DUSK TILL DAWN

"Dan!" Never assume that a day couldn't possibly be ruined or get worse because; as if on cue, the universe drops something tragic at your feet. It is as though it has ears, ears that listen, a mind and discretion to bless and defy. It is as though the universe is a being in it's own...allowing us to inhabit it's belly.   I've always been a friend to the universe. I've never hurt her plants nor animals and tried to the best of my abilities to keep her safe but it looks like the same hand the mother used to give suckle is the same she uses to chastise.     Losing Dan was almost the worst thing that had happened to me...mother nature swept him away in the arms of one of her raging rivers and threw him off at a bank, cold and never to run with me again. I should never forget the day, neither will I forget the night as I poured my eyes out thinking I wouldn't live again. That day was a lot to take in but it was bu a little of what the universe had in stock for me. Standing in the tattered and dirty piece of what used to be my best dress, I painfully recall every moment.
