6Several more storms had stopped them from retrieving the wagon sooner, but the ground was now dry enough to support the heavy weight of a wagon. On several occasions, Bryan and Sam rode out to Grandfather’s small wagon and packed up as much as their horses could carry. Bryan had enjoyed the cave’s sanctuary, but with their supplies almost depleted, he wanted to leave as soon as Megan and Paul could travel.
