Rain poured over the city like a warning from heaven itself. The black SUV sped through the empty streets of New York City, its headlights cutting through the storm while thunder growled above. Inside the vehicle sat a little girl no older than eight, dressed in a white silk gown stained with blood that wasn’t hers.Evelina Moretti sat silently. No tears. No screams.Just silence. Her small fingers clutched the silver necklace hanging around her neck, the symbol of the Moretti family, the most feared mafia dynasty in the country. A crown wrapped around a serpent.Power.Death.Loyalty.Those were the rules she was born into.“Don’t look back, principessa,” the driver muttered shakily as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel. But Evelina already had.She had seen the mansion burning behind them. She had seen men dying on the marble floors. And worst of all…She had seen her father kneeling with a gun to his head.“Run, Eva.”Those were the last words Don Alessandro Moretti ever spoke to his daughter before the trigger was pulled.A loud c***k of thunder echoed across the sky.Evelina blinked slowly, her expression empty as the memory replayed in her head. At eight years old, something inside her had already broken beyond repair. The SUV suddenly swerved.Gunshots exploded from behind.“s**t!” the driver cursed.Another black car appeared beside them, windows rolling down.Men with guns.Enemies.The Romano family. The driver pulled out his pistol with one hand while steering with the other. “Stay down!”Bullets shattered the windows instantly.Glass rained everywhere.Evelina ducked low, heart pounding violently against her chest as chaos erupted around her. The driver fired back twice before a bullet ripped through his shoulder. The car lost control.Everything happened too fast.Screeching tires.A deafening crash.Pain.Then darkness enveloped…When Evelina opened her eyes again, she was lying in a hospital bed.The room smelled of medicine and death.A tall man dressed in black stood near the window, his back facing her.“Where’s my father?” she whispered weakly.Silence.The man turned slowly, revealing cold gray eyes that held no mercy.“He’s dead.”The words hit harder than the crash itself.Evelina stared at him, waiting for the grief to come. But it never did.Instead, something colder settled inside her chest.Hatred.The man stepped closer. “From today onward, you are the last heir of the Moretti empire.”Her tiny fingers curled into the hospital sheets.“Do you know what that means?”She looked up at him silently.“It means they will spend the rest of their lives trying to kill you.”The storm outside intensified.Lightning flashed across the room, illuminating the darkness in her eyes for the very first time. And in that moment, the little girl who once believed in fairy tales died completely.Years later, the underworld would come to fear her name. Not because she was merciless. Not because she was powerful. But because Evelina Moretti learned one simple truth far too young:The only way to survive monsters… was to become one.!!

CHAPTER ONE: THE RETURN OF THE HEIRESS
The grand ballroom of the Romano Hotel glittered with diamonds, champagne, and fake smiles. Politicians laughed beside criminals. Businessmen shook hands with murderers. And somewhere between the luxury and the lies, danger sat comfortably at every table. At the top of the marble staircase stood EVELINA MORETTI Twenty-three years old. Beautiful. Untouchable. Deadly. The entire room fell silent the moment she appeared. Her black satin dress hugged her figure perfectly, the slit revealing toned legs with every graceful step she took. Diamonds rested against her neck like they belonged there, but nothing shined brighter than the cold confidence in her dark eyes. Men stared. Women whispered. Fear spread quietly through the room. Because everyone in that ballroom knew one thing: The lost Moretti heiress had RETURNED And nobody knew why. Evelina descended the staircase slowly, her heels clicking against the marble floor like a countdown to destruction. Beside the entrance, guards straightened immediately, avoiding eye contact. Smart men knew better than to look at her too long. At the center of the ballroom stood Lorenzo Romano. The son of the man who destroyed her family. Tall, dangerously handsome, and dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, Lorenzo held a glass of champagne while speaking to a senator. But the second his eyes landed on Evelina, he stopped breathing for a moment. The room disappeared around him. She looked exactly like the ghost haunting his family for fifteen years. Except now… she looked far more dangerous. “Impossible,” one of the older mafia bosses whispered. “She’s alive?” “I heard she disappeared after the massacre.” “No,” another muttered nervously. “She survived.” Evelina heard every word. Her lips curved slightly. Good. She loved the fear in them Lorenzo slowly walked toward her through the crowd, his expression unreadable. Every eye in the ballroom followed him. When he finally stopped in front of her, tension swallowed the air whole. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said quietly. Evelina tilted her head. “Funny. My invitation said otherwise.” His jaw tightened. Even her voice carried danger. “You have courage showing your face after all these years.” “And your family has courage breathing after what they did.” The words sliced between them sharply. A dangerous silence followed. Around them, people pretended not to listen while listening to every single word. Lorenzo lowered his voice. “This city buried the Moretti name long ago.” Evelina stepped closer until only inches separated them. “Then maybe,” she whispered coldly, “it’s time I dug up the grave.” Something dark flickered behind his eyes. Not fear. Interest. That annoyed her more than anything. Lorenzo Romano was supposed to be many things, arrogant, ruthless, cruel. Not attractive. Unfortunately for her, he was all four. Before either of them could speak again, a loud voice interrupted the tension. “Ladies and gentlemen!” Everyone turned toward the stage where an older man stood smiling with a microphone in hand. Don Vittorio Romano. The devil himself. Age had added gray to his hair but not weakness to his presence. The entire ballroom respected him for one reason: He was a monster who survived long enough to become king. His eyes landed on Evelina instantly. The smile on his face disappeared. For the first time all night, real silence filled the room. Vittorio Romano slowly descended from the stage, staring directly at her as though he’d seen a ghost crawl out of hell. “Well,” he said calmly, though rage hid beneath his tone. “Look what the storm dragged back into my city.” “My city too,” Evelina replied smoothly. His gaze hardened. “You have your mother’s face.” “And you have my father’s blood on your hands.” Several people inhaled sharply. Nobody spoke to Don Romano that way. Nobody survived after doing it either. But Evelina stood before him without fear, her chin lifted proudly. Because fear was something she buried years ago beside her childhood. Vittorio studied her for a long moment before chuckling darkly. “You came here alone?” “No.” The lights in the ballroom suddenly went out. Gasps erupted instantly. Women screamed. Guards reached for their weapons. Then Red laser dots appeared across the walls. Snipers. Every Romano guard froze. The lights flickered back on slowly. Evelina stood exactly where she was, calm as death itself. A faint smile touched her lips as panic spread through the ballroom. “You asked if I came alone,” she said softly. Her eyes turned ice cold. “Well I didn’t” Surprise!!
