The Alpha's Hunter 6
Chapter 6: The Annual Alpha Meeting Begins
Day 1
Mason didn't say anything as the official annual alpha meeting started, and then went on. Justin was putting himself between him and his mate and it was taking everything the black haired male had to not kill the other. If it wasn't for the fact that Jaycen was sitting between his two older brothers and then it was Justin with Alexander then Mason and Damien, Mason would probably kill someone, aka most likely Justin. Because the asshole shouldn't be getting between true mates! It was law to not!
Mason just needs to keep calm, even if he wanted to rip the man's neck out. It wouldn't do him any good.
Damien could see that Alexander wanted to ask them something but he didn't as his father was talking about the updates with his pack. It was boring and pretty standard stuff in all honesty.
Mason looked at Jaycen who was writing things down. Dang, his mate, was a fast writer. Or maybe it was shorthand? Mason couldn't see exactly what his mate was writing but he could hear him writing it and see him doing the writing at least. Carter was writing as well while Andrew had some treaties and his notes. Adrian looked bored out of his mind while Matthias, though didn't seem interested, was sitting up straight and pretending he was.
The updates like this were usually pretty boring and standard. One could easily nod off to them since they weren't exciting things. You say how numbers are going, how alliances are going, how the pack is going, how the warriors are training and things like that. If you had any issues with humans or other supernatural beings. As mentioned before, very boring and standard stuff.
"Alpha Mason, your turn," Justin told him suddenly as Mason had started to nod off.
"Update right? Simple," Mason said as he stood up and Damien handed everyone some paper. "Our supplies are fine and we have had only to punish two people recently. We had one rogue attack, no casualties but a rookie got himself hurt being overconfident. We had some new members join us and if you haven't heard, Alpha Sylvian challenged and lost to me so now he and his pack and their land are mine. Any treaties with him are now with me or you can withdraw from them. Everything else is covered in my report that Damien is handing out. I don't want to bore everyone. And obviously I have recently found my mate. We are staying in the same room because of the bond and are still deciding on what he wants to do about it. My wolf is obviously not happy about it but like me, will respect our mate's wishes until he is ready to accept us or reject us." Mason sat down again.
"Thank you," Justin nodded his head. The next person going.
Mason didn't pay them any attention but he knew that Damien was taking notes. The black haired male was too busy staring at his mate lovingly and dreamily. It was very obvious that Mason was very smitten with his mate, and was the young alpha's sole weakness. Mason didn't have many of those, weaknesses. But his mate was definitely going to be one.
Alphas depending on their personality don't have a lot of weakness, like Mason. He knew his pack members could handle themselves, men, women and children alike. So you couldn't use them against them. but a mate, or even their own pup and child, that was a different matter all together. for Mason those would be weaknesses and one that people could use if they choose too. They just have to remember if they do, the aftermath when Mason gets his hands on them won't be pretty.
Several hours later
"Why is Connor staying with you?!" Justin yelled at Mason as the meeting for the day ended.
Mason looked bored out of his mind as everyone was packing up their things and leaving. It drew attention to them but the younger male was playing it off cool. He didn't want to bother the Stormes or the other alphas' with the matter. But if Justin wanted to show everyone his true colours here and now, Mason wasn't going to stop him.
"Because he wants to hang out with my mate, or isn't that allowed?" Mason asked him bored. The black haired twenty-four turning twenty-five year old was baiting the other.
"That's not what my beta told me! He said he heard Connor tell someone he was leaving the pack with you! And staying in your room until that happens! What did you do to turn my son against me?!" Justin snarled as Mason just shook his head at the other. This was perfect, just what the young man needed to show everyone that Justin wasn't as great or good as he tried to make everyone believe he is.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Mason told Justin while he made eye contact with him. "It's not like you sent him to convince my mate to reject me and he didn't want to. It's not like you threatened to turn your own son into a rogue if he failed."
Justin paled a little hearing that. He couldn't believe his son had turned against him and told the other alpha what he had wanted Connor to do. A few of the alphas from the other packs started whispering. A few of them couldn't believe it, others did but didn't think that Justin would do it. There were a few who knew Justin well enough that they knew the man would do it if he was mad enough.
"Connor is free to leave any time he chooses, and if he chooses to never leave my room. That is his choice as well," Mason told Justin outright. The kid could live his life how he wanted, not how his father wanted. Mason wouldn't force him to do anything he didn't want to do. "If Connor chooses to change packs that's his choice as well. And if my mate stays with me or leaves me, that is his choice."
"Connor is mine," Damien told Justin, who looked ready to explode. He was just about ready to erupt like a volcano. "I feel a strong pull to him. Like my father said, it happened to him with my mother since she is younger than him. If he's my mate, he's mine and you won't ever touch him again. If not, then, it's his choice if he chooses to interact with you."
"Connor is an alpha! He won't be mated to a lowly beta like you!" Justin exploded as he pushed Damien. Neither Mason or Damien reacted to it as Justin growled at them, many expected a fight but it was clear that the Black Crescents were not wanting one or at least not wanting to start it. Justin's beta telling him to calm down. "I am taking my son back! He isn't eighteen yet! You can't just take him! He's an alpha!"
"His choice, alpha," Mason told the other as he didn't care. "The Stormes have cleared it. Connor will be the co-beta of my pack or choose the life of an elite in Black Crescent. You can't stop it."
"I can and I will!" Justin screamed at Mason. Damien's wolf snarling as he got between Mason and the other alpha.
Damien's wolf would fight and die for Mason and his wolf. But most importantly, he would fight for Connor and his wolf. Connor felt a strong pull towards Damien too. Their wolves felt a pull too. The four of them were hoping it was because they would be mates. It was a fifty-fifty chance for an older wolf to smell their younger mate before the younger's birthday.
"Don't touch what is mine!" Damien's wolf snarled dangerously. "They're ours!" One would think that Damien and Connor were already mates and had marked each other because of the way Damien's wolf was reacting and it was clear that the human side was letting the wolf take over too.
"Damien," Mason said to the other. "And Domain. Calm down. I will handle it. If you want Connor, Alpha Justin. I will duel you for him. If I lose, you can have him back no arguments. And I win, I keep him. Deal?"
"I shouldn't have to duel you over my own son!" Justin snarled hearing the other.
"Then don't bother me about him. It's his choice," Mason told the other. "Let's go Damien."
"Coming," Damien said, glaring at Justin.
"I spoke to Connor myself, Alpha Justin," Matthias told the alpha. Everyone was looking at him. "Connor chose himself to stay with Alpha Mason and Beta Damien. Partly out of fear of you banishing him because he doesn't understand why you don't like Alpha Mason and why you want Connor himself to get between him and my brother. And partly because he wants to stay with Jaycen. Alpha Mason speaks the truth. He signed paperwork with Andrew and Adrian stating he is taking Connor Blacke into his pack to be either co-beta or an elite. Depending on mate status and choices made by others. You won't remove him from the room without having to face a Storme, and we all know you won't want that. Do you?"
Many alphas were whispering between themselves hearing that. No-one wants to fight a Storme, Unless they were crazy or had a death wish or were jsut plain stupid.
"Oh, and Alpha Mason!" Matthias said which had Mason and Damien stop as they were going out the door.
"Yes Storme Rep Matthias?" Mason replied with a bored hum.
"Father agreed to meet you for a treaty meeting," Matthias told him, and everyone else in the room. Matthias was trying to make a point of anyone messing with the Black Crescents, then they would be messing with the Stormes as well. "He hoped next month would be good. He has somethings to take care, and asked I start the meeting with you without him but it won't be official until he sees and signs the treaty himself."
"When next month may I ask? As I have my birthday next month," Mason replied casually.
"My brother as well, he turns eighteen," Matthias replied as he pointed to Jaycen who just smiled very friendly at everyone. Not sure what to do. "We can discuss it later."
"Alright," Mason nodded his head as he left.
Everyone could see stream raising from Justin. The man was not happy, at all. For a number of different reasons. The Stormes were taking the Black Crescents Pack side. Alpha Mason was getting a private meeting with the Head of the Storme Hunters. The Stormes seem to like the guy. And Connor has turned traitor and there isn't any way for Justin to get to him. It was suicidal to go up against Mason and it was even worse to go against the Stormes.
Things were not going Alpha Justin's way, at all.
