Kathleen: You can’t stay home! It’s karaoke night! I sighed at my phone screen. I looked up from the couch and saw Joshua sitting at the dinner table, looking through his newspaper. Me: I don’t feel comfortable leaving. Something’s wrong. Kathleen: Who the f**k cares?! You need to get out of that penthouse and get f*****g drunk with me! It’s the first Saturday of the month, which means it’s karaoke night at the Howling Duck. Kathleen and I have been attending that event every month since we turned twenty-one. It’s tradition.
