Chapter 3: Missing You

774 Words
I have always been a believer of true love. I always believed that no matter how hard the problems are, true love conquers all. I have been cheated on by my ex but that didn’t change my belief when it comes to true love. Being with Kyle makes me feel like I am back to being a teenager who giggles when her crush smiles at her. He is so kind and smart that I think someone as good as he is does not exist in my world. “Good morning, Ms. Beautiful.” – Kyle It has been weeks since that first date. From our first date, texting each other become a part of our daily routine. We were like on the stage of getting to know each other. I don’t mind showing who I really am when I’m with him and I feel like it’s the best feeling someone could offer you, an inner peace. “Good morning to you, too.” I replied to his text. Today we agreed to meet at their club because we will discuss about a possible partnership between his club and our hotel. They will present their proposal on how to possibly put up a club at our hotel to add more leisure to our guests. The club will just open on weekends and not on weekdays since it’s the usual time for people to party. I was driving to the club when he called. “Hello?” I answered. “Hi. Are you on your way already?” he asked. “Yes, sir.”I said. “That’s good. Can’t wait to see you.” He said. “Can’t wait to see you too. Bye!” I ended the call. Labels? No. We don’t have any. I’d like to believe that we are on a mutual understanding that we liked each other. I’m fine with it though, I don’t want to rush things. I parked my car at the parking and Kyle was already waiting there for me. How sweet of him. He never fails to amaze me every now and then. “Hi.” I said as he approached me. “Hi.” He said as he gave me hug. “I missed you” “I missed you too.” I smiled at him. We went inside the club and straight into his office where his assistant will present their proposal. Overall, the proposal went good. I approved of it. It was a win-win situation for both of us since it will benefit us. “Are you going back to the hotel?” he asked me as we wrapped things up. “No, I’m going home early today. My parents are home and we’ll be having dinner together.” I said. “Wow that’s great. I’m happy for you.” He said. “I am happy too.” I said. “I really have to go. “I’ll see you for the construction of the club?” “Yes. I’ll see you then. Let me walk you to the parking lot.” He said. “Thank you.” I said as I started to walk to my car. “Drive safe, Okay? Text me when you’re home.” He said. “I will.” I said as he pulled me in for a tight warm hug. I was nervous the whole time during the hug. I didn’t know why. It was just a hug but I felt it was more than just that. My heart literally felt like I just finish a running race. I really like this guy. He didn’t say a word after so I went inside my car and waved goodbye at him.   I arrived at home and shared dinner with my parents. It was a very joyful one. The table was filled with laughters and good foods. These are the moments that I can say I’m very grateful to my parents because no matter how busy they are, they always make time for me. I went to my room and lay down in bed. I couldn’t help but think about Kyle. I’m starting to know him better and better as days pass by. I checked my phone to see if there are messages. There was one from Kyle. “How was dinner?” he said. “It was great. It went well actually.” I said. “That’s good to hear.” He said. “Aren’t you going to bed already?” I asked him. “Are you? I will if you will. Would it be selfish if I say that I don’t want you to sleep yet because I missed you and I want to talk to you?” He said. This guy really is something. He can make my heart flip with just his words. Does he even know how much he affects me? Does he feel the same way to me too? “It would be. But I wouldn’t mind staying up late for you though.” I said laughing. “Really. I’m flattered.”he said. “Well, you should be.” I said. And we both burst out into laughter.
