"Isolation," Zach said, sharply and everyone exited the room keeping their head low. "Close the door," he ordered and the last angel slave to leave shut the door gently. Miley's frivolous smile disappeared, she looked at Zach nervously, why the hell did he make them close the door, she was fidgeting with the blanket. Chuckling, she slid away from Zach on the bed as he stood rooted in his place. "Don't look at me like that! That concoction was bitter and you looked ugly, I thought bitterness suited you better so…" "You think you are the same for me? No, no Iris, you are not. I abhor you," Zach's eyes followed her as she went on the edge of the bed. Unaware that the maids had changed her clothes and made her wear the symbolic royal gown, Miley tripped and fell on the floor. Gathering herself she stood in front of Zach. She looked at her clothes and gasped, "how have they changed? You!" She glared at Zach. "I am not interested in touching you, don't make scenarios in your head, the maids changed your clothes. Even if I had to, I would rather use magic than my hands," Zach scowled. The gown was off sleeves, Miley grabbed the silk blanket from the bed and covered her exposed body, "where is my family? What did you do to them? Those shadows, you set them up, right? I don't know what grudge you hold against me, but…" in a blink, Zach pinned Miley against the wall slamming his hand on the wall next to her ears. "The only person I wanted was you. If I had to set up a plan, I would have killed your family long ago when I came to your house in Weak Earth," Zach snarled. Miley squeezed herself against the wall trying to widen the decreasing gap between the two, "it's your fault, it's all your fault! After you appeared in my life it just went upside down!" "No, it's your fault, Iris, why did you come into existence again? Why are you alive again? It's all your fault! And now you even dared throw the medicines on my face, how daring! If someone else was in your place, I would have cut off their hands and pulled off their tongue," Zach's lips were just inches away from Miley's forehead. "So why don't you kill me? What do you need from me? It's nothing like you love me or something. So why? Do you perhaps have some mental illness? Depression? Break up?" Miley looked into Zach's eyes. Zach squinted his eyes, "what do they mean?" "What? You don't know what depression and break up means!" She chuckled, making Zach grab her hand and pin her in the bed the very next moment. "Don't joke around, I am not going to tolerate you," Zach warned her. "Get off me! p*****t! Damn it!" She tried to free both her wrists that Zach held in one of his palms over her head, "this is not funny! Leave me!" "Why? You are in my world, my kingdom, everything here belongs to me and now you too are my possession, Iris. I can do whatever I want… ugh!" Miley kicked Zach's stomach, pushed him from over herself. Getting up she held a flower vase nearby and pointed it towards Zach. "I neither belong to this world and nor to you. I am the ruler of my world. I don't care who you are. For me you are just a freak who kidn*pped me and scattered my well-settled family," she shifted close to the gate while Zach cautiously stepped closer to her. "You think you can run away? Keep it down and…" "Never!" Miley shattered the vase throwing it just an inch away from Zach, she pries opened the door, lifted her gown and dashed outside the room. The angels guarding the room and palace stood like statues, no one following her. "She's running away! Shouldn't we stop her?" A young angel slave, Zura Zit, asked an older guard standing beside him. Zura was a seventeen years old male angel with undeniable beauty on his face and huge wings that were then ready to fly after Miley. "No. Didn't you hear what lord Zach announced, the one to touch her would lose his hand. Just stay put," the older angel stood like a statue again with a spear of almost his length in his hand. Zach wiped his face in the blanket and traipsed out of Miley's room, "even if she doesn't remember a thing about her past life, still she is the same. Simpleton, careless, elegant… No, that is the only character she lost. Miley is not even a sand size close to Iris." Miley's gown floated like gentle waves as she dashed through the same routes that she has been seeing in her dreams, she halted for a few seconds, looked back just to see that no one was following her, "Why are these routes so familiar? Is it possible that my dreams were some kind of flashback? If so, does it mean I am that little girl from those dreams? No no. Not possible! It means the Zach in my dreams is him! But how's that possible? Both of them are polar opposite," she blabbering, panting and running into the royal garden. Stopping near the fountain, she looked around frantically. "It's similar. No matter how I look at it, it's exactly the fountain from my dreams. But it's not possible, it's just a coincidence. I need to find a way to get out of here…" Just when she was about to run towards the huge iron gate leading outside the palace, Zach's chains wrapped themselves around her waist and wrist, she turned back just to look at Zach strutting towards her, "tsk! These chains again!" She tried to free herself in vain. "No matter how many times you try to run away this time, I am getting you back every single time," Zach held the chains in her hand and dragged her. "What do you want? I need to find my family, I am sure they are here, father was saying something about the Strong Earth…" "I don't care," Zach kept on dragging her, Miley was barefoot and a sharp pebble dared to prick her feet. "Aah!" Zach turned and looked at Miley, "what happened?" "Nothing! Just lemme go!" Zach's chains lifted Miley in the air, Zach pointed towards her feet and the pebble automatically came out from her feet and flew to Zach, "I have said it before too, I am not letting you go!" "Why? What is the reason for you to…" Zach pulled the chain around her waist and she levitated into Zach's arms, running his fingers through her long hair, Zach whispered, "let's assume you are my fetish from today on. Got the answer? Now shut up and stay in your room." "Stop touching me! You said you would rather use magic than to touch me with your hands but from the very first day you keep on touching me, just stop it! Besides, what exactly do you want me to do? Find a long lost treasure for you? Kill some evil lord? Lift a curse from someone? Just tell me, I will do it after that, set me free so that I can find my family, we can go back together in our world and live peacefully," even with the chains around her wrist, she pushed Zach away from her. Zach stared at her for some time but said nothing. He pulled the chains again dragging her into the palace. Miley kept on shouting but he turned a deaf ear. *** "My lord, what do you plan on doing now?" Ronan asked Zach who was staring at the huge portrait in his room covered with black silk cloth. "My lord!" Zach came out of his reverie, "huh? What? What did you say?" "My lord, did you sense your symbol aura around her?" Ronan asked. "Symbol aura? Oh, I forgot to check it," Zach replied. "My lord, I did sense the similar saviour symbol aura around her and I can say, she is the new chosen one," Ronan said. "Yeah," Zach seemed to be absent-minded. Ronan could feel his strange behaviour. "My lord, I was asking what do you plan to do next?" "I haven't thought of it yet," Zach ran his fingers through his hair averting his eyes from the portrait. "The book says only if the new bearer trusts the former symbol bearer will the transfer be possible and the way you just locked her in the room, I don't think she trusts you even a bit," Ronan limped towards Zach. "So, what do you think I should do?" Zach asked, calmly. Shocked, Ronan shook his head, "my lord, something seems to be bothering you, can you tell me what it is?" "Nothing, just tell me what I should do. I can bewitch her and make her trust me. That's the only way I know," Zach poured water for himself in a silver glass. "You can't use force or magic, you will have to earn her trust, it has to be genuine, my lord," Ronan said. "Genuine? Not possible! She hates me and I have no intentions of changing anything. I just want to end her as soon as the symbol returns to me. I don't want to see her face," Zach said but Ronan could see it on his face that his eyes didn't speak the same. He understood that talking about Miley and the saviour symbol would bring no results because Zach looked dangerously confused, "my lord, the news arrived this morning that Prince of Nigrack, Lake Shadow has returned." "Returned?" Zach snapped, "I thought he died! How can he return?" "I have no idea, my lord, even in the darkest magic, there is no way of bringing back the dead to life. There might be some other secret we aren't aware of about the shadow family." "Send our spies and find out," Zach said, casually. Ronan held his head low, "my lord, the spies we sent have not returned. They vanished with no sign of existence." "What? What is he cooking now," Zach looked at Ronan. "Last time his motive was vague, he just wanted to prove that the chosen system of Zenara is fragile and he could break it easily, but this time I am sure he has a firm motive to come after you and Zenara," Ronan said. "Iris," Zach peered into nothingness. Ronan nodded. "About her parents, the shadows brought them here, did you find out where they are?" "No my lord, the barrier that the Shadow prince created after the resurrection is impenetrable. My magic is no more effective on Nigrack, pardon me, my lord," Ronan bowed, putting his full weight on the stick. "What? Why all of sudden? How did he get so powerful? How did he resurrect?" Zach contemplated. "There is no way we can know now, my lord," Ronan said, apologetically. "There is a way. I'll go there myself and find out. It will be dangerous if we stand put and do nothing, we should always stay a step ahead of the enemy, but if we can't see where they are — that becomes deadly," Zach said. "It's dangerous! What if they get their hands on you?" Ronan said, impatiently. "Do you think I wasted my time all these years?" "What do you mean, my lord?" "You will know. Prepare for my departure." "What about Zenara? You just returned." "Did someone know that I was absent when I was?" "No, my lord. But you know our magic doesn't work there, you can't just teleport into the dark world, you will have to travel all the way there. Don't you think it's better to keep on sending our spies?" Ronan looked worried. "What's the use of sending so many spies and getting nothing in return. Moreover, I am not patient enough to wait for the spies to bring me the news, I better check on them myself. Behind me, you will handle everything and keep special eyes on Ir— Miley." Ronan bowed and got out of Zach's room. Lord Zero seems to be confused. It would be a surprise if he didn't, there was a time when he almost gave his life to save Princess Iris, what a shame! My lord is back where he shouldn't be, but if he can't earn her trust, he might be in greater trouble, darkness is looming, shadows are moving, master needs Princess Iris' incarnation's help, Ronan limped towards Miley's room. "Lady Miley please calm down, we can't free you until lord Zach orders," Zura tried to stop Miley who was about to smash his head with the flower vase. "GET ME OUT OF HERE! THAT DUMB i***t! HE IS KEEPING ME CAPTIVE! IT'S A CRIME! FREE ME FROM THESE CHAINS!" Miley's hands were chained with the bed with Zach's magic chains. No normal angel or wizard would even dare touch those chains. "What is happening here?" Ronan limped faster and stood between Miley and Zura. "Royal consultant Ronan," Zura bowed. "Lady Miley doesn't understand that we slaves can neither touch her nor those chains. Lord Zach fastened them himself. We are in no position to go against him." "Hm. I understand. Go and prepare for a journey," Ronan ordered Zura. "A journey? Is Royal consultant heading somewhere?" Zura asked. "No. Lord is. Keep this to yourself and don't let anyone know that lord Zach is heading towards Nigrack, the world of shadows," Ronan murmured. Zura gasped, "why there?" "Are you in a position to question the lord?" "No, royal consultant, I will go prepare," Zura was about to leave when Ronan stopped him. "Prepare for two people, lord isn't going alone, a lady will accompany him," Ronan finished. Zura bowed and left. "What were you talking to him? That jerk kidnapper is going somewhere? Tell him to come and free me first!" Miley said, angrily. "Lady Miley, this is your name right?" Ronan gave a faint smile with his eyes almost shut. "I am, what's up with you?" Her tone and language was a misfit in the royal environment she was in, unaware that she was being disrespectful. "Lady, I am in no position to say this but it will be better if you learn about the etiquettes and manners of the castle," Ronan said, calmly. "Huh! Why should I? Sooner or later I will find my family and get out of this place. I am not to the least interested in learning your stupid manners," she said, crisply. Ronan chuckled, "lady Miley sure is more daring. Let me ask you, how will you find your family? Do you know where they are?" Miley was taken aback, her eyes moved restlessly as she couldn't find an answer to Ronan's questions, "I-I will search for them! They are somewhere in this world. Those creepy shadows, they kidn*pped my parents." "Shadows? You mean, your parents are in Nigrack?" "Something like that, I don't remember names properly." Ronan chuckled, "I can help you find your parents, but you will have to help me." "Really? Why should I trust you?" "The choice is yours. If you are ready to help me I am ready to help you." Thinking for some time Miley looked at Ronan, putting down the flower vase, "what will I — have — to — do?"
