Chapter 16

Jennifer PV     I woke to the sun in my eyes. I sat up and looked as Adam’s sleeping figure. I smiled. Then I looked over at Abigail only to see that her side of the bed was empty. She was gone. I linked the guys, “Jason, Justin, Jonathan, Abigail is not in bed,” I yelled. I quietly left to room and met the guys in the hall.     “What do you mean that she isn’t in there,” Jason asked. R     “I don’t know, I looked in their bed, and Adam is the only one in bed,” I told them.     “I will have everyone on the lookout,” Jason said.     I saw his eyes glaze over and knew that he was linking the pack. I started going down stairs looking for her. Where could she have gone? I went through the house looking for her. Then I caught her sent. I followed it into the playroom. I looked in and saw that she was in the rocking chair with the baby doll, rocking the doll as she fed it a bottle. I mind link the guys and told them where she was and what she was doing.     I walked into the room and cleared my throat. She looked up at me and smiled.     “Did you wake up and decide that your dolly needed food?” I asked her.     She shook her head yes.     “How about we put dolly back in her bed and go get ready for breakfast,” I asked her. She nodded again and handed me dolly.     I put her dolly back in the baby crib and we went back to the room that we slept in last night. Adam was sitting in bed. It looked like he had just woken up.     “Good morning Adam, are you ready for breakfast,” I asked him. He shook his head yes. I had them both use the bathroom and change their clothing. We went down stairs and sat down. I put them both in their highchairs and then sat down between them. Jason, Justin and Jonathan walked in just a few moments after we were settled.     “Good morning,” Jason said. “I heard that Abigail is becoming a great little mommy, but I want to warn you, it is fine if you get up before us and go somewhere in the pack house, but I would like to make sure that if you choose to stay here, that neither of you leave the pack house without letting one of the four of us know,” Jonathan stated. Adam and Abigail both nodded.     Mary started bringing the food out. I put food on the twin’s plates and then I started eating.     We were almost done eating when I noticed that Adam and Abigail got a blank look on their faces. I saw their eyes glaze over, just like when a wolf mind links another wolf, but I knew that couldn’t be the case. Werewolves cannot mind link until they become of age, at 18, and get their wolf.     I looked at the guys and they were staring at the twins also. They all had a confused look.   Abigail PV     “Is it time to tell Mommy that we want to stay,” I asked Adam through our mind link.     “I think so, lets motion for her to let us down so that we can sit on her lap. Then when I squeeze your hand, count to three and we will say it together. ‘Mommy, we want to stay with you,’” he said.     “That sounds perfect. Let’s do it know, before I burst,” I told him.     We broke the link and saw that all 4 of the adults were looking at up with curious eyes. We had never let anyone see us mind link before, because we didn’t want anyone to know that it was possible, but this was going to be our family. We both raised our arms and bounced a little to show them that we wanted down. I was finally ready to start talking. We haven’t spoken for the last several years, but we are now.     Jason picked up Adam and Jennifer picked me up. We both walked over to Jennifer and got into her lap. Adam took my hand and looked at me as he squeezed my hand. I counted to 3 in my head.     “Mommy, we want to stay here with you,” we said together. “And I want more chocolate cake,” I added.     Mommy started to cry and laugh at the same time. All three of the Daddy’s were laughing, Daddy, Papa, and Pop.   Jennifer PV     I couldn’t believe it. Not only are they going to stay with us, but they started talking.     Jason walked over and picked up Abigail. “Papa,” she squealed.     Justin picked up Adam, “Pop”, he yelled as he giggled.     Then Jonathan came over and hugged me before taking Abigail away from Jason and throwing her in the air. I jumped up and she giggled out “Daddy again.”     We were a happy little family at that moment. I couldn’t think of anything that could make it better.     “Did I hear someone say something about wanting a piece of chocolate cake,” Mary said as she walked in. We all stopped and looked at her as she came in carrying in a tray with 5 large pieces of cake. I laughed.     “You really shouldn’t have,” I told her and I winked.     “What do you say that we quickly eat, then we will go to the orphanage and get what is left of your things. After that, we will go to the store and pick out things for your rooms. Do you want to continue to sleep in the same room, or are you ready for your own rooms? The other option is you could start in the same room, but different beds. Then when you are more comfortable sleeping apart, you could move to separate rooms. What do you think?     Their eyes blanked again. I watched them, wondering what they were doing. Wondering if they could share some kind of mind link between each other, could they have some kind of twin link? It was about 10 minutes and both of their eyes cleared at the same time.     “Why were your eyes blank just then,” I asked.     They looked at each other and Adam nodded.     “We can link each other. We have been able to since we can remember. We were told it is because we were twins,” Abigail said.     I nodded. “Did you decide about the sleeping arrangements?” I asked.     “Yes, we have,” Adam said.
