him if he didn't try to get Jaycen to reject Mason as his mate? Why?! That wasn't fair! Not to Mason or Jaycen or to Connor himself. Mates we're meant to special and sacred things. what was his father thinking? The other alphas might not be too happy about this plan to force Connor to get Jaycen tonreject Mason.
"Justin! You can't just say that!" Sera shouted at him. "You can't do that!"
"I can and I will!" Justin shouted as he slapped her and then Connor. Leaving them all shocked. He wasn't normally one to get physical or abusive. So none of them were expecting this reaction from him. "No-one will save you Connor! Not Alexander or Alister. Not your sisters! And not your mother! You will do as I tell you or I will banish you right now!"
"Y-Yes father… I will do my best to convince Jaycen to reject Alpha Mason…" Connor said softly. Even if he really didn't want to. It felt so wrong to try and get between true mates like this.
"Not try your best. You will. Do it, or else," he told his son in a stern, non argumentative voice.
Connor nodded his head in agreement, trying to not cry. The young werewolf had no idea what he was going to do.
_
Later
Jaycen came to, very confused as he was in an unfamiliar room and had hazy memories of what happened. He was thinking… he was thinking about something important and overwhelmed himself by thinking too much and too hard. But what had he been thinking about again? How long was he out for this time?
"You're awake Jay," Adrian smiled seeing his brother sit up.
"Yeah… where are we? This isn't my room back home," Jay said confused as he looked around.
"We're travelling, remember? We're at the Moon Howlers," Adrian told his younger brother. "What do you remember last?"
"I was thinking… too much and too hard… but I don't know what about," the blond confessed.
"Your werewolf mate," Matthias told his brother outright. Not seeing the point in hiding it. He wasn't sure what Jaycen wanted to do about the situation but they needed to work out as soon as they could so they could organise things with not only Alpha Mason and his packs, but with their parents and the Hunter community as well. "A werewolf called you his mate and you asked some questions then you started overwhelming yourself by overthinking."
"I did?" Jaycen asked as he sat up in the bed. He looked around him and the room looked really nice. He also noticed it was later in the day too so he must have been out for a little bit.
"You did," Mason said as he was holding a tray of food. "Dinner stopped not long ago. I thought you could use something to eat when you wake up."
"Thank you…" Jaycen said looking at the black hair and dark coloured eyes male. "Alpha Mason Zayn, from the Black Crescents." Smiling his brain went through all the information at once to remember what it could be of the young and very good looking alpha.
"Anything for my mate," Mason smiled lovingly at the blond who went a little red with embarrassment. This older guy was his type. Tall but not too tall. Fit. Had muscles but wasn't too many muscle. Lean. And drop dead gorgeous. Jaycen never thought he would actually be paired with a werewolf, or that werewolf would be his ideal type. it was really nice but a bit nerve wrecking all at the same time. "How are you feeling?"
"Fine," the blond smiled as everything came to him. He did his best to not share the pain he felt from the memories flooding him. "I haven't answered your question yet… have I? About if… about if I wanted to date you or not…" Feeling very shy suddenly. What if they and Mason hated him? What if his father freaked out about the whole thing? How would Mason's pack react to a male and human luna? Were they expected to have children or something? What if they can't have children?! was it expected for Jaycen to be turned into a werewolf? The blond had so many questions swimming around inside his head.
"There is no rush," Mason smiled gently. "Yes I would like an answer as soon as possible, but if you need the week we have for the meeting to decide. Then I will respect that. I just ask that you understand…" Not sure how to word it or explain how mates work.
"That you need me to stay in this room with you because of the mate bond?" Jaycen asked him with a small smile. He remembered most of what he read about werewolves and their culture. "I understood. I'm not as strong as my brothers, but I read a lot. I studied up on pretty much all supernatural cultures. Werewolf culture is my favourite." It was always interesting to him. Maybe it was because of the mate bond between him and Mason? Or maybe his friendship with Connor.
"Thank you for understanding and already knowing. I wasn't sure how to explain it, since I have never had to explain it before," Mason smiled relieved.
"It's okay. It's for your health and mine so I don't mind," Jaycen smiled at the other. "Is it okay if Connor visits me though? Please? He's pretty much my best friend…"
"Connor Blacke?" Mason asked, not looking happy about it but he was doing his best to not let his wolf get angry about it.
"Yes please?" Jaycen asked, almost begging then softly and sadly added. "He's my only friend besides my brothers and mentor…" Andrew wasn't a friend, but he wasn't an enemy or anything either. They were indifferent about each other as they didn't have a lot to do with each other. But Jaycen knew that Andrew would protect him and his brothers with his life. He was a hunter after all, a Storme Hunter.
"Fine… but I don't want him by himself with you. He's not mated," Mason told Jaycen.
"O-Okay," Jaycen reluctantly agreed. He remembered reading in one of the books that werewolves are very protective of their mates, especially around unmated ones. But Connor was still a kid at only 17, but Jaycen didn't want to risk his friend's safety so agreeing was easier than arguing and Mason changing his mind and saying no. He hoped that Mason also let his brothers, Andrew and Carter stay with him too. The blond wasn't sure about being alone with the other since he was still a stranger. But at least he seemed nice. "What is your wolf's name?"
"Scott and mine is Mason, obviously," Mason replied with a smile. Earning a small laugh from the blond. "Humans are different to us werewolves… but humans do something like knowing partners before becoming mates? Or am I wrong?"
"Pretty much yeah. A lot of people are friends before they are boyfriends or girlfriends then fiancees and marriage," Jay nodded his head.
"Then we can all be friends before you decide if you want to date this i***t or not!" Damien grinned as he had some bags in his hands. Earning a book thrown at him by Mason.
"That would be nice," Jaycen smiled at the idea. Being friends first was a great idea!
Mason melted and he couldn't argue seeing how happy the suggestion made his cute little mate. "Friends first then…." he smiled back.
'But mate, Mason! We need to mark him so no-one else tries to!' his wolf complained.
'He's human and thinks differently to how werewolves do Scott. Give me some time to be friends and win him over, okay? Or do you want to scare him away and reject us?' Mason asked him.
'Well no… I guess we can wait…' Scott mumbled to his other half.
'That's what I thought,' Mason thought back to his wolf side. He wanted Jaycen to like him and he would do anything and everything in his power to make that happen. Expect, start a war with the Storme Hunters. That was the last thing he would do.
Jaycen took the tray of food and smiled happily as he ate. It was really good!
"Alpha Mason? A word," Carter asked him. The black haired male looked at him but nodded as he could see that he wanted to talk. Probably about Jaycen.
"Sure, mind if my beta joins?" Mason asked. He would rather Damien stay with him in case something goes wrong, Jaycen was stage with his brothers.
"Not a problem," Carter nodded his head as Adrian and Matthias were distracting themselves and Jaycen as they talked. Andrew was sleeping as he was going to have the night watch tonight.
"What did you want to speak to my alpha about?" Damien asked once they were out of the room. They actually went into Damien's room to talk.
"Who is your pack doctor?" Carter asked simply.
"Currently it's Dr Edward Newgate but Damien's younger brother Marco is training to replace him," Mason responded to the other. Not sure why it mattered.
"Do either of them know how to handle humans? Or mixed bloods?" Carter asked them. He figured he should let them know what they were getting themselves into with Jaycen before it was too late, or before anything bad could happen. "Or do they solely know werewolves?"
"Dr Newgate isn't a full blood werewolf," Damien replied to Carter. "He's a mixed blood. Werewolf, Weretiger, pixie, human, phoenix, vampire and more. He's ancient too because of it. Why?" Marco himself was half phoenix as well, a very rare werewolf because of his werewolf and phoenix mixed blood.
"... Jaycen is mixed blood," Carter replied to them softly.
"What? But I th-" Mason started until Carter put his hands up. He seemed to want to explain things to them so Mason shut his mouth and nodded his head. "Sorry, explain."
"Most hunters are humans by blood. But a few are halves or mixed blood," Carter explained to them. "Jaycen's father has nothing against hunters being with a supernatural if they're mates."
"That's cool, not many hunters are like that," Damien commented.
"Yeah, true," Mason nodded in agreement. But what did that have to do with Jaycen? And why and how did he get and have mixed blood? He smelled fully human to Mason and he knew that Damien agreed.
"Jaycen was really sick when he was younger," Carter told them. "His mother said he needed certain bloods to keep him well."
Bloods? What did Carter mean by that?
"I was young back then and didn't understand a lot but I helped my father who is the Storme Family Doctor," Carter told them. "His mother was the same way. He could only be given a certain blood and it had to be mixed."
"He? I thought Gregory Storme had a female human wife called Lydia?" Damien asked, even more confused. What and who was Carter talking about?
"Matthias and Adrian are the only ones besides myself and you two who know," Carter told them. "Not even Andrew knows."
"Knows what?" Mason said, confused.
"That Jaycen isn't their full blood brother, Jay is Matthias's and Adrian's half brother," Carter told them with a look. "He isn't Gregory and Lydia Storme's son. His father is Gregory Storme and his mother was Jason Payne."
"Payne? As in the Hunter Paynes of the North?" Damien asked, shocked to hear.
"Yes…" Carter nodded his head. Explaining what he could and what he knew. "Jason Payne was of mixed blood and he was living in our territory under the name Jain Petersen. He was disowned by his own father who told everyone he died in an accident, for reasons I don't know. It was how he came to the East, to escape his father trying to kill him. Gregory and him were mates."
"But they couldn't be together due to Lydia," Mason nodded in understanding.
"No, she was all for him to join. She wanted Jain aka Jason to get to know her and love her with Gregory," Carter smiled lightly. Lydia was all for Jason joining their relationship if he wanted. Jason had agreed and together with both his mate Gregory and Gregory's chosen mate/wife Lydia. The three were a very cute couple. Carter remembered Matthias and Adrian loving that they had two dads and a mum. Their other siblings all loved Jason/Jain too. "But they kept it a secret from everyone but my father. Jason as Jain served as a personal assistant to Lydia. To keep him and his identity safe. He's even buried under the name Jain Petersen."
Wow. That was hard core and cool. Damien realised that Carter was saying was, did that mean that Jason or Jain, whatever they wanted to call him. Did that mean he was dead?
"Everyone thinks Jaycen and his brother Lucas are twins but they're not. They're actually half brothers who just happened to be born on the same day around the same time. No, Jason isn't alive anymore. A rogue hunter from the West killed Jason almost ten years ago before you ask anything about Jason and wanting to meet him," Carter told them sadly. "Otherwise I'm sure you guys would have liked him and I am sure he would have liked you guys too. I have a sample of the blood for you to take if Jaycen chooses to go with you. I would like to talk to your head doctors to make sure that Jaycen is safe… any blood that isn't this mixed blood could kill Jay. And because of the way the blood is mixed, he doesn't have a supernatural creature to my knowledge. But it could appear when he turns eighteen, but it's highly unlikely. As Jason didn't have a supernatural side, but he knew of the mate bond thanks to his werewolf and supernatural studies."
"So what you're saying is that my mate is a human with domain mixed supernatural blood in him but he has the Storme Blessed Supernatural Powers too?" Mason said to Carter.
"Correct, he's power is an interesting one," Carter nodded.
"And that is?" Damien asked.
"Jaycen has all his siblings powers," Carter replied, shocking the alpha and beta. "But his strongest power is to amplify others' powers. In other words-"
"Jaycen's an amplifier," Damien said shocked. "The rarest power for anyone to have, ever."
"Correct."
