I struggled to stay awake as I woke up at seven in the morning. Desperate to keep myself from dozing off, I resorted to slapping myself in the face.
The lack of food and my late-night workout left me with a pounding headache and aching body. The only thing that kept me going were the encouraging words echoing in my mind.
After a quick shower, I chose an outfit from my closet and got dressed. I applied light makeup and grabbed my bag, wincing at the soreness in my body. Perhaps I had pushed myself too hard during the workout.
Before leaving, I prepared a fruit bowl and packed it into my bag, along with some bottled water and a smoothie. As I was about to walk outside, I heard a knock on the front door.
I looked out and found Hayden leaning against the wall.
