She stared at the box for a good few second before taking the box. Without uttering a word she resumed her eating. A frown etched on my face as I saw her so calm. I cleared my throat to get her attention again, she looked back up and asked, “what is it?”   I did not know what to say, I had wanted her to accept this without a fight yet her nonchalant behavior bothered me. “You are fine with this?” I enquired expected her to burst at my question, but she merely shrugged, “what’s the point? I’ll still have to go with the plan anyway.”  She rolled her eyes and went to put her  plate away. All the while my eyes watching her reaction. She seemed too calm than before. Especially after her call with her family. I did not know what they talked about afterwards but it certainly something important. I wish I could ask her but its none of my business. Huda was about to exit the room when the words left my mouth, “wait.” I did not have any idea why I stopped her, probably because I wanted some kind of reaction from her or probably because I want her to stay. However, when she turned to look at me I could not get a word out. She was waiting for me to speak and I did not know what to say. Giving a frustrated sigh I just mumbled, “Goodnight, Huda.”   She looked stunned for a moment, not sure why but the air turned awkward as she stared at me then nodded, “goodnight to you too, Sir.” She then turned and left. It did not get unnoticed how she called me sir. If we are going to be convincing we need to set up some terms. With that thought I decide to retire for the night and plan our next move tomorrow. ………………..   Huda pov: The door clicked behind me as I stood in the middle of the room rethinking what just happened. Mr. Rameez was my boss until now, I never thought of him as anything else, even when I started working for him, I thought he was handsome but there was no further thought on that. He never called me by my name alone. But it was to be expected seeing we will get married. Now, that I can think about getting married. It feels a lot of pressure and committing to someone I barely knew, making me nervous and excited at the same time. Mostly nervous though, because the plan starts the moment I put on the ring. I don’t know what will happen in future but it will not be pretty. Alya will not stay quiet for long. I am already unavailable from a week. She will start getting suspicious.   I thought back to the phone call with my parents, they were both excited and terrified when I told them about my brother. Once I know I can trust Mr. Rameez, I might convince him to help with my brother. What I don’t understand is if he was alive why not he reached us. Shaking my head I put the box on side table and decided to sleep. Quickly changing I fell back on bed and reminded myself to ask Mr. Rameez for my phone. Alya must be trying to reach me. With the thought I slept in a dreamless sleep.   ………………….   The next morning I woke up to a knock on my door.I got up and walked towards the door, opening it my eyes widened when I saw Mr. Rameez standing there. A squeal left my mouth as I slam the door back on his face and turned around. “What are you doing here,Mr. Rameez?” I asked frustrated when I thought of what I was wearing. Shorts and a thin crop top. I did not hear any reply for a while and I thought he had left but then he spoke. “I’ll wait in the dinning room, Huda.” That name again.   I heard his footstep descending back and I face palmed myself. I should have asked who it was first. Decided to not prolong my misery any longer, I showered and quickly changed into appropriate clothes. Once changed, I made my way to kitchen and stood outside biting my lips nervously. Taking a deep breath I stepped in, first thing I noticed was Diana cooking. A sigh escaped me as I thanked god for her. I quickly mumbled a good morning and noticed Mr. Rameez eyes following me. I wanted to scowl at him but decided to not increase the awkwardness. I took a seat as far away from him as possible, which was not much just two seat across. Neither of us wanted to start the conversation and neitrher of us dared looked at each other either. Diana put a plate in front of me and smiled, I was so glad for the breakfast. “thankyou, Diana.” I quickly busied myself with food to avoid any talk. Diana excused herself to do the cleaning. We both sat in silence, and you could hear the pin dropping.   Mr. Ramez cleared his throat and I closed my eyes, here comes the awkwardness. “Emm, you need to get ready by & in evening. We will announce the engagement to my family.”  His voice was stoic and posed. I turned to him sideways and nodded, “won’t Alya know if we get married?” “yes, therefore we will keep it oprivate. I am only doing this for safe keeping so I know you won’t run away half way.” He almost smirked at the end making me frown. “what do you mean run away? I don’t turn on my words, Mr. Rameez. If I said I’ll help you, I will. You don’t have to say it again and again.” I was annoyed now, all awkwardness forgotten. “I know that. I am just reminding you. And we have few more things to discuss.” He said that and turned towards me. “First thing, my family is very nosy, so if you called me MR. Rameez in front of them. We might have a lot of explaining to do. So make it as believable as possible. Okay?” I nodded in agreement, “yes, Mr---I mean Rameez.” Heat crept my cheek as I said his name. “Also, I figured Alya will try to trace you and reach to you. I’ll give you a new phone which cannot be traced, your number will remain same, but they won’t be able to trace you.” I nodded, “what should I tell her where I have been?” I voiced my thought, Alya was a cunning woman, I hope she will buy my lie. I don’t want to risk anything. “just tell her you disappeared because I was getting suspicious. Try to sound as real as possible.” I nodded and resumed my eating.   I felt him slide something towards me, it was my new phone. “now, everything has already been set up. Don’t worry your old phone is safe too and so is your data. For now take this and turn it on.” I hesitantly took it and hoped Alya never called. As soon as I turned on the phone, it started ringing,  the phone almost slipped from my hand. My eyes met Rameez and he knew too who was calling. Alya.
