5 MILLION IN 48 HOURS
The hospital corridor smelled like disinfectant and fear.
Sara Culprit pressed her forehead against the cold wall, her hands shaking as she stared at the bill in her hand.
*5,000,000 Naira. Due in 48 hours.*
Her mother was on the bed inside. Cancer. Stage 2. The doctor said without surgery, she had 3 months left.
"Mama," Sara whispered, tears burning her eyes. "I will save you. I promise."
She had called everyone. Her aunt. Her uncle. Her friends.
Nobody had 5 million. Nobody even had 500k.
Her phone buzzed. Unknown number.
"Sara Culprit?" A deep, cold male voice. "This is Leo David's assistant. Mr. David wants to see you. Now."
Sara frowned. Leo David? The billionaire CEO? The ruthless man who owned half of Lagos?
"What for?"
"He needs a wife." The assistant paused. "A contract wife. For 6 months. 10 million naira."
Sara's heart stopped.
10 million. Enough for Mama's surgery. Enough to save her.
"Where?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"David Tower. 30th floor. Don't be late."
---
One hour later, Sara stood in front of a glass door that cost more than her entire house.
She pushed it open.
And there he was.
Leo David.
Tall. Cold eyes. Black suit. Worth billions and he looked at her like she was nothing.
"You must be desperate," he said without looking up from his laptop. "Good. Sit."
Sara sat, her knees trembling.
"I need a wife for 6 months," Leo said, finally meeting her eyes. His gaze was ice. "You will pretend to be my wife at events. You will not fall in love with me. You will not ask questions. You will obey."
He slid a contract across the table.
"Sign this. 10 million. You get half now."
Sara stared at the paper. Then at the photo of her mother on her phone.
Her hand shook as she picked up the pen.
"I... I agree," she whispered.
Leo smirked. "Good girl."
But Sara didn't see the danger in his eyes.
She didn't know that signing this contract would ruin her life...
