Chapter 18

Jennifer     I collapsed on the bed when we got home. We had been shopping all day. I couldn’t wait to start setting up their rooms. As I thought back on the purchases. We would keep the twins in Adams room, since they are currently in there, while we start getting Abigail’s room ready for her. She decided on bed sheets in a lovely shade of purple, with large deep purple flowers and small light flowers in it. Then I found paint for the walls that matched the small flowers. It will be wonderful. The purple is light enough that I don’t think it will overpower the room, and when she changes bed sheets, even if she changes the quilt, I don’t think it will be a problem. She didn’t want to buy any other accessories besides the bed set. She wanted to wait until it was all put together, so that she could pick things out that she thought would go well. We got her a beautiful day bed. It made me think of something a princess would wear.     Then I thought about Adam’s room. His room was much different. When we get done with Abigail’s room, we will move them into her room and start on his. He chose white walls with a blue tint. He picked plain blue sheets for the bed also. Where he brought in all the color was in his wall art. He is into music, so he bought pictures that depicted different musical instruments in a multitude of colors, a guitar in green, a drum set in orange, a tuba in yellow and many more. It seems like he really wants to learn to play instruments, I couldn’t tell if he had a favorite, or if he never picked an instrument to play, because he never figured that was in the cards. I need to remember to talk to the guys about maybe starting lessons for him on one of the instruments. Right now, what I needed most was a nap. Then the doctor wanted to see me, he checked the tracker that they placed in my leg, once a month, and it was time to check it. Even though we hadn’t heard anything from my father, my Alpha’s weren’t taking any chances. It didn’t take long and I was fast asleep.     When I awoke night had already fallen and the boys were in bed with me. I looked at the three of them sleeping and realized it had been days since we were together. I turned over and started kissing Jason. When he caught on, I turned to the other two and woke them in the same manner. Like usual, it didn’t take them long to get in the mood.     I woke the next morning renewed and energized. I got heated up again, just thinking about the night before. I decided the first think I should do is go and see the doctor. He wanted to see me yesterday, but I slept through half of the day.     I got up and showered quickly. I mind-linked the boys a good morning and went to get some breakfast. When I was done with breakfast, I went in search of the pack doctor.     “Samuel,” I called when I got to the pack hospital.     “My Queen,” I heard. Then I saw Samuel round the corner.     “Queen Jennifer, thank you for coming so I can make sure that the tracker is still good. Can you remove your pants and jump up on the table?” he asked.     I did as he said and he pulled up the program on his computer. It took a moment and then the red dot popped up in the middle of out royal pack territory. He nodded and then checked the area to make sure that it wasn’t irritated and took out the tracker gun and moved it around my leg making sure that it was still in the same place. It was the same thing he did every time. He said that he wanted to make sure that it hadn’t moved and that it wasn’t irritating the surface and of course, that it was still working.     “Everything looks good, Queen. Do you have any questions?” he asked.     “Not really, I have been extra tired the last week and really hungry. I was wondering if I could be pregnant?” I asked.     “Hmm, let’s take a look,” He laid me down on the table and lifted my shirt so he could get to my stomach. Then he squirted some cold gel on my stomach making me jump a little.     “Sorry, Queen, I should have warned you that it was cold,” he said.     “That’s fine, just startled me a little,” I told him.     Then he used a wand to look at my stomach. I watched on the screen and my insides showed up on the screen, he moved the wand around and around. Then he stopped and pushed down a little.     “Well, Queen, it looks like you are pregnant with,” he started but paused, moving the wand around again. “3 babies I would say. Can you see these three little peas that look like they are fluttering,” he asked.     I couldn’t say anything, so I just nodded. “Those are the three heartbeats that I can locate.” Samuel told me. I looked at the screen and looked back at him. I thanked the doctor and left. I walked out of the pack hospital in a haze. I was pregnant with triplets. I couldn’t believe it. I guess that is a good reason to need to eat more and to be so much more tired. I needed to tell the Alpha’s and then we needed to tell the twins. I forgot to ask about how long before I would have the babies. What did I know about werewolf pregnancies? I racked my brain. They lasted about 4 months. I thought about it and the triplets weren’t very big, in fact they looked like three peas in a pod. That made me laugh, to think about. They were my little peas in my pod. Anyway, I digress, I couldn’t be that far along, or I would think that I would be bigger. I also had heard that with human’s and multiple births that premature births are very common. I wonder if that means that my 4 months could be closer to 3 months? There were a lot of questions that I should have asked the doctor. I walked around a little while longer.     I was pulled out of my thoughts by Adam’s panicked voice. “Mommy, Mommy, help me,” he was yelling over and over. I knelt down to his level to find out what was wrong.     “Mommy, Abigail is in the forest and she isn’t moving, I can’t wake her. Come quick,” he said in a panicked voice. I ran after him into the forest. I dropped down onto the ground when I saw Abigail lying on the ground, unconscious. I looked for any sign that she was bleeding. That’s when I heard his voice.     “Hello, daughter dearest, it is time for you to come home,” my father’s voice came from the shadows.     I stood quickly and shielded the twins from where his voice was coming from.     Then I saw him. He came out of the shadows, with the evil smile that haunted my dreams. I gasped when I realized that he wasn’t alone. There were at least 5 wolves surrounding us, that I could see.     “Father,” I said. “Let the twins go and I will go with you. I won’t even fight you, but only after I see them safely out of the woods,” I told him. He sat there thinking about it. I watched the wolves, assessing whether or not I could take them or not.
