The blue door creaked and Doctor M entered clapping like a teacher who was impressed with a student 's performance.
"I see your little daughter is cursed with Knowledge...how serendipitous " Doctor M said and smiled darkly.
"What's happening Sammy? Please this is my family and if our friendship meant anything to you, please don't do anything to them. I've apologized for my stupidity. I'm really sorry" Ebuka wailed and Doctor M laughed.
"Oh my. This is so funny. It feels good to not pretend anymore" He snapped his fingers and everything in the room changed into the most horrible display of nightmarish fear that Ebuka could think of. The beautiful troupe that adorned the walls immediately turned into grim drawings of the reaper and his sickle shaped harvester tool, the beautiful tweeting of birds quickly turned into screeching screams of torment. The bright glowing lights overhead turned into flickering yellowish soulless eyes blinking and flickering at the same time. The unbelievably white bedsheets slowly turned into black and smoky thorny woven materials with stench of sulphur seeping from their pores.
"We are in hell" Ebuka thought.
He looked at himself, he was strapped to a rickety bed with an iron harness. "Explains why I couldn't stand up" he told himself. Besides him, strapped onto an iron bed with a harness was Somto who was now almost catatonic from fright. Nathan lay opposite Ebuka in a tighter harness, asleep with a bleeding gash on his head. Nancy followed, Ebuka could see under her bed as blood pooled under it.
Ebuka's eyes moved towards Doctor M who was now staring at him like Michael Jackson stared at his date in thriller just before he turned into the undead creature and danced.
To say that Doctor M looked like the undead would be downplaying the terrifying horror that stood in the room with the Ebuka family. His eyes burned but not with fire or flames but rather dark red blood. His broken bones pointed out of his skin in misshapen ways that the mind could never imagine. Blood dropped from every crevice and gash on his body and there were a lot of gashes. His lower jaw hung lower suspended by thin slices of decaying flesh on each sides of his face, only the broken mandible and a few teeth on the lower lip made contact with the upper lip. His nose looked like it was scrapped off and blood dripped from his two misshapen ears.
He wasn't standing now, he was on all fours, his head occasionally wound around his neck as he stared at Ebuka's horrified face.
Ebuka and his family were terrified beyond words. Somto began to whimper.
"Please let my family go. Please don't hurt them. If our friendship meant anything to you" Ebuka pleaded.
Doctor M laughed deeply and his head wound around his neck and Ebuka vomited out of fright. The screeching cries from the window got worse as the sky outside turned pitch black. Dark cold winds that looked like they had invisible arms trooped into the room violently molesting Ebuka and his family.
Doctor M jumped towards the wall adjacent to Somto and she screamed out in horror. He crawled like a slug, his broken bones making grinding noises. He jumped onto Ebuka's bed and he almost fainted from fright as he stared into his burning bloody eyes. Lying face to face with Ebuka, Doctor M laughed darkly.
"Oh Erika. You are funny. Very funny. I'm going to kill your family slowly while you watch and then once I'm convinced that you have been driven mad by their loss, I will drive a stake through your back. I mean you drove a knife into my back, I'm gonna return the favor. I have been waiting for this moment for a long long time" Doctor M said and jumped down from the iron bed.
"You....you said you have forgiven me!!!" Ebuka muttered in fright, fighting hard not to pass out from fright.
"Of course I have forgiven you. That's why I'm hoping that you will forgive me when I murder your entire family" Doctor M growled.
Somto was petrified but she was confused. If she was going to die by a demon's hand, she felt she deserved to know her sins. What sort of sin would deserve such a horrible fate?. She opened her eyes and spoke.
"Please let us go. We didn't do anything to you..." She cried. Doctor M dashed towards her in an instant and she swallowed hard.
"Madam....your family did everything to me..." Doctor M said and for a brief moment his eyes burned fiercer.
Somto was scared but she was angry too. She felt she deserved to know what her family did to this godless creature. Why they were condemned to such a horrible fate, so she made a mistake she would regret in the coming minutes. Had she fully understood the notion of "ignorance is bliss" she would have died a simple woman. Terrified? Yes but a simple ignorant and sweet housewife but she had to ask. Like Eve, she spoke to the serpent.
"What did we do to you? What did my husband ever do to you that deserves this horrible treatment of our children? They are children Man!" Somto cried.
Doctor M dashed towards Ebuka and looked directly into his eyes.
"Why don't you tell them the truth? Tell them our past. Tell them what you did to me, how you betrayed me. I might consider letting the children go. I might consider letting the wife go too. But you must tell them, oh yes. You just tell them what happened in Hostel B2 fifteen years ago" Doctor M said and jumped to the ceiling, then he crawled towards the door and then looked back.
"Once again Erika, the life of a loved one lies in your hand. Would you tell the truth and save them or will you lie again?" Doctor M said and crawled out of the door. Ebuka vomited again and began to cry.
Somto turned her head with great difficulty and looked at him. "Baby, tell me; what happened in Hostel B2 fifteen years ago?" Somto asked and Ebuka wept further, the screeching cries outside got louder and bone-chilling winds got worse.
"Dad, tell us. I don't think Nathan is moving anymore. I don't know how long his tiny mind can handle this terror. Please tell us!" Nancy wailed.
Ebuka swallowed hard and closed his eyes.
"What happened in Hostel B2 fifteen years ago was that I killed Sammy, Doctor M" Ebuka said as tears dripped down his eyes.
