Chapter 2: Flowers For You

1078 Words
I went to the hotel earlier than usual because there will be an event which will start at around ten in the morning. I parked my car and went directly to my office. I need to finalize things before the event starts. I checked everything and was very satisfied with the flow. “Excuse me, miss Cassy?” my assistant called me. “Yes?” I said. “I just want to inform you that the models for the fashion show are here already.” She said. “Okay, please accommodate them, Fatima.” I told her. A fashion show from a famous magazine will be shooting here today. This is by far one of our biggest clients yet. As much as possible I want them to give us a very nice feedback. This can jumpstart our market to a higher level. The fashion show ended well and our clients were more than happy with our services. They said that they’ll recommend us to their colleagues. It was around five in the afternoon when I decided to go home and call it a day. I was about to step out of our building when I saw Kyle leaning on his car with a bouquet of flowers in front of our hotel. I heard some girls fantasizing about how handsome he is and how lucky his girl is. When Kyle saw me, he immediately went towards me. “Hi. Flowers for you miss beautiful.” He said while handling me the bouquet. “Thank you. What’s with the flowers?” I said. “And how did you know where I worked?” “It’s written in your calling card. And the flowers are really for you to somehow brighten up your day.” He said. “Really? Flowers just to brighten up my day?” I asked a bit confused. “Actually, it’s because I want to invite you out for dinner tonight. I know that we barely know each other and I would want to know you better.” He said a bit rattled. “It’s okay if you decline I would understand.” “Okay.” I said. “Okay, what? Okay as in you want to have dinner with me or okay because you’re rejecting my offer?” he said so fast. “Okay, I accept your invitation.” I said. “Wow. Thank you. I promise you that you won’t forget this and you’ll have a lot of fun.” He said. “I’ll take note of that.” I said smiling at him. He guided me towards his car and opened the front seat for me. He then drove and I had no idea where we’re going. We were already halfway to the ride when I remembered something. “Oh my, I forgot. I brought my car this morning. I should’ve followed you instead of riding with you.” I said. “Don’t worry. We’ll come back to the hotel after dinner and you’ll get your car. But I will still follow you to your house just to make sure you’re home safe.” He said. I can feel that my heart literally skipped a bit because of what he said. Those were just simple words but it feels so sweet to me. We arrived at the restaurant about thirty minutes later. He opened the car door for me and I just couldn’t help but notice how gentleman he is. I was about to look for a vacant table when he told the waiter that he got reservations for tonight. I’m so impressed because he really prepared for this. I’m just glad I accepted his invitation. Why wouldn’t I? He’s someone I think I am interested also. “What would you like to order?” he asked me. “I’ll have a salad and their famous steak.” I said. We gave our orders and while waiting for the food, we talked. “So, how’s work?” he asked me. “It’s fine. Just a little tiring but nothing I can’t handle. How about you? Do you have any job other than managing your club?” I asked him because I was a little bit curious. “No. I’m happy with my club besides it’s earning more than what I need.” He said. “So you don’t want to be super rich just like other businessmen?” I asked him. “No, I’m happy with living a simple life.” He said. “I think we can both agree on that part.” I said. The dinner came and we fell into silence as we decided to eat first. I caught him taking few glances at me every now and then. I don’t really mind though. I feel special because of him. He looks at me as if I’m the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. I don’t know what he wants from me. If he’s just playing or just being friendly with me. I don’t want to overthink or assume anything because in the end we might not be on the same page.                 “Did you like the food?” He asked. “Yes, those steaks are the best there is.” I said happily. Since it’s late already he offered to drive me home and just pick me up early tomorrow. I was so tired that thinking about going back to the office and getting my car is so much of an effort. He drove me home and I agreed.  I immediately regretted it though because it means that he will know where I am living. “You didn’t tell me you live in a mansion.” He said. “What mansion? It’s not a mansion that’s just our house.” I said. “Okay, a house that’s so big then. Do you live with your parents?” he asked. “Yes, I do. But they’re always busy with business and their business trips.” I said. “Oh that might be too hard for you.” He said. “Before, yes. But now I understand what they’re doing. They are sacrificing their time with me to work on our business because it’s for our future.” I said. “They’re lucky to have you as a child. You’re not the spoiled type of girl.” He said. “Yes I’m not spoiled because they taught me how to value things around me.” I said. “That’s good to hear. I won’t have to worry about the expensive dates that we might do.” He said laughing. I couldn’t laugh with him because I felt like even if he was just joking, I want it to be true. I like this guy and I think I like him more and more as day passes by. “Are you asking me out for another date?” I smiled as I said that. “Am I?” he said while hiding a smile. “I guess I am.” “You’re funny.” I said. “Anything to make you smile, Miss.” He said. “Why thank you.” I said and burst into laughter. This guy knows how to make a girl happy in his amazing ways.
