What Happened In Hostel B2

CHAPTER FOUR: "WHAT HAPPENED IN HOSTEL B2"

It was cold, it was dark and Ebuka and his family were dying.

The sulphuric smell that permeated the entire room was nauseating and the charcoal smell was suffocating but neither of these were as breathtaking as the bomb Ebuka just dropped.

"What? You are not a killer. You are Doctor Ebuka, the sweetest man I have ever known" Somto wailed. A dark bone-chilling laughter erupted from the middle of the room. Suddenly Doctor M was back there. Nancy and Somto shrieked in fright.

"Sweet? Loving? Oh my dear Somto, looks can be deceptive you know.... speaking of looks..." Doctor M said and waved his left broken arm with bones sticking out of the joints. Immediately worms, large arm-sized worms began to crawl around the bodies of Ebuka and his restrained family.

Somto screamed out in fright.

"Tell the story Erika. Tell the story. Tell them what happened in Hostel B2 fifteen years ago!" Doctor M urged and shot Ebuka a deadly look. Ebuka whimpered and nodded.

"I will, I will tell them but please take away the worms, please!" Ebuka pleaded but the undead physician shot him a grim look.

"Still bargaining, still can't say a word to save those he claims to love. You think you have seen horrors? You haven't seen anything yet" he said and jumped towards the ceiling and thunder roared outside the horrible smelling room. Immediately Nathan woke up, wailing.

"Daddy, what's happening? Where are we?" He wept.

"Baby calm down. Calm down!" Somto pleaded with him and then looked at Ebuka.

"Start talking...." Somto roared at Ebuka.

Ebuka looked at Doctor M with red eyes. "Please, Sammy don't do this. Please... My kids are here." He wept.

"Are you scared they won't see you as the perfect person you have molded in their minds? Do they know the sort of horrors that you are capable of unleashing?" Doctor M asked and Ebuka shook with fear.

"No, please. Release them, they are kids. They shouldn't even be here. They haven't been born when this happened. Please..." Ebuka pleaded.

Doctor M rolled his eyes, the globes without their eyelids looked like a skeleton with just white balls in their eye sockets.

"Fine, I will start the story..." Doctor M said and jumped down on Ebuka's bed. He gasped in fright and Nathan wailed. The bone-chilling winds got fiercer and the rancid smell of putridity permeated the entire air as Doctor M spoke in low tunes, Somto thought he sounded sad.

"Instead of telling you the story, how about I show you?" Doctor M said and immediately the dark terrifying walls turned into a moving screen. Two boys were in bed kissing. The Everly Brothers' Dream played from the small Bluetooth speaker on the dresser as the golden rays of sunlight flowed in from the opened window. The blue curtains blew up in slow motion as a young Ebuka kissed a young Doctor M.

"Ahh the Everly Brothers. That was our song, our jam. We were so in love that we had a song" Doctor M said dreamily as his nightmarish lips tore up in a heart-wrenching smile.

"What?" Somto gulped.

"Daddy, is that you?" Nancy asked, disappointed.

"Yeah sweetie. That was Daddy! Before Daddy married mummy, he had a taste for sausages!" Doctor M said and laughed darkly. A flash of lightning sliced through the dark skies outside.

"You are an enigma Erika" Somto heard young Doctor M on the wall screen, say.

"Why are you calling me Erika?" Young Ebuka asked playing with young Doctor M 's afro as he lay on his chest.

"Erika is still Ebuka, it means big, your heart is big and I love that. Besides I wanted to have a nickname for my secret lover" Young Doctor M said and tried to kiss young Ebuka.

Young Ebuka pushed him away, "Come on Sammy, no one can know about us, stop with the nicknames already. You know people can't find out about us..." Young Ebuka said, still fiddling with Young Doctor M's hair.

"Would it be such a bad idea if people knew about us? They're Doctors. They are educated..." Young Doctor M said.

" You know what they will do to us if they ever find out about us. Please, I don't want to lose you" Young Ebuka said.

"I know, I know. Secrecy and everything" Young Doctor M said and they resumed kissing, immediately the scene fizzled away.

"He was your secret lover? So you Jilted him or what? So I and kids have to suffer because you Jilted a lover?" Somto screamed at Ebuka.

"Oh no, that's not the end of the story dear Lady Somto. You must understand, I was to be blamed too for what came next. I mean, I was naive, foolish and downright stupid in love" thunder roared outside and the walls flashed as a new scene splashed across the walls.

A young Doctor M lay on the bed, reading....

"Please don't show this to them. There are kids here, please..." Ebuka pleaded.

"Yeah, but they are going to die anyway. Does it matter if I showed it or not?" Doctor M said and smiled darkly, his torn and bruised lips extending to the sides of his misshapen ears.

Somto wailed bitterly.

Doctor M crawled to her bed and whispered to her.

"We're trying to see a movie here as a family and your crying is interrupting us. Would you like me to give you a reason to mourn? Like say, I kill your small son?" Doctor M growled.

"No! No!! I'm quiet. I'm quiet. Let's enjoy the movie as a family" Somto said, fighting hard to lower her cries.

On the screen in the wall, a young Doctor M was reading a book, immediately the door opens up and a young Ebuka enters.

"I missed you" he said to young Doctor M. "Yeah? Well I'm reading and you made it clear we are done since we have finished our final exams" young Doctor M said and continued reading. From the sides of the book, Nancy could see that he was reading about one of the tales of the Eldritch horrors.

"Come on, let's go and celebrate with the others, it's not everyday that one finishes medical school and stop reading too much HP Lovecraft!" Young Ebuka said and knocked the book off Young Doctor M's hand. He dragged him up to his level and stared into his eyes.

"I'm sorry but I will miss you" he said and kissed young Doctor M. Immediately the door bursted open and two boys stood outside the door.

"What the f**k is happening?" The first boy screamed.

"Did you two just kiss?" The second boy scoffed and immediately Young Ebuka pushed Young M away from him and began to clean his mouth.

"I came here to invite him to the party the medical students were throwing near the pathology department and he grabbed me and kissed me. Telling me that he has loved me since we started school here. He...he assaulted me!" Young Ebuka wailed.

Somto could see Young Doctor M's eyes open in betrayal. Before he could say a word the two boys grabbed him and began to beat him. As they dragged him outside the room, more boys joined and they all descended on Young Doctor M. Not letting him speak and him being too betrayed to speak, they hit him with everything they could lay their hands on.

They said words, curse words too dark to remember, too vile to say.

"Abomination!"

"f*****g homo!" They yelled!

Like a mob cursed with a blind rage, they descended on Young Doctor M, in a view that seemed too brutal for even adults to watch, little Nathan and Nancy watched on in horror as the sins of their father were replayed in front of them.

"Please, stop! Help! Please! They are kids. They shouldn't see this. Please" Ebuka pleaded.

"Stop? Help? Please?" Now those words sound too familiar!" Doctor M shrieked and immediately on the doomed screen on the walls, Young M looked at Young Ebuka who stood there with teary eyes.

"Please! Help me! Make it stop! Save me" Young Doctor M pleaded but Ebuka looked away briefly.

At that horrible moment, the balusters that guarded the balcony of the fourth floor of Hostel B2 gave way and little Doctor M fell off. Immediately they saw that he was falling to his death his attackers ran away.

Suspended mid-air young Doctor M began to mutter some words, words so dark that Nancy opened her eyes quickly when she heard them.

"You actually chose to be an Eldritch horror. You summoned the Elder demon!. You recited the incantation before death!" Nancy said in fright and Doctor M laughed.

"I had no choice! I was about to die. I needed to make them pay. I knew no one was going to help me get vengeance. I had to try and I wasn't sure that it would work and boy was I wrong?. You are a smart girl. You recognize the spell? Aren't you too young to dabble into the dark arts? Unless..." Doctor M began .

"Unless what?" Ebuka cried.

"Oh this is not about her. This is about your betrayal Erika... This is about your pathetic excuse! This is about your foolishness!" Doctor M roared in a demonic voice. Nathan whimpered.

On the screen on the wall, young Doctor M hit the concrete below and all the bones in his body broke into tiny bits as his hands and legs became mishapen, pointing in directions that normal limbs do not point to. Blood flowed out of his mouth, his ears and his nose. His lower jaw shattered as well as a few teeth. His eyes popped out of their sockets and his ears tore.

As he lay there alone, dying and choking on his own blood. Somto stared into his scared eyes. She turned slowly in horror and looked at Ebuka.

"You monster...." She muttered. "You f*****g monster! You have doomed our family!" She wailed.

"You see? I might look like one but I'm not the monster here. Your sweet darling husband was and is still the only monster in the room" Doctor M said and rolled his exopthalmic eyeballs. Ebuka gagged.

"Please, let them go. I accept my sins, I accept my punishment" Ebuka cried.

"You think that solves everything? Ebuka you and a few students killed someone! You killed someone!. I married a killer" Somto wailed.

Doctor M crawled towards Somto.

"Don't worry about the other students. I took care of everyone of them. I mean this happened almost sixteen years ago. I have been busy in those years. I hunted down everyone of them. Trust me, they are facing a fate far worse than death" Doctor M said and creeped closer to Somto.

"Still your ears, you can hear them outside...." Doctor M said and the screeching cries came again, this time louder and bone-chilling.
